Ask the New Squidbeak Splatoon Agents and Friends

Jewel: Hi everyone! We're the New Squidbeak Splatoon! I'm Julianna, better known as Jewel. I'm the new captain after our Gramps decided to retire, but I was formerly known as Agent 3.

Autumn: Hello, I'm Autumn! I'm Agent 4, and the second youngest agent!

Derek: I'm Derek. I'm Agent 5. I'm also currently the only male agent here.

Monica: I'm Monica. I'm Agent 8, but I was formerly Number 8 in the Elite Octobeak Squadrons, back when those were a thing. Should also be noted everyone who was a part of the Elite Octobeak was genetically modified, myself included.

Hunter: And I'm Evelyn, but everyone knows me by my middle name - Hunter! I'm the new Agent 3, or Neo 3 as I prefer, and the youngest agent. I also have a Smallfry named Bear! *Hunter holds up Bear*

Autumn: EEK!

Hunter: Oops! Sorry Autumn. You being afraid of Salmonids completely slipped my mind there... Oh! And the sanitized Inktoling is Stitches! She doesn't talk much, nor is she officially an agent, but she does help us out a TON!

Stitches: ...H-hello...

Derek: We admittedly don't know a lot about Stitches, other than she was created in a lab.

Monica: Her name's a little literal.

Stitches: ...Literal...stitches...heh heh...

Jewel: There’s also another member of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, but uhhh…we don’t talk about them.

Autumn: They’re bound to show up eventually though…

Derek: I don’t know how we’re going to explain THAT happening to our followers.

Monica: We’ll hopefully figure something out in case they do end up rearing their ugly face at some point.

Hunter: Aren’t you just insulting yourselves-

*Derek quickly covers Hunter’s mouth to prevent her from speaking further*

Derek: HAHAHA, very funny joke Hunter!

Stitches: …He he…I find joke funny…

*A red Inktoling with blue glasses and an oversized Team Future shirt comes from off-screen and quickly hands Jewel a note before disappearing again*

Jewel: Wait, I’m being handed a note. Let’s see here… Oh!

Autumn: What does it say, Jewel?

Jewel: It says this is mainly our account, but we do have to share it with the other Splatoon OCs.

Hunter: WHAAAAAT, that’s not fair!

Stitches: …Not fair…!

Derek: I mean, it does sound better than making a blog for every OC.

Autumn: I guess that’s true.

Monica: There’s a lot more of us. A LOT more…

Jewel: So while this is mainly an account for us agents to be asked questions, you’re also free to ask any of the other OCs a question too!

Breaking character for a bit, first to thank everyone who has ever submitted something for me to answer, second to announce the revival of a series I used to do on my main account

A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS SUBMITTED SOMETHING FOR ME TO ANSWER AND MAKE ART FOR

I know I'm often late in replying to these (in part because either I'm trying to think of ways to respond, coming up with art ideas, or dealing with irl stuff (job, life, etc.)), but I appreciate every one of them. I do have plans for story stuff (I have a little arc planned for Stitches to go more into her background a bit and who she REALLY is), it's now just a matter of finding time to sit down and set up everything, while also writing The Agent Archives (the backstories of Jewel, Autumn, Derek, and Monica, available to read on Wattpad).

And now for the polls

I had a series I used to do called OC of the Week, and it was under the tag of #crown oc of the week. I stopped because, well, I ran out of non-spoiler OCs 🫠

At the same time, I think all of my Splatoon OCs need to be appreciated, not just the ones that don't result in a story spoiler (although I will try to keep every post to as few spoilers as possible). But who to start with... Oh I know! I'll have a weekly poll (or try to) with a few options for your all to pick from. If there's a tie I'll spin a wheel as a tiebreaker. Hopefully this will go on for quite a while because I have *looks at my ToyHouse account* like 100+ Splatoon OCs now. Yeah, I don't know how that happened either 😭

Monica: Oh, I definitely would love to be in Super Smash Bros if I was ever invited.

Hunter: What would your moveset look like?

Monica: I don't have a whole moveset planned out, but it would probably be something like this-

*Dramatic and sudden background change to Final Destination*

Hunter: Wait what-

Monica: Okay, picture this. I'm facing an enemy, and they're about to attack.

Hunter: I mean, what enemy wouldn't attack-

Monica: To counter, I use my Side Smash.

*Monica pulls Autumn out of nowhere and begins using her as a weapon*

Autumn: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-

*Autumn gets smashed face-first into the ground*

Hunter: What in the carp-

Monica: And for my Side Special, I throw Bear at the enemy's face, and he takes them out like one of those giant fuzzballs!

Hunter: ...

Hunter: Wait, why wasn't this rendered?

Monica: We're on a tight budget here, we spent most of our money on snacks.

Monica: MOVING ON!

Monica: My next move would be the Up Tilt!

Jewel: Oh hey guys, what's up-

Monica: UP TILT!

Jewel: WHAT THE-

*Jewel gets blasted off-screen Smash Bros style*

Hunter: Oooohh, she's going to be feeling that in the morning.

*Monica pulls out her phone sneakily*

Monica: And the next move is, uhh, is the, uhh-

Hunter: Wait, are you looking up these move names? I know you're not competitive enough to know any of them other than "Final Smash..."

*Monica quickly puts her phone away*

Monica: And for my Final Smash, I summon a random agent and blast everyone with ink!

*Monica summons Derek*

Derek: Aw yeah, let's do this!

Monica: FINAL SMAAAAAAAAAAAASH!!!!!!!

*The two proceed to destroy everything while Hunter watches on in confusion*

Hunter: What is even going on anymore...

