I enjoy a few different medias but this is a Transformers blog, so aside from a few mentions this will be purely Transformers + some random personal things lol

Does anyone have any fic recs where Knockout and Breakdown are swapped? And I mean in the way of which Knockout is the one kidnapped and/or killed and taken over by Silas, instead of Breakdown? Iāve seen very little content over it and I need to read more fics because itās genuinely such a good concept.
For people looking for the same thing as I am, thereās ONE fic that I have found (thanks to a TikTok commenter, but still) called Scarlet Blade by AuthorsANutCase on Ao3. Instead of BD getting kidnapped and cut open, itās KO.
I love that in Cyberverse, while the Decepticons are still a threat, they're also just kinda fucking stupid and silly in a way that lets them be characters OUTSIDE of evil. Imma just list the things that I thought were funny / silly / interesting
Megatron told the Decepticons to kill Optimus Prime and they'll be rewarded as Meg's new SIC (Starscream died, lmao), and Shockwave and Soundwave proceed to spend the entire episode trying to sabotage the other in very comedic ways
SOUNDWAVE WALKS UP TO SHOCKWAVE PLAYING INTIMIDATION MUSIC IT'S AMAZING
Soundwave in general. He has a theme for everything. He likes party dances. His favorite music genre is EDM and his favorite song is Decpacito because "he thinks it sounds very sad." All this while still being scary and baddass in plenty of scenes. (Also his voice is hot)
Slipstream seems scary and intimidating when she's with Windblade and Bumblebee, but then you see her actually COMMANDING the Seekers and realize that she acts like a tired and stressed mother. Also, the Seekers call her "sir" and it just makes me very happy. Agender Slipstream for the win!
Globber and Lockdown are literally the "OK š" reaction meme anytime Soundwave and Shockwave tell them to do something. They do realize they can say no to things... right?
Shockwave and Slipstream calling the Seekers "low intelligence" šššš. Out of all the Seekers though, I think Thundercracker is the most low intelligence one. I wanna make a compilation of Slipstream and him bcuz they're really fucking funny to me
Acid Storm is gender fluid and nonbinary. Their frame changes from a male frame a female frame often and, despite being reffered to with male probouns by Hasbro, they're voiced by Jamie Lamchick. This makes me happy
Shadowstriker and Soundwave are friends, apparently
Megatron has Optimus on speed dial. And Optimus answered immediately. This helps my theory that they just got a divorce and they're just bringing everyone down along with them
They had Hot Rod on their ship and surrounded by Decepticons, and they lost him because they were uncoordinated as hell. HOW DUMB DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO LOSE A PRISONER LIKE THAT????
I'm watching this show and I keep thinking, "The Autobots are so chaotic. Optimus is like a tired dad who loves his kids but is also just tired. How did they win?" And then I watched the Decepticons and went, "Oh. It's like thr same thing. Except Megatron is an angry mother and Slipstream is the oldest daughter trying to keep this batshit family from completely going off the rails." And yeah, some people might not like this angle in Cyberverse, but my toxic traits is that my favorite transformers episodes are the ones where the characters are just dicking around, so this is absolutely amazing to me.
Iām usually not one to personally headcanon many things for characters, but Acid Storm may forever be genderfluid and/or nonbinary in my head now (also ngl I didnāt notice the difference in frame types between the seekers, so when I go back to finish the series Iāll need to pay attention to stuff like that-)
Also I adore the idea of agender Slipstream, and it works either way, but I will say that āSirā is often used as a title to show authority/show respect for said authority, no matter the gender! :D
I feel so bad but I laughed SO hard when I first watched this ep. Cause why did he do thisš like I get it was to gain favour with whoever this was live streamed to (neutrals, humans, idk), but still like, whyš
TFA Optimus has 0 tolerance for Megatron and I absolutely adore that about him. šš»
Yes, there is incredible honor and value in the way other Primes uphold mercy, forgiveness, second chances, etc, extending such things to their greatest enemy even in the face of all the evil he's done.
But sometimes it seems like the other Primes just refuse to accept how depraved and dangerous Megatron *actually* is. They see how much suffering, death, and destruction he causes. They know he's ruthless and manipulative, and cares about no one but himself. And because (insert universe-specific reason here), none of them have a single absolute boundary that they're willing to uphold against him. They ultimately let Megatron cross as many lines as he wants, without truly holding him accountable for doing so.
And it REALLY upsets me.
(It should be noted I have only watched Transformers: Animated and Transformers Prime. I'm merely aware of the general relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron as they are reincarnated throughout all the Transformers continuities.)
TFA Optimus is an incredible breath of fresh air because he does have boundaries Megatron can't cross. He may not be able to recognize when his fellow Bots treat him like shit (cough cough Ultra Magnus & Sentinel Prime & Blackarachnia cough cough). But he does hold Megatron fully accountable for his actions/choices, and makes no excuses to avoid doing so.
And he's not less of a hero, or less of a Prime, for diverging like that.
TFA Optimus shows longsuffering love and patience to those under his command, earning the "honorary dad" status that Primes are known to acquire. He values and respects all forms of life equally, refusing to discriminate against organics after their involvement in one of his most traumatic memories. He sees himself as a single, functioning part of an infinitely bigger and monumentally important purpose. And he aultimately forms his most unbreakable bond with the person most determined to rebel against him (aka Prowl).
I believe it's no coincidence that TFA Optimus is the only iteration of the character that has ever fully accepted Megatron for what he is and also successfully defeated/killed him. And I wish we had more Primes like that.
His hesitation across a lot of continuities stems a lot from their past. As Megatron said in (what I believe is but could be wrong) Transformers: Dark of the Moon, āWe were brothers once.ā In many continuities, they were friends, brothers, and/or sort of mentor and mentee (TFP). His reserves, while also just straight up coming from the fact that he doesnāt like killing, come from a belief that all sentient beings possess the potential for change, and his knowledge of who Megatron used to be. He knew Megatron not just as the warlord that he became, but a friend, and part of him is afraid to kill him because heās afraid that would mean that he would kill his friend for good. That any chance Megatron had to become who he used to be would be finalized and gone.
Meanwhile TFA Optimusāwhile Iām sure he doesnāt exactly like killing eitherādoes not quite have the same morals as most other Optimuses do. As someone who trained in the Elite Guard (even if he ended up getting expelled), Iām sure heās been taught that if he or someone else is in life threatening danger, not to be afraid to use lethal force. The best example for this would be the police (āLaw enforcement and correctional officers of the Department of Justice may use deadly force only when necessary, that is, when the officer has a reasonable belief that the subject of such force poses an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury to the officer or to another personā justice.gov 1-16.200). Alongside this, he has no connection to him aside from the knowledge that he is a warlord who has killed many, and has tried to kill him and his friends. Unlike many of his counterparts, he doesnāt know who Megatron used to be, or if there ever even was someone worth saving before we got the Megatron we know in TFA. He doesnāt excuse Megatronās actions because he sees them in full, without his vision or actions being tainted by the mech Megs used to be.
Sorry for any confusing things I may have said. It is 2AM and my brain is mush. I am just explaining, agreeing, and ranting, lol.

