Splatoon OC of the Week #1 - Autumn
Oh hey! I'm Autumn! You might know me as Agent 4, or maybe this is your first time meeting me. Let me tell you a bit about myself.
I have amnesia. It's gotten better but there are still sizable chunks in my memory that will never get filled in. Honestly maybe it's better they don't...
Before becoming an agent, I woke up in a hospital with no memory of who I was. My tentacles had also been cut, as if someone was trying to keep my identity a secret. No one came looking for me, not even my family. Sometime after I was released from the hospital, a local pickpocketing gang took me in. I lived with them for a year, nameless, until I encountered Jewel and Derek. Long story short, the gang turned on me, Jewel and Derek saved me from getting beaten up, and we all ended up getting briefly arrested for our brawl in Deca Tower's lobby. Afterwards I ended up naming myself Autumn, and moved in with Jewel and Derek.
I became Agent 4 when I was 14, and pretty much only became Agent 4 because I had followed my friends Jewel and Derek to Octo Canyon to see where they were going, and consequently got captured by Monica and her two underlings, Alecs and Kimberly. Yep! Monica was our sworn enemy at the time. I kinda knew too much about the New Squidbeak Splatoon at that point, so I was given the Agent 4 title and gear by Captain Cuttlefish, and it's been my job for the past seven years.
I was actually the new Agent 4. The one before me, Maya, had been assassinated in Splatsville earlier that week. I never knew Maya personally, but her loss took a toll on Jewel and Derek. Jewel especially. Maya had been their mentor when they first joined the New Squidbeak Splatoon. Jewel and Derek took on her role as mentor and taught me everything I needed to know.
We had our clashes with Monica and other Octolings, but nothing really major happened until just before Derek got captured. I began having brief flashes of memory - nothing I couldn't exactly figure out at the time. It was only after Derek's rescue when it started getting clearer. The biggest thing I remembered was that I had a sister named Cassandra, survived getting eaten by a Megalodontia on vacation, and was rescued by Octolings in the domes.
Well, "rescued" is a generous term. I was captured the moment they found me in that Megalodontia's mouth. It turns out, while I was there, I actually joined Monica's squadron. That's right, an Inkling in the Octoling army! As it turns out, Maya infiltrated one day and kidnapped me. I refused to go with her, so she ambushed me with a surprise attack and gave me a haircut so no one would recognize me before dropping me off at the hospital. Pretty crazy stuff, right?
There's more to my story - finding out what happened to my family, time travel, getting sanitized and then unsanitized, remembering more of my past after a traumatic encounter with Jewel and Cassandra, getting captured by our arch nemesis Skylar Rose, meeting my partner Kaden, running for my life from one of the assassins who took out Maya, fighting with my past self - but I'm sure I've bored you by now.
