Pac Man Headcanons regarding ghosts, as a species
They are not actually ghosts. They are in fact living creatures from the spectral realm. Pacworlders just called them ghosts upon discovery due to their many similarities to what Pacworlders knew to be ghosts, mistaking Ghost Monsters as such. They are born and grow up just as any other creature does.
Despite popular pacworlder belief, ghosts are different to spectral monsters. Spectral monsters are a completely separate thing.
The majority of ghosts weigh a few pounds at most, very light for their size
They have kinda vague internal organs. If you managed to open one up, you’d mostly just get Goop™
Most of their life source is stored in the eyes. Ghosts contain remarkable protective and regeneration abilities. Their eyes are nearly indestructible, and they are able to reform their bodies from their eyes alone, though this usually takes up to 6 hours to do so, depending on the amount of available spectral energy in their environment.
Physically, ghost monsters have slightly more corporeal forms than actual ghosts. Think of them as like a custard bun compared to pmatga's more jelly-adjacent consistency.
Like most creatures originating from the spectral realm, they are generally reliant on spectral energy to live. However, they are a bit more tolerant of environments with little energy compared to other species. As they get older, however, they slowly lose the ability to absorb spectral energy, eventually perishing. If they were to somehow be forcefully cut off from the ability to absorb spectral energy, their health would immediately begin to decline, and they would perish immediately upon taking enough damage, unable to regenerate.
They can also get spectral energy through consuming organic food items, or by biting creatures (since many plants/animals/pacworlders also passively carry slightly more spectral energy than exists in the air). Many ghosts also like eating food for fun. Outside of this, ghosts do not technically need to eat, though hunger is still something they can feel.
Sharp teeth
Ghosts are both venomous and toxic. They attack primarily through biting. While not inherently lethal to most grown, healthy pacworlders, they can prove dangerous in groups.
Ghosts are toxic if consumed, but this effect can be negated through consumption of a Power Pellet
They generally only NEED to sleep around 12hrs once a week, though some sleep more if they so desire.
