I think one of the best things about the new batman movie is that rather than go the route of past adaptations where bruce is just this lone savior figure who stands apart in this sea of terrible heartless criminals, it makes it a point to show him as someone with deep roots within gotham and for whom the cityâs degradation and the acts of cruelty that go on within it are deeply felt. it shows him as someone who has been the victim of incredible violence, as someone who is still carrying and processing that trauma (while also taking the time to explore his positions of privilege and how that privilege comes into play here) as someone who is able to empathize with other victims of similar trauma and who ultimately comes to understand that perpetuating a continuing cycle of violence is getting all of them nowhere. it takes a look at both the characters of bruce wayne and batman and gives us a hero who is able to look at a devastated city filled with devastated people and decide theyâre all worth trying to save. this is a movie that says, âhurt people hurt people, but sometimes, hurt people can help each other tooâ and I think thatâs brilliant. Â
just thinking about how alfred was gone for five seconds and bruce immediately spray-painted the hardwood floors he really needs constant supervision
things I want to see in the movie
thiam
scott in college or at least graduated, let the man graduate please
malia and theo going on a mission together bc theyâre coyotes and becoming close
theo living with the dunbar-geyers
stiles not in the fbi because that made no sense at all (you know with the whole nogitsune possessing him and doing a whole ass killing spree at the hospital thing)
more of mason and liam friendship of course
thiamâ˘
peter because heâs funny
lydia having some mental peace (this is the most unrealistic thing I have ever said)
corey (why michael hasnât posted anything about the movie? haha)
theo and liam
alec and theo being friends because alec wasnât there to witness what theo did so he doesnât hesitate on trusting theo
thiam
And I know I wonât get any
I quickly did this venn diagram to prove a point to my friends - feel free to add / alter anything lmao

A short defense of: Evan Peters' appearance in the Wandavision (2021) series
I am now in the stage of physical pain when ever someone who didn't even bother to watch X-Men (preferably the newer timeline) proclaims that MCU handled Quicksilver way better than Fox.
Like, sis, no. Trust me. Aaron Taylor-Johnson wasn't bad in the role, but getting killed after one movie, that's what you call good handling?
Also, since X-Men is now Marvel's property, it was to be expected for the multiverses to mix up. And this was the most fabulous to open that topic for the audience - it almost makes sense for Wanda to introduce her dead twin brother from another universe to the bunch as the first one... And... More are coming.
I still expect Deadpool to drop into the MCU by any day, and I've heard there are talks going around that it might really happen, just walking onto the screen like nothing happened.
Trust me, Peter (please, not to be confused with Pietro) Maximoff is a whole package to unpack. He's actually pretty funny, he's a clepto maniac with an actual persona who was around for more that 3 movies. Also, he has a developed saga inside his universe.
So please, stop saying that Evan Peters shouldn't be in Wandavision, without you actually seeing the X-Men saga, and give this strange Quicksilver a chance. This version of the speedster might catch and steal your heart without you even realizing.
Iâve been thinking about season 1 of the 100 lately and I always wondered why Octavia was immune to the sickness going around camp. And I realized she probably got sick when she was on the ark, she couldnât go to the doctor for medication and who knows if your allowed to have medicine in your house. She probably has a good immune system cause she had to deal with being sick on her own. Idk if someone else thought of this first but I just realized it
This kid needs a BREAK ya hear
If Rhodey had more screen time the movies would probably take a lot less time and there would be nothing fun to watch
In this house we stan Donnie.

so, blaming bucky for murdering tony's parents isn't right because his mind was fucked up by hydra, but only blaming tony for the creation of ultron is okay even though his mind was fucked up by wanda.
uhum. okay. right.
The Octavia Blake Guide to Surviving Lockdown (and What Comes Next)
So itâs been six weeks in isolation. I think? Time has long since become irrelevant. The world is stressed. Iâm stressed. Not so much about the coronavirus itself, but everything else surrounding the situation. The isolation. The uncertainty. Society losing its shit. What the world will look like when it is all over, because everything will change whether we want it to or not.
You know, all that fun stuff our favourite characters on The 100 deal with each episode.
