You got cum on your face you big disgrace
not what he said!!
We will we will fuck you
I have never rushed to make something so fast
Go easy on Molly, unnamed Kryn soldier. He's only two years old, he's not gonna know everything.
Bolaire is a character I relate to a little too hard to In the last episode for 2 reasons.
1: When people especially the ones you consider family downsize/excuse the heinous shit someone does to you for whatever BS reason they have it’s causes an unimaginable level of rage in you
And I saw that in Bolaire when he threw his minor fit which he had more than Every right to throw with the BS day he had with his sister attacking him and the person he cared for most treating him like a monster
I feel he was hoping that somone would comfort him and say that what happened to him was wrong but no one did and it’s devastating when that happens, everyone was acting like he was being melodramatic for hating Thjazi for doing every hate crime he possibly could to Bolaire
2: The way Bolaire can’t escape the profiling
Every action he takes and word he speak’s is being warped by the identity others have given him.
I truly don’t think Bolaire doesn’t see himself as a person I think he says he doesn’t because he wants other people to say he is, and to some extent they do but their words are cheap when they still don’t treat you like one.
Bolaire is perfectly aware that no matter how humane he is he will never be fully allowed personhood, A lesson Thjazi made sure he learned and no matter how hard he tries to prove him wrong everyone to some extent gatekeeps humanity from him enforcing that lesson.
And that’s what he’s angry about, he’s angry that Thjazi treated him like scum on the earth and that nobody cares, Bolaire in his rant was being sarcastic and satirical, he said he belonged to Thimble or Hal because he’s just an object that’s what Thjazi made him feel like,
And everyone tells him he’s not but no one says Thjazis wrong, and that makes their words hollow, no one faults Thjazi for treating Bolaire like an Object, but they say Bolaire isn’t an object, those two facts can’t exist together.
If Thjazi isn’t wrong then Bolaire has to be an Object to them, he couldn’t be a person bc if he was then Thjazi would be wrong and no one says he is
It’s infuriating getting stuck in this cycle of contradiction and that’s why he says he has no family, because everyone made it clear to him that night that their family is Thjazi

"If everything matters, then everything matters. If nothing matters, then everything matters. .... If nothing matters, then what we're doing down here matters because it's all there is."
I might be too high to be watching Weird Kids but this might do something profound for me.
"But Taliesin metagames!" "But Taliesin gets angry when things don't go his way!"
Gently grabs your face. Listen. Listen to me. First and foremost, this is little more than a Taliesin Jaffe fan account. Secondly, so does almost everyone at the table. It's fine. It's okay. It's a game. I do not care how loud he is. I do not care that he plays primarily morally ambivalent characters. I do not care that he gets angry sometimes. He's having fun with his friends playing a game. It's genuinely so fine.
Also, speaking as someone with Chronic Pain, Functional Neurological Disorder, and other disabilities, it's pretty understandable to want to build a character that can defeat the circumstances they constantly finds themselves in. D&D is escapism and sometimes the thing we're trying to escape from is helplessness, loss of control, pain, and that feeling of being trapped by circumstance. You got to remember that these guys aren't performing a scripted fiction; they're TTRPG Lets Players. We're watching a group of nerdy-ass voice-actors PLAY Dungeons & Dragons. Play. It's a game. Some people play to explore a theme. Some people play to win. Some play to be as useful and cool as possible. Whatever the playstyle, it's a game and it's how they choose to play. If it was a problem, there's a table full of friends to say so.
Don't apologize, I'll add onto this. I've seen so many people complain about Molly, that Molly wasn't useful in fights, that he didn't do enough, and I have to combat that with the knowledge of how absolutely useless the bloodhunter class was when Taliesin was playtesting it in real time. He couldn't use half of his cool abilities because he had to hurt himself to do so, and at early levels, that kind of health wasn't available. Sure, the bloodhunter is revamped to be more useful early on, but it took Molly killing himself with an ability to do so. Even so, at the time Molly died, he had something like 27 of the How Do You Want to Do This?, which was the most of anyone up to that point. Not so "useless", then. And then people complain that Taliesin takes too long to figure out what he's going to do when he's playing Caduceus. Well, so does Laura, so maybe that's a cleric thing, but people miss the point of Caduceus. By the time he gets to make his big plays half the time, the battlefield has changed so much that whatever his initial plan was is out the window and he's figuring it out as he goes. And Taliesin plays Caduceus to be what the party needs. Healer. Buffer. Debuffer. Inflicting pain where necessary. Guardian. Savior. Exactly what he needs to be so the party doesn't lose someone like they lost Molly. Of course he takes a while to figure it out. If, at the top of the round, nobody is hurt, Taliesin might think, "Oh, Spirit Guardians is a good choice, or Bane, something offensive." And then Caleb and Yasha and Fjord take 50 points of force damage from one attack and suddenly Spirit Guardians and Bane don't suit the needs of the battle. So maybe it's a Healing Word or a Cure Wounds. But which of those is more useful in this moment? Or would it be better not to heal until someone goes down, when he can give them the full effect of the spell without having to roll for points? But what if three people go down at once and he can't get to them all to cast a spell before death saving throws happen? What if what happens to Molly happens to them and they take two immediately failed death saves because an enemy attacks in melee while they're unconscious? Taliesin is so open about his nerves and anxiety and how he can have trouble articulating his plans, so things come out different than what he meant them to be, but anyone saying that he's not a good player, that he gets too angry, that he takes too long is really feeding into the ableism, because there's reasons for all of it.
The first chapter of the second part of my Widomauk series is posted! You can find it here!

