Hot Cup of Tea ☕️ - A hot cup of Fillie’s special blend tea will earn you something comforting, a message, a picture, something to comfort or calm you.

Fillie pours a bowl of hot soup, stirring in a dash of this and dash of that from small vials. Some are potions, dark ichor that smells like mountain’s breath, sweet honey, are just a few.

But the cold doesn’t make you feel any better when your already sick.

She plonks the bowl down in front of you, dropping a spoon in. The shopkeep pours herself a mugful of the stuff.

A little pick me up I learned to make during my time as a knight,

She takes a gulp of it, and her large cow ears flutter as she sighs. It makes you feel a little more trusting of the thick liquid.

You step inside. The fireplace is roaring. There is tea set to warm on it’s edge. And yet the kind shopkeep is nowhere to be seen.

A new shipment of the finest oddities are strewn across the desk, left half unpacked.

Thwack!

You whirl towards the green bottle glass windows, surprised to see one open, letting the wind blow in gentle snowflakes.

You walk over through the shattered remains of a snowball to close it and see Fillie laughing outside.

Little mouse!

She calls.

Come out and enjoy the snow!

Another snowball is ready, as she tosses it lightly, before letting it drop back into her hand.

Her cheeks are tinged pink from the cold, but her eyes are bright, joyful.

Fillie pours you a cup of tea, the steam carries the smell of smoke and when you look straight into it you can see the embers of fur and crackling wood.

It’s comforting.

Fillie pours herself a cup of tea. Her eyes are tired.

Fillie spoons you a bowl of meat, vegetables and rice. Steam rises gently from the meal, and you wrap your hands around the smooth wood bowl. It warms your hands, and a small smile pulls at the corner of your mouth.

…

You’re angry. That is valid. But you can’t let this anger consume you. Sit with it, wallow in it. Let it come to pass in time. His words will fade to a bittersweet memory and you may be better for it.

The golden eyed shopkeep squeezes your hand comfortingly. Then releases it.

Here you go. I hope it’s the way you like.

A few scrappy looking dogs pad up gingerly to the bowl before taking polite mouthfuls of the kibble.

I always like to speak to the dogs like they can understand.

What makes them special? You wonder as you walk closer, peering intently at them.

Strange story behind them two…

You start at the shopkeep’s voice, turning to look at her.

Her gold eyes are settled on the pair of dresses, the memory of a smile on her lips.

They used to be mine. Mice thought they could make them theirs, so I took ‘em out.

A light tune tinkles through the open windows, and you feel a draw into the shop.

You push at the heavy oak door, the warm air from within hits you in the face.

And there she is…