Which brings me to this post. What Would Octavia Blake Do?
I mean, sheâs got the experience. Sixteen years of isolation in a single room, followed by a year of isolation in another room, then about six months on the ground, followed by six years locked under the ground⌠she knows better than anyone how to survive these sorts of trying times.
So here we have it - famous Octavia quotes and how to apply them to our current situation. Mostly serious, part irreverent, all of it a homage to the fact that stories matter and can help us figure out how to deal with this messy thing called life.
âA warrior doesnât worry about what she canât control.â
This is a mantra I repeat to myself many times a day. Sometimes I believe it. Itâs hard. But it really is the only way to keep yourself sane these days. The world has turned upside down, but you canât control it. You can only control yourself.
I canât control that 75% of my income earning potential vanished overnight. I can control how I budget the remaining 25%, credit cards and looking into new income streams.
I canât control that Iâm stuck in a country I was supposed to leave this week for however long this continues to go on. I can try and learn to love it again, because weâre going to be spending more time together.
So what else can I do to keep myself healthy and sane? Letâs look at what Octavia does.
Train. One of the first things I started doing as soon as the lockdown started in mid-March was set up an exercise plan. Now, I donât typically âexerciseâ in my normal life. I just walk everywhere I need to go and call that good enough. But now that Iâm not really doing that, I have to find a way to do so indoors. I started out with three half-hour Zumba sessions per day, and now Iâve worked my way into more specific and targeted workout sessions. YouTube is a godsend. Every type of exercise you could think of, in any time length you want, you can find there. Iâm doing abs, arms, more squats than Iâve ever done in my life, kickboxing, etc.
Read. See all those books on your shelves collecting dust? Yeah, read them now. I havenât been following this advice as much as I should, but Iâm making an effort to get better. I have so many unread books and I really should read them. If youâre one of those strange people who donât have unread books, embrace the opportunities that sites like Project Gutenberg provide and read all the classics online for free. Octavia loves the classics.
Eat healthy. I hadnât eaten at home for six months before this all started, so I had to refill my pantry and remember how to cook. Keeping your body healthy is important. Get your fruits and vegetables. Also ensure a protein source. Donât go full on prepper, donât hoard, but if shit hits the fan and you want to avoid the Dark Year happening in real life, make sure you have a few jars of peanut butter and/or a few packs of beef jerky stashed away for a rainy day. Your neighbours will thank you.
âGe smak daun, gyon op nodotaim.â (Get knocked down, get back up)
At the beginning of this year, no one could have predicted what the state of the world is right now. People made plans. People started putting their plans into action.
Enter coronavirus.
Everything changes.
I actually had a plan for this year. I was going to leave here this week, go back to Canada for six months, then move to Spain. Well⌠I donât know whatâs going to happen now. And because of the uncertainty, I canât know. This has made me so mad, because for the first time in years I had a strategy for the changes I wanted to make in my life, and now theyâd all been shot to sunshine.
Some days you have to just scream. (Or cry and spend the day eating quesadillas in a blanket fort. True story.) But then after that happens, you have to brush yourself off, get up again and keep going.
Ge smak daun, gyon op nodotaim.
Iâm not making any plans further than today. I know thatâs an exercise in futility right now. All I can do is focus on what I can control (see above point) and continue to focus on that and what I can do for myself until there are things that I can do in the world again.
Moral of the story: Yes, there are going to be shitty days. Youâve probably already had a bunch of them. But you have to pick yourself up again and keep going when theyâre over. You might feel like you want to give up. Heaven knows Octaviaâs felt like that a lot of times. But she still kept going. If she stubbornly fought through a cliff dive with a stab wound and a quicksand pool of Orbeez, we can handle some uncertainty and delayed life plans.
âThe sword doesnât care what you meant, it just cuts.â
Time to step onto a soapbox for a bit.
Some world leaders and governments have done admirably with dealing with this crisis. Some have done okay. Some have done so fucking awful at their jobs and continue to spout nonsense from their podiums that it is going to cause real people to die. (Not naming any names, but Iâm sure you know what I mean.)
