First and foremost I’m not here to tell anyone how to feel. I’m sharing my opinion which is that overacting like this over ONE game is a choice. Canceling jersey orders, selling tickets getting mad at Paige, Jose and Curt… All because Azzi (a ROOKIE) wasn’t utilized the way you think she should’ve been? Let me explain something. The situation Azzi walked into is very different than Paige. So if you’re expecting her season to go the way Paige’s did you’re gonna be disappointed. And I’m not talking in terms of stats or talent. Because we know what Azzi is capable of. This is me reminding you that Paige was quite literally MISERABLE last season. She had no vets, no coach, no help and was being run to the ground after playing a long college season. Why on earth would you want Azzi to experience that? Azzi doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone. So wanting her to have certain stats just to prove people wrong about their irrelevant opinion of her is a waste of time. Every single rookie in the league has had an adjustment period. Azzi is no different. And if Jose didn’t feel like she was ready for the absolutely insane pressure that comes with playing Indy at home that’s okay. It was her very first professional game. That’s a lot for a rookie to take on. Even our vets were a bit rattled at times in that atmosphere. But at the end of the day Jose has only spoken highly of Azzi. He’s going to push her. And if she’s out there being hesitant he’s going to bench her. She doesn’t look quite comfortable yet and that’s okay. But everyone should be given some grace. I know everyone thinks Azzi needs to be protected and I love how hard y’all ride for her but it gets to a point where it’s doing more harm than good. Azzi spoke about how happy she is on and off the court and every time we see her she’s smiling ear to ear. Maybe take a page out of her book and not make wins feel like losses. That was a huge win for them yesterday and yet socials were more negative than they were for losses last season.

Cause people have every right to feel any way they want to feel. I don’t understand adding on to the online vitriol and giving the haters yet another avenue to be awful towards her but that’s just me. I’m seeing known homophobes quoting huge fan accounts and saying see even they know she’s trash and only got drafted for her gf/Oh they crashing out. And other dumb shit. I leave that shit in the gc. But if ppl want to express that online that’s their right. But EYE don’t think anyone has the right to @ her parents, her teammates, coworkers, coaches and girlfriend saying trade her - yall hate her and are trying to sabotage her career, etc. That crosses so many parasocial lines. Wondering why she didn’t start or get used in a more meaningful way is one thing cause I was pissed at how she wasn’t getting looks but getting in Paige and Jose’s comments and saying I knew you hated her and don’t want her to do well is a whole other thing and I’m not sure why people are pretending that’s not what most people are talking about when they say people are taking things too far. That’s not protecting or advocating for Azzi cause she doesn’t know you but those are her loved ones and coworkers you are harassing. If her mom taking her picture in front of a coworker embarrassed her - finding out her fans are harassing them in their comments probably isn’t going to feel good. Also wanting your favorite player to play her first home game in an empty arena is wild. Some folks just have agendas and online standom and it’s not about Azzi as a person tbh. I’ll be there and I know a lot of her ride or dies will be there as well. I’ve been a fan since seeing her ball out at U16 as the youngest to ever make that team and it’s never gonna change. She’s always been amazing and it’s not gonna stop now.

I adore her so much. Also her saying Pazzi in that one video is still like a fever dream 😂 Like objectively I knew she knew the ship name cause she’s been acknowledging it for years online - since at least 2021 if not before iirc - but her saying it was so funny.