"Well are you a [controversial identity] supporter???"
My friend I do not know what to tell you here. My rule is and remains "I don't care what you call yourself because your actions and who you are as a person is more valuable to me" and "as long as everyone in the situation is an adult and is giving enthusiastic consent I genuinely do not give a fuck what you do" and "words are stupid and people are complicated so it doesn't matter if The Words Are Wrong as long as it makes you happy"
I'm a longer tables not higher walls kind of guy. Have a seat. Break bread with me. Tell me a story over dinner. I think that'll be better for the both of us.
This post has gained about 2.5k notes in 24 hours for some reason and is doing numbers in the Identities Fandom but I feel like I need to be clear about something:
I wrote this before I'd ever even heard of crimew but also like.
Also yes I mean even that identity. That one too. Especially that one. And we can't forget that one either.
Come and sit at my table. Try my soup, it's an old recipe. Tell me how your day went. I think that's a better course of action.

Jasmine, Marisha, Jennifer, and Taliesin played Horrified: D&D Ravenloft for Everything is Content.
I don't really go here (I haven't watched much of Campaign 4), but I bet if Bolaire presented female (or was played by someone other than Taliesin, because I know how the fandom is about Taliesin), people would take the way he talks about Thjazi's abuse of him much more seriously. It's giving the people who can't admit their favorite dead musician was an abuser because he did good things sometimes.
writer culture is, internalizing “write for yourself”, yet getting a bit sad every time i check my inbox and it’s still 0. Doesn’t necessarily change my feelings towards the actual story, i still love it as much as i did when i wrote it, i just look forward to the interaction with my readers,,

Does anyone remember this Widomauk fic I posted years ago? What if I give it an alternate ending and make a non-canon compliant sequel?

I'm sorry, why exactly are we getting all pissy about Taliesin when it comes to Bolaire and his opinion on Thjazi and just Bolaire in general? Y'all are treating him like he's a bad player and doesn't properly communicate with the others as if he hasn't been doing this for 11 fucking years throughout four campaigns, several one-shots and mini campaigns
Why is it that people cheer on Matt and Alex for playing morally ambiguous characters but when Taliesin does, suddenly he's a "bad player" and "doesn't communicate with the others"?
Do you want the real answer? The real honest answer that's been the reason Taliesin has gotten hate across every campaign? Homophobia and abelisim.
Taliesin is openly queer and openly alternative. He's also talked openly about the barriers he experiences that others don't. Because of this, he's an easy target. This started *abundantly* with Molly and had only continued since then, as Taliesin has become more firm in not being straight, not being "conventionally attractive", and his mental and physical health struggles.
If you want the real, honest reason? I guarantee that's about 90% of it.