Octavia is the only character on this show who understands that when youâre in a tough situation, what your intentions are doesnât matter, it is only the results that do. This is applicable to our situation today in a twofold manner.
Point One: We can only control our own actions. That means being a responsible citizen, following public health guidelines. Stay home. If you have to go out, practice social distancing and any other recommendations set out by your public health authority. You might say youâre young and healthy, youâre not concerned about if you get the virus, but it is not about you. You could be asymptomatic and not know it. You might not mean to get someone else sick - someone who is more vulnerable - but it could still happen if you donât behave responsibly. So take ownership of your actions and do what you can to minimize the spread.
Which brings us to Point Two: You canât control otherâs actions, but you can hold them accountable for them. Which in this situation mostly means your countryâs leaders. Do not forget how they responded to this crisis. Remember. Remember when it is time to vote. Did they do a good job or did they do a bad job? How many people lived or died because of what they said? Did they follow the advice of medical experts? And so on. This isnât a time for party politics, this is a time for âcan we rely on this leader to do whatâs right for the people of this country when weâre in a crisis?â If the answer is no, vote for somebody else.
The same applies to non-governmental leaders - leaders of business and charities and everything else that you can think of. Remember who stepped up and helped people when and how they needed it. Remember who didnât. Remember who actively made lives worse. Budget your money accordingly.
âKom folau oso na gyon op.â (From the ashes we will rise)
This will pass.
When, we donât know. How, we donât know. But all we can do is work on ourselves and make ourselves as strong as we can for whatever the future brings us.Â
Some people are optimists, believing that this will usher in a new world where more people understand the challenges that others have always faced with things like mental health or physical disabilities and issues of accessibility and so on. Where more people will be aware of the dangers of climate change. Where people who are now coming together online and building hope and change will continue to do so in person when we can leave our homes and meet up with others again.
Some people are pessimists, believing the world will collapse and weâll enter into a post-apocalyptic scenario like The 100 or any of the other dozens of post-apocalyptic media offerings out there. Where itâll be every person for themselves and panic and destruction will reign supreme.
You donât have to speculate on the different scenarios. Thatâs not helpful right now. All you can do is work on yourself and make yourself ready for whatever the future will throw at us, and do your part in making a positive one.
This could be the point of lockdown where youâre starting to move out of the panic phase of ensuring survival, and are able to move into higher-level brain function again. If youâre not, thatâs okay, it could still take some time. If youâre struggling, donât be afraid to ask for help. There are people out there who can help. Just remember that this is a process, a process of so many different emotions, sometimes on a loop, sometimes all at once in a flurry of chaos, and thatâs okay.
Take care of yourself. Survive. Find a new normal.
Octaviaâs journey in season six was about shedding the pain and trauma of her old life, and finding a new one to believe in. Until she did that, she didnât have to worry about the greater plot nonsense that was going on. Thatâs our journey now too. The world is changing. How, we donât know yet. But take this time to make yourself strong for whatever is to come, because whichever scenario wins out, a strong you will always be beneficial.
Ste yuj. (Stay strong.) Because humanity is resilient. And from the ashes, we will rise.
John Murphy Rant
I honestly think that Murphy deserves more recognition for suffering through 3 days of torture in order to protect the people who were the CAUSE OF HIS CAPTURE and had banished him, betrayed him, and attempted to hang him. He doesnât deserve to be called a traitor because he gave up information on the people happy to see him dead after holding out on three days of apparently being beaten, having his fingernails torn off, etc. I donât really think he owed them that and the fact that they expected him to have not told them anything while also talking about how virtually useless and expendable he is (and only wanting to use him for possible information) and that if he didnât leave theyâd kill him, makes me so angry! Because after they turned on him he was still loyal as hell up to that point, and at this point none of them would have actually experienced being physically tortured and itâs all fine and dandy to say that they wouldnât have said anything and that because Murphy did heâs a weak traitor, there is every possibility that they would have too, since thinking about being tortured is going to be less intense and painful than actually going through the process. Like, the mental state you would have to be in after being basically told that your people that you trusted to some extent hated you and would rather you were dead and gone would be horrific, especially for a character like Murphy that exibits such strong symptoms of Abandonment, pretty much right from his characterâs introduction. And because he is also shown as being vindictive and revengeful when he comes back and tries to kill the people who hanged him, it is extremely impressive to me that a character like him wouldnât have told the Grounders anything until he was tortured for 3 days.