*Everything goes back to normal*

Monica: And so that's part of my Super Smash Bros moveset!

Autumn: Hey, so why was I a weapon?

Jewel: That really hurt, you know?

Derek: Why was I the only one to have a normal inclusion?

Monica: Hunter, this is our cue to run.

🎱 I'm Eight, and you can probably tell which agent I am from that name. Nice to meet you.

👨‍✈️ Trinity. Formerly Agent 3, now Advisor 3 of the group. Legs aren't the greatest, so I usually just sit on a crate like I am now. Charmed.

🎭 I'm Quadrinity, the Agent 4 of the group, and the only female agent so far. Don't mind the metal forearms, they're safe to touch.

⚙️ Name's Makoyaki. Dystopiac's older brother, and known as "Mechanic" in our group. If you hear a voice that sounds like a Dalek, it's Clanker, my robotic assistant.

🎴 And I'm Ollie, formerly Ordarius. Don't worry, these five literally punched the order out of me. I've always loved a good game of Hanafuda, you know. I always keep a spare Hanafuda deck on hand, and I'd love to teach you.

🚀 Now that we've gotten our introductions outta the way, what's the scoop on you guys?

Hunter: Whoa, another NSS? How many versions of us are there?!

Jewel: Probably quite a few.

Derek: We should probably introduce ourselves.

Jewel: Right. I'm Julianna, better known as Jewel. I was Agent 3 before being promoted to Captain by our adoptive gramps, Craig Cuttlefish. I'm also the oldest agent here age-wise. Derek and I were trained by the late Agent 4, Maya. We all try not to talk about her often.

Monica: Probably for many good reasons too.

Jewel: ...

Monica: ...

Everyone else: ...

Autumn: ...So, uhh... I'm Autumn, the current Agent 4. I was the youngest agent until Hunter joined us and we found Stitches. Jewel and Derek rescued me from the gang I lived with as an amnesiac until said gang turned against me. Before that, however, I spent some time with the Octolings in the domes, which included Monica.

Monica: *under her breath* And then Maya attacked you and gave you amnesia-

Autumn: *through her teeth* Notice how I left that part out so we could change topics and move on-

Derek: *quickly jumping in to change topics* Monica is Agent 8 and genetically modified to fight better than your average Octolings or Inkling, isn't that right?

Monica: Oh right, yeah I should probably introduce myself. Like Derek said, I've been genetically modified to fight better. *turns and looks at the NSS* Somehow though, I could not beat you guys back then.

Jewel: I guess that's why you were put in charge of the capture unit?

Monica: Yep. And yet every time I captured one of you, you'd either escape or get freed by Ma- I MEAN, a certain someone who we will not name anymore due to all of our differing opinions of her.

Derek: I guess I'll go next. I'm Derek, Agent 5 and the only guy of the group, not counting Bear.

Autumn: *visibly worried* Wait, Bear's not here, is he?

Hunter: Yeah, he is!

*Hunter holds up a Smallfry*

Bear: Bwah.

Autumn: EEEEKKKK!!!!!

Monica: Oh come on, Evelyn, you know about Autumn's trauma with Salmonids!

Derek: Not again...

Stitches: ...Evelyn...Hunter...funny...!

Autumn: GET HIM AWAY FROM ME!!

Derek: And the introduction was going so well...

Jewel: Evelyn Hunter McFinsley, put Bear away now!

Hunter: Okay, okay. *Hunter sets Bear down* Sheesh. Anyways, I'm Evelyn, but I prefer going by my middle name of Hunter. I'm the new Agent 3, but I call myself Neo 3 because it's cooler!

Jewel: And this charming little sanitized Inktoling is Stitches. We're not sure of her true purpose yet but we imagine the plans she was made for weren't good for us.

Stitches: ...Hi...I have...family...

Hunter: Right, we're your family!

Stitches: ...Yes...you and Threads...and Ribbons...and Yarn...

Hunter: ...Huh?

Derek: ...Who?

Jewel: Well, it's getting late, and we've probably kept you all long enough. It was fun meeting you all!

Autumn: Let's meet up again someday!

*Violet holds up a super fancy expensive dress that she brought with her*

Violet: It's time to give you a makeover and save you from your fashion disaster! :3

Jewel: OH COD NO GET AWAY FROM ME-

*Violet chases Jewel everywhere until Jewel finally loses Violet*

Jewel: Oh thank goodness, I think I lost her. There's absolutely no way I'm putting on that dress. It's nice but it's waaaay too fancy and sophisticated for my tastes. I appreciate the fact that she used a weird crossover-causing Inkstrike to get here, but there is no way I'm letting Violet come near me with that dress-

What are your honest thoughts on more Inktoling fusions showing up as of late?

Mainly The Other and that weird Crysamy person I heard about somewhere

The Thing: They're pretty neat, I suppose. However, I UTTERLY HATE THE OTHER. CHEAP KNOCK-OFF FUSION!!

The Other: Blehhh, you're just jealous because we're cooler than you!

The Thing: Shut it!

The Other: Do YOU have cool inkblades you wear on your arms? No? Didn't think so! The Other: 1 - The Thing: 0!

The Thing: Oh my cod, you are so ANNOYING!!

The Other: The Thing? More like The FLOP! OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

*The Thing rolls their eyes at The Other, who is still showing off boastfully*

The Thing: Now Crysamy, however...Hmm...I'd like to duel them one day. One-on-one, although their friends may come along to cheer them on. And whoever my hosts want to be there can come too or whatever, I guess. Hmph. A fusion VS another fusion...who isn't The Other. Sounds fun.
