about the look outside nightmares/shadows/dangers/however you call them and the bit of the post mentioning frederic, shadow fred does bear a good amount of similarities to the dangers. Kind of a weirder idea, but maybe Fred had some sort of encounter with the dangers before and it subconciously inspired how shadow fred was painted? I think the idea of the dangers being a form of stalking predator, staying out of sight until it thinks its prey are scared and panicked enough to strike is an interesting idea. Its not like the idea of invisibilty is out of the realm of posibility (look at stargazer) and it would explain them only showing up on higher danger levels or night. sorry if this is nonsensical i just woke up from too little sleep lol.
A very neat idea! I think Shadow Fred being inspired by an encounter with a Danger is a very plausible theory.
Hoooly hell, I had previously interpreted the fact that you can't see the Dangers to be a limitation on the Danger's part. The idea that they're purposely waiting to manifest and strike when you're at your weakest is absolutely horrifying.
