The Speller Project.

Since you're done showing your mom this, I can continue. Hi, I am Ian Hall. I am what we call a "Speller." More specifically, I am your new Wizard. That means I am going to have to teach you how this works. I chose to do this here for whenever someone is scrolling through Tumblr to calm down because they feel sick while your buddies talk about ghosts. Don't act suprised, it did it too in high school.

I will explain as many aspects of this world as I can so you don't die on your way to us and so you can refrence back when you need too. Don't go out in the woods searching for cryptids or monsters because they will find you if you go looking for them.

Currently, you are what we call a "Medium." You feel sick when you go to church because of the level of energy there, or you couldn't play with kids on the playground because their imagination made your chest hurt. You can sense and feel that something is there, but you can't see it. That monster under you're bed when you were little was real, just you nor your parents saw it.

Hi. I'm Ïěœâůƴ but since humans can't physically makes the sounds to pronounce it, everyone just calls me Emma. Ian asked if I would help teach the creatures we interact with and I said yes. I was going to start with Sanctifedra because they are the most common, but I am going to start with Sasquaches because I know them them the best, as I am one.

Now, Sasquatch is a catch-all term for ape-like creatures that live in the woods or away from civilization. More often than not, Sasquatches will aim to avoid humans, wanting to usually be alone in the woods and enjoy nature. The strong connection to nature and the spirits that wander them give Sasquatches a large selection of supernatural abilites, aside from those we get from our own physicality.

Sasquatches can be found everywhere across the world. Where there is nature, there are Sasquatches. The Yeti from the Himalayan Mountains, Bigfoot from Appalachian Folklore, and even The Skunk Ape of the Florida Marshlands. Each one of these is real, I have met them myself. The Yeti is the only one of the three I mentioned to understand human language, similar to myself.

Sasquatches are "Anchors", causing the reverse effect that you would expect around Spellers. When Speller's attempt to do magic around us, they often are limited smaller, less "anomalous" effects. This is because Sasquatches connection to nature causes Funk to be pulled away from those around them and closer towards itself. What this also means however is positive effects are boosted on Sasquatches because of the "pool" of Funk they have around themselves.

We are odd things, but we are pretty nice most of the time. If a Sasquach "attacks" you, it's most likely trying to get you to leave because something more dangerous than itself is around. So listen to it, and me.

I'm Shawntavious Bullard. Ian asked me if I would tell some stories to break up the lessons, I said no. Sadly, he then asked our Elder to ask me, so she demanded me too. So, I am here to tell you some stories. I decided for my first story to be about me. Why? Because I want to.

I was born in 2000, in Atlanta, Georgia. Big city with a lot of mean, mean people and nice, nice people. In Atlanta, you get places right in the middle of them. I was raised in Vine City, so I got to watch them build that huge stadium over us while we starved. It felt almost taunting.

I became a speller in 2019 when I was shot at because I was a friend of the guy who killed his brother. You can imagine his suprise and mine when his gun just fell apart in his hands and I was suddenly 9ft tall, screaming like a Buckhead Betty getting arrested. He just sort of shrugged and walked away, seeming to just accept the weirdness before walking away. He didn't know what was going on, so he just went home.

I became a part of this group of Spellers soon after, some Sensitive peeking through their blinds at my screaming before calling them. They came over and we talked, right after they "convinced" my Dad that he had forgot his keys at The Varsity despite us going there only on birthdays. He ran off and they came in.

I'm not going to tell you what I can do, where my exhaust and intake are, mostly because y'all a bunch of rando's on the internet. Last thing I need is some random Edgy to find me and getting themselves killed. Cleaning up blood may he easy, but calming Freeda definitely isnt.

Forced to write this.

The act of doing magic is strainuous on the body, mostly the brain as well as on the intake and exhaust. Prolonged magic usage increases the chance of developing schizophrenia and dementia. This is due to Funk sometimes causing very slight imbalances in the neurotransmitters of the brain, which can slowly cause your body to adapt and have these imbalances be constant. It's almost like taking drugs.

The second biggest danger for Spellers in Mage Burn. When a person's intake or exhaust are is put under a lot of stress, usually from creating a large effect, it can cause the area around it to warp. This is usually a small but overtly magical spot, almost like a singularity of magic. I have Mana Burn around my false eye, and now that eyebrow is made of feathers. Luckily, Blind just accept it, like they do all overtly magical bs.

Now, Speller's create a lot of Funk because they themselves are supernatural, so we have a knowledge of the supernatural, not just belief. This means that some creatures can and will follow your trail. Sanctifedra are a common pest that many hideouts struggle with, but more dangerous things like Doppelgangers and Nightsteppers will follow your trail. Hopefully, you haven't gone through your awakening yet, because Medium's don't have to struggle with this. You can feel this stuff and read about it, but you still don't really know what it is you are dealing with.

I mentioned Exhaust and Intake in the last intro, so I decided to explain them next. So, before we start, I want you to take off any accessories you may be holding. Done? Okay, now think of every filling, bolt, screw, or rod that may be somewhere. Done? Okay, if you have prosthetics or other aids that you wear, look at them.

All of the things I listed could be possible Exhaust or Intake point, it's completely random. For example, my fake eye became my intake point while my colostomy bag became my exhaust. I wish it could have been switched, but now I can shoot lazers out of my pooper so I think thats pretty funny at least. (I clean it with magic, don't question it.)

When you awaken, the intake and exhaust will fuse with your body, becoming a part of it. You can feel through it if it's on the outside, and there have been reports that hip replacements or other surgeries that the body was rejecting suddenly accepted the implants. It's an odd thing to get used to. The exhaust or intake may even sweat if the Speller is running around or bleed when damaged.

During the awakening, the fusing process is very painful and results in a "Spaz" where you randomly intake and exhaust random effects. They are usually pretty small, like when I turned my coffee into a block of coffee ice. However if the exhaust is in a precarious position, like the mouth, it can cause severe damage to the Speller if their Spaz makes them release a powerful effect. So don't try and force an awakening either. Someone will meet you and tell you when you're ready.

He's a good friend.

So, in the introduction, I spoke about that feeling you get when you go to places like churches. That is what is called "The Funk" by Spellers, first used in the 1960s by Spellers in the hippie movement (if you could already tell). Before then, I was just called "the energy". It was vague and boring, but it got the point across.

The Funk is an energy that sentient beings release when they believe in the super natural. It is released and settles in an area, which is why you never felt sick around your religious grandma. She was releasing it constantly, but a majority of that energy was both released and settled in that church.

Because of the way Funk is produced, places of worship like churches or mosques are ironically where Speller on Speller combat is most common. These are usually two youngins who feel offended by the other because they made fun of their intake, exhaust, or pretty much anything. Speller's often have peculiar or underground intrests which can cause conflict between two people. It doesn't help that Sanguineous and other people who aren't humans can be Spellers.

I met a sasquach who pretended to be a school girl, you can imagine my suprise when she suddenly grew to 10ft tall and hair everywhere. Damn, she was good at illusions.
