Is anyone else really invested in finding the right VOICES for characters as they’re reading? For Kingkiller I have voices tied down to each character that are just as important as how I visually imagine them, and it’s similar with a few of my other favorite books.

When they cast Denna, they have such wide parameters. She had brown hair, brown eyes, and light skin and Kvothe finds her beautiful. That’s all we know!! The casting call better be super wide open. She doesn’t have to be white, she doesn’t have to have unrealistic body proportions, she doesn’t have to fit the very narrow image of beauty. She could be so many girls and open up a really great conversation about beauty standards and what it means to be beautiful. And if they don’t capitalize on that, I will be so disappointed.
