Perhaps, no… I am not entirely alright. Some might believe me to be all left. In truth I am also in an out. Don’t you see?
Full Name: Delilah Roza Kosh Nicknames: Del Gender: Female (She/Her) Date of Birth: February 19, 2017 Age: Eighteen Sexuality: Demisexual Species: Successive Hometown: Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine
Roza Kosh was born to two poor conduits in the cold Moscow winter of 2017. Roza’s family were victim to the misfortune that was discrimination and suffered many violent outburst from their neighbors and any who knew or suspected them of being conduits. The abilities they possessed were viewed as dangerous and the people behind the abilities were in turn viewed as threats. This storm came to a head when Roza reached the age of six. Attacks on their home had become more and more frequent and, one night, the entire building went up in flames, taking Roza’s parents with it. Unknown to Roza and the few authorities in the city that had not been paid off, the building had been set aflame by members of PRIME and Roza’s parents had been former Mavericks.
After her parents’ death, Roza was placed in an orphanage where children were often malnourished and treated poorly by the staff. It was during her time in the orphanage that Roza began to develop a bit differently than her peers. Her sentences often sounded disconnected and her imaginary friends were treated as if they were more real than those around her. The hyper religious orphanage viewed her as possessed and quickly search for ways to have her transferred elsewhere while simultaneously attempting to beat the demons out of her. The orphanage even changed her first name to “Delilah” hoping that an English name might make her more appealing to American adoption agencies. Eventually, a private foster organization in with secret ties to PRIME accepted Delilah, or “Del” as she preferred, into a home in Chicago.
Having access to the best doctors in the country, the foster organization provided her with the analysis and healthcare that the orphanage in Moscow could not. Del was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and medicines were prescribed. However, the antipsychotics had little effect on the girl’s biology due to her dormant conduit gene. Without working medication, her psychosis and impulsive behaviors only became worse. Del would often walk out of her quickly changing foster homes late at night. She would seek out the darkest places in the city in an attempt to gain some sort of refuge from the constant static inside her mind.
During one such escapade, Del could smell the familiar scent of smoke and managed to come across a burning home. She stood mesmerized by the flames, feeling almost as if she were were watching the death of her own parents from the outside. When the fire department arrived, she was in a catatonic state, staring at the building that was, luckily, empty of victims. They suspected her to be in shock. While some worked to extinguish the flames, one officer, Zach Novak, attempted to move her farther back from danger. In that moment, it was as if something inside her changed. A fragment of the Sequence before her woke the dormant ability inside her in a way that she never though possible. She quickly backed away from the fireman, quickly running into another. As soon as she came into contact with the second fireman he began to roll around on the ground screaming about fire that could be seen by no others. Del jumped back from the man in fear before beginning to run far away.
Del never returned to her foster home that night, instead living out her days in the system on the streets will many others who suffered from mental illness. She stole to eat, using her new found abilities when necessary. She continued this life until aging out of the foster care system. Now, she is sometimes able to stay at a halfway house between her more intense episodes. She is enjoys sketching and carries her sketchbook with her everywhere she goes. Del continues to remain a neutral, avoiding the war and everything involved, only living moment to moment in hopes that she will live to see another sunrise. In the meantime, fears for her life and she fears for the lives of all who approach her.
Del is a bit confusing to most, she often speaks in riddles and often communicates relevant information that can be easily shrugged off as nonsense. Del harbors no ill will towards those who have yet to wrong her. However, that does not mean that she lacks caution when approaching new people. Despite her lack of spite, her instability may cause her to lash out or harm someone without being fully conscious of her action.
Del often fears herself for her lack of control and the abilities that she has. Del does not want others to fear her, but understands why they may and even expects them to. Despite her downfalls, Del is a resilient being who is able to keep going despite all the hardships that come with her mind and her abilities. Del can be a bit of a chaotic neutral, harboring blurred perceptions of what is right and wrong.
Delilah can be rather impulsive at times, perhaps because she may lack proper judgement or may be threatening to her well-being. The successive often appears innocent, naive, and absentminded, but these tend to be the times when she is most disconnected from reality and most dangerous to those around her. Despite the desire to forget what she can do and has done, she carries an inherent knowledge of the damage she can inflict.
Psychosis inducement is the ability for the user to essentially project a psychotic state onto any being who touches them. When the ability is more developed, the use may be able to cause an aura of psychosis inducement around them without any physical touch. When someone is victim to this ability, they often experiences visual, auditory, and tactile hallucinations as well as extreme feelings of fear. They may see their worst nightmares come to life. Growing up with a disorder that causes altered thought processes, the things that Del my project onto others is nothing short of familiar to herself. When the fragment of Sequence XIII inside of her, her abilities have essentially taken the hell that has always been present in her mind and projected those thoughts onto others.
Delilah is able to control the sanity of others. However, she has difficulty keeping her own sanity straight. After using her ability, she often finds herself experiencing auditory, visual, olfactory, and tactile hallucinations. She experiences altered thought processes and disorganized thinking often accompanied with racing thoughts. After longer or more intense uses of her abilities, she may experience dissociative amnesia, blocking out memories that she may or may not recover later. Her ability also causes symptoms of withdrawal and a craving for use if she has abstained for an extended period of time.
