After Kimiko loosened it a bit to let him breathe, he'd sigh and give a snarky, playful look.

"I mean, y'never really asked, now didja~? I did mention it in passing when we made those Valentine's chocolates, but that was a while ago."

"How can I put this... My mom has a real "Mama Bear" sort of personality to her. Ever since my dad vanished a while ago protecting me, and my little 'incident' with the first lightning strike, she's been more protective of me than ever. It took me a WHILE to even convince her to let me be a part of the temple, y'know; even WITH Master Fung's recommendation.

B-But she's a really sweet woman, honest! She taught me everything I know about cooking and baking, and about dressing wounds... since I got a lot of scrapes and stuff as a kid.

...also, another reason of her coming here may be because I accidentally somehow told her I'm seeing someone when I'm not-"

'Do you want me to loosen it?' It dawned on her that she might be overdoing things or being too overbearing with her friend... things that she never wanted to do or be in the first place. Perhaps it was true that she could be a bit much, but it was all out of care... really. Kimiko tried to adjust the tie to become a bit more comfortable, listening to Terrell as she did so. 'Oh, I see. She sounds like a great woman. Definitely a character.' Kimiko laughed. 'I bet I'd like her.' Kimiko raised her eyebrows in shock at the last statement, confused. 'Seeing someone?... Who?... or why?... if you don't mind me asking?'

"Yeah, I'm sure you two'd get along like a spark in a fireworks crate." He'd laugh along with her- not exactly gonna bring up that his mother and Kimiko's fiery temper would seem to match perfectly; but rather, infer it.

However, upon being asked who it was, he'd sigh and rub the back of his head.

"...If you promise not to laugh, but... it's Mei. Mei Lóng- that new Monk girl that came here some time ago. Y'know, the one who's ALSO a Dragon of Lightning like I am?"

"I mean sure, she and I are friends, but my mom TOTALLY misconstrued the point when I talked to her on the phone! She just assumed that I was dating Mei because of how much I was praising her progress!"

"And then, get this; Mei tells me that she accidentally told her parents that she and I were dating, too!! So now both my mom and her parents are BOTH coming to the Temple, tonight, to see what's going on! Mei and I have to pretend to be dating, but, as you probably can guess, I've never dated anyone in my life!"

It'd probably be safe to say that anyone can see the anxious dread dripping from this conversation.

He was never one for stuffy clothes or anything of the like. He'd asked Kimiko for help with at least looking nice for his mother coming to visit; mother hen that she was... similar to how Kimiko was acting.

"I-It's not like I'm going on a big date or giving out an awards show... it's just my mom coming over to see what I've been doing these past few months. Is all of this really necessary?"

'it's about the principle of the thing.' kimiko insisted, adjusting the tie ever more still. 'you want to look nice for someone you care about, don't you?' if there was one thing kimiko didn't play about, it was fashion. kimiko didn't let herself get perturbed by his grumbling… not too much anyways. 'what's your mom like? i don't think you've ever talked about her before. have you?'

With a grunt of effort, the Dragon of Lightning picked up Kimiko on piggyback, and he'd take the path back to the Temple with her in tow.

"You're lucky I came around when I did, y'know- who knows how long it would've taken to find you otherwise. What happened out here?"

Kimiko rubbed her eyes, blinking a little. The previous battle had left her a little bit disoriented, truthfully, but thankfully it was nothing that she wouldn't be able to handle. She was just thankful that she didn't have to walk too long by herself in an unknown place, injured at that.

'Ran into one of Katnappe... Ashley's?... killer white cats. We got into a fight. I think she showed up at some point. Maybe I misjudged how dirty she'd play or how long it's been since she's been in a fight with us and all-'

"Damn, Katnappé? So close to the Temple..?"

That was bad. Considering Katnappé's m.o., it was likely an attempt to burglarize the Temple of its Wu. She was a seasoned thief, plain and simple; if she was on her on/off again partnerships with Jack and Wuya or not didn't matter- things could get ugly with her on the prowl. Especially since she's encountered them so many times beforehand.

"You're lucky it only cut you on the leg. You must've scared them off, but we're gonna have to keep an eye out- knowing her, she's probably gonna try again sooner or later.

I'll definitely let Rai and the other Monks know. You, on the other hand, get to sit comfy in your bunk and play video games and-or meditate while that wound heals. Don't worry, I'll only be mildly jealous~" he'd tease playfully.

"Excellent- right this way, please. This shouldn't be long." Zeth instructed, letting the warrior follow him into one of the medbay's private rooms. Once there, he pulled out a slab-like device, and gestured to a spot where she would have to stand. He'd tap and slide on the device some, to let the large apparatus boot up and hum to life. It slowly went around each appendage, bathing them in a bright blue light.

"Fascinating... I had not envisioned that humans would be so cooperative. With what I had seen from certain texts and fictional films, I had thought all humans would reject those coming into their territory."

It was a good thing to be sure; the more that Dinaurians could re-integrate onto a planet, the more likely their eventual survival.

"What about the flora and fauna there? Is it as beautiful there as our old homeworld?"

Duna stood politely where directed--turns out, she was very, very good at standing stock still for even an extended period, not paying the scan much mind as she listened to Zeth.

"Yes, humans are quite social creatures, actually. Even with other species." And sometimes to their detriment, according to some stories she'd heard.

"Well, beauty is subjective," she added, before smiling softly. "...but yes, this planet is quite beautiful."

"Really? I would hope to see some of it all first-hand some time. I must admit, I found it a shame that our progenitor seed had died here that many Earth-years ago... to think, that amount of time was like a blink of an eye to us with our stone sleep- I wonder if the Vivosaurs on Vivosaur Island and Caliosteo Isles had felt the same way."

Eventually the machine gave a small ping upon its completion of its scans.

"Well, your bio-signature readings are nominal, only with some negligible Earth-based spores and pathogens, which I assume you've picked up along your travels. Besides those, there are just benign cuts and scrapes that've since healed. In short, you're in prime health."

//You're an absolute cheater with this one but I'll give it to you. As a bonus I'll give reasons why I love the characters- For Ragatha, besides the fact that she's cute, is that she's compelling and resonant with me. Ragatha has a lot of anxieties about turning into her abusive mother, which is why she tries so desperately hard to be kind and friendly to others, and I feel that. (Folks who know me know my bad temper, and that I don't want to turn into my dad) Not to mention her anxieties make her feel that trying so hard just pushes others away instead of bringing them close. I feel for her so much.
