TW: Heavy topics, including mention of death and medical malpractise. I've pretty much abandoned tumblr at this point. I am still writing, it's just going really slowly at the moment due to personal issues that are causing immense stress to me.
In case you don't know, I lost my dad to medical malpractise last year and have been in a legal battle with the healthcare system since then, trying to get justice and access to his medical records so we can prove what happened.
We have acquired the access to the records and have confirmed our suspicions. He died of hypoxia caused by medicine overdose while being admitted in the hospital, but instead of giving him oxygen, they waited four hours and then took him to x-ray his lungs. He died in the x-ray machine. It was my mom who found him dead. The hospital denied us his records because they knew we would be able to see it was their fault he died. We opened a case with the authorities, including a team of counselors, lawyers and police. They gave us a copy of the records, circumventing the hospital. Upon reading the records, it was obvious a bunch of mandatory information was omitted, including the entire anesthesy report from the surgery he underwent while at the hospital. The surgery where they suspected he was allergic to the anesthetic. Yet decided to use it again the next day for the second surgery. He died that day. They denied our (and the police's) request for an autopsy and refrained from contacting us until after he was cremated to "explain" what happened. And all they told us was he died because of a communication error. That's not good enough. So, I know pursuing legal justice won't bring my dad back. I don't even expect to get any compensation and I wouldn't even know what I'd use it for anyway, but I just want the hospital to take responsibility for what happened. To make sure something like that won't happen to someone else in the future. Because it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Anyway, that's why I've been sem-absent for a while. I hope you can understand. But I probably won't be using this tumblr much in the future because I keep forgetting I have it.
