So welcome to my blog! Here I'll post updates related to my next-generation fic series. Please feel free to reblog to promote my series, or ask any questions in the ask box!

What is it about?

It's time to pass the baton.

At least 30 years have passed since the summer that changed everything. Many have moved on, but while all the characters have grown up and settled down, the town of Gravity Falls is still a strange and weird place. Nesting among the woodlands and valleys, plenty of secrets remain, waiting to be unlocked.

Explore the stories and escapades of Dipper and Pacifica’s three children – Nita, Nilam and Taka – as they deal with all the endless paranormal absurdities and other ridiculousness that comes their way (preferably without their parents’ supervision).

Adventure! Mystery! Action! Grappling hook! These random bold-sounding words are alive and well in these exciting Tales!

Notes

My goal with this series is to try and create a believable next-generation series for the show, by keeping the fun, quirky tone of the cartoon interspersed with paranormal and mythical elements. And, of course, plenty of family fluff, with endearing parental moments and the unavoidable siblings' bickering and teasing. While I work on longer adventures with these Pines children, I might at the same time devote some efforts to one-shots (labelled with the prefix "Appendix") to keep myself motivated. These one-shots are a couple of stories exploring the side characters and background of the new generation.

I recommend using this index if you wish to navigate my works in chronological order.

I understand that next-generation stories are quite niche. But if you’ve dropped by here seeking such stories, I would appreciate it if you check out some of these works and hit the kudos button and/or comment! Any comments and constructive criticism help keep me going forward. Reblog too to help promote this series!

In the meantime, also try to crack the weird keyboard smashes or string of numbers left at the end of every story. These are actually cryptic messages, encoded in various ways (whether Vigenère, Caesar or Atbash). They might mean something or nothing.

"Family is not just an important thing for us, it's everything and more."

I attribute the original English quote to @mymanyfandomramblings, on her take of her next-gen Pines family tree. It is subsequently translated into Hebrew by @thegoodduckfan.

So, this is my take on the family tree, which also includes many of the unseen family members such as the Pines parents (Sarah and David), Sherman and his wife, Wendy's Mom and the other Northwests. Perhaps I would have added Abigail Northwest (an ancestor who appeared in The Book of Bill), but that's a couple more generations I would need to pay more for.

In my next-gen series, Dipper married Pacifica and they have their adorkable triplets. Meanwhile, Mabel married Kevin Corduroy and both have a pair of redhead twins.

And now to the individual portraits.

Filbrick and Caryn

The Grunkles! And Mabel knitted for them a larger Hannukah sweater!

Shermie and his wife, Michelle Pines. I headcanon that Shermie is the elder of the Grunkles, and he had gone to the Vietnam War for a time, which explained his absence during the flashbacks of A Tale of Two Stans.

The Pines parents David and Sarah! For David, it's based on the Tumblr "stemboification" post, since Hirsch mentioned he works in IT. For Sarah, I headcanon she's a museum curator. At the point of this commission, I haven't considered the possibility they might be divorced, but still, I believed they have sorted out their marital issues when the twins were away during the summer.

The Northwests and their "better lifestyles than ours". Though there's a price to pay for carrying their legacy...

Auldman was mentioned in Journal 3 as Preston's father. I haven't thought much of Adeline, though she might be also from a family of equal status. I headcanon that Priscilla was an actress, or at least a child of one.

The Corduroys! There's nothing really definitive for Wendy's Mom, besides that she isn't "present in the series", although some speculated she could have died in service as a soldier. Shannon Corduroy, Dan's wife, has black hair, which is also a throwback to the design of Pilot Wendy.

And then to the newest generation of Pines-Corduroys! Or is it Corduroy-Pines? I have Mabel and Kevin married earlier than Dipper and Pacifica. I attribute the idea to the ship to J_COTW, who wrote his take on a dipcifica next-summer series A Return to the Falls. The ship also inspired me to write an April Fools fic introducing this pair of mischievous twins.

And Dipper, Pacifica and the adorkable triplets Nita, Nilam and Taka! As we can see, the dorkiness really runs in the family.

For the art request, I wonder if you can draw my OC triplets in this meme format. (Nilam and Taka sharing a laugh, while Nita remains stoic)

12. favorite character to write about this year

I actually have two answers for this. Well, regarding canon characters and my OCs

For my OCs, I say Nita. I didnt explore much of her before until my flufftober stories, and I decided to feature her as the central character in some of my flufftober one-shots. Most notably in Oh, the Mouse is so fine, in which her rigidness was challenged

As for canon characters... Definitely Pacifica as always. Its fun to write how she has changed and grown since we last saw her in the show, as a caring mother, a snarky wife and a generous philantropist. Of course, my direction for her differs from many others (like she can even be a nurse or an architect), but it's always a curious idea to me that she ended up richer than her parents, and this wealth is something she made out of herself rather than in her family's shadows. And I imagine she still uses her wealth for various programmes like helping lgbt youths or saving the environment (like I think Bruce Wayne would do, really). Pacifica's Christmas Carol offer me that possibility

(Bonus answer: Shermie Pines in my Jewish Pines fic continuity and his daughter-in-law Sarah. I quite imagine them to be close, especially when Sarah was dealing with marital issues with her husband. And Shermie trying to advice the best he could)

23. fics you wanted to write but didn’t

I got four unfulfilled ideas in fact, but I was also prioritising the flufftober fics and thus didnt really check back in my box of ideas:

Nita's visit to the dentist

Dipper, Mabel and Pacifica having a cheese bread eating competition

Triplets briading hair chain (I got a piece of commissioned art for this)

Triplets revising for a test (based on a joke when Nita gets pedantic over an answer and her siblings got a little mad haha)

Besides these four, I hope to eventually embark on Episode VII of my next-gen continuity, in which we are at the midpoint and more truths about Dipper are revealed