Now that thatâs off my chest and mind, time for bed. At 3:30am.
Took the words right out of my mouth. They hanged him beat him and cast him out. He owed them nothing and he still tried to hold out on telling the grounders. I'm proud of him
I just realized Bellamy sneaks on the dropship so on the way to earth there are 101 people 2 people die on impact that's 99 wells and Charlotte die and Murphy is cast out then raven comes in. The war happens and more people die. There were never 100 people on the ground.
âIâm not sure if I love the Marauders era, the Harry Potter era or the Next Generation era more.â
â I solemny swear that I am up to no good. Thereâs no need to call me sir, professor. Friends? Always.
They're all amazing

You punched me in the face, you made me walk through shitty water, you brought me to a fuckinâ crackhead house, and now⌠Iâm gonna have to kill this fucking clown.
On the Use of Blodreina
All this casual banter by other characters of the title Blodreina in S6 is really really grating on my nerves. In fact, I think our core group of characters has used the title Blodreina more in S6 than they ever did in S5, when they considered that title mostly nonsense (Bellamy especially, being as he saw his sister more as a child playing dress-up rather than, yâknow, the fucking leader of what was left of humanity).
Which means that now, when Octavia no longer holds the power that she didnât want in the first place, and thus the significance of that title has also passed into history, people using that title instead of her name is strictly to dehumanize Octavia, and justify everything theyâve done to her, and I really really hate it.
Such as Murphy. I mean, heâs been my favourite male character for awhile now, but him being sarcastic with âWhere is Blodreina when you need her?â is really fucking unearned. And Iâm more annoyed with him right now over that than him manipulating Bellamy and hanging out with Clarkephine. Heâs using a title he has no right to use, to call upon her skills to which he also has no right, because sheâs her own human being, not a murder-for-your-convenience machine.Â
And then thereâs Abby, who almost exclusively refers to her as Blodreina, again to dehumanize Octavia, and to ignore her own complicity in the creation of this title.
âWe stood by Blodreina during the Dark Yearâ⌠no, Abby. No. You created Blodreina during the Dark Year.
Letâs take a look at this picture here from the Dark Year:
This is not Blodreina. This is a crying teenager who wants to be anywhere else but where she is right now, and sheâs only here because Abby told her that taking away their choice was the only way that their people would survive. That the only way to make them eat was to make it a crime not to. That by taking away their choice, theyâd be able to live with themselves, because it was no longer their sin to bear.
Blodreina didnât exist before the Dark Year. This is something people often seem to either forget or miss. Sheâs got none of the Blodreina aesthetic. No one calls her Blodreina. Everyone else is still in their regular clothes too. The shift to a more warrior culture, which went hand in hand with the shift to the Blodreina personality cult, only came after the start of the Dark Year. It came because people recognized that she did what needed to be done to ensure their survival, and they paid their due respect - both to her as the enforcer of their survival, and to the dead for their sacrifice so that the living could fight to live another day.
Then weâve got this picture here:
This is also not Blodreina. This is a suicidal and mentally ill young woman who just needs some fucking empathy and validation so that she can begin to heal from all of the trauma of her past. But unlike every other character in the history of the show, she is not given the possibility to do that. She is instead excluded, beaten, maligned, disparaged and abandoned.
And for a third picture, just so weâre clear on everything:
This is where Blodreina died. She fulfilled the ethos that was the reason for her existence in the first place - omon gon oson - all of me for all of us.
Blodreina charged out there to distract the prisoners so that Bellamy, Indra and Gaia could escape, but Octavia was the one rescued by the Roverâs arrival. After that, Octavia kneeled to Madi and was her right hand when charging into battle, back in the warrior role sheâd always been most comfortable with.
Any further use of the title by the characters is inappropriate at best, dehumanizing at worst.