I was watching Gās Shift at Midnight streams, and just noticed something. The first time around, the ā???ā Told them they seemed kind, and, if I remember correctly, asked for help. That first time, they hadnāt (barely at least) killed any humans, only doppelgƤngers. The second time, with Jim, it told them they owed it life, and to come out back. A demand. That second time they hadnāt killed any killed humans.
Idk itās just interesting. Both times itās guilt tripping them in a way (Theyāre born from guilt). The second time is obvious. Theyāve taken life, so itās guilt tripping them into thinking they need to give life, as well. The first time is less obvious, but itās guilt tripping them by basically saying āyou seem kind. Youāve helped others. Wonāt you help us, too?ā If that makes any sense. Idk. Anyways Iām really enjoying these Shift at Midnight streams. Love when GIGGS play non-PG games. Really sad that I missed the second one live, though. I wasnāt busy, I just donāt think I saw the notification twitch gave me :(

Ultra Magnus and reeeally bad puns....
Ratchet at IRL slapstick humor...
Smokescreen trips over his own pede and causes a domino effect of bots tripping over each other. Arcee or Wheeljack or what have you opens their intake to complain about Smokescreen being clumsy, only to hear boisterous laughter.
All of their heads turn like a cartoon to see Ratchetā stern, bossy, ENERGON DEPRIVED, stressed 24/7 Ratchetā doubled over laughing. Iām talking tears in the corners of his optics, stomach hurting, having to grab onto his desk so he doesnāt fall over laughing.
Itās like when youāre really tired so everything becomes astronomically more funny. Ratchet hardly sleeps. This should be fragging hysterical to him. He tries to brush it off with a cough and a grumble when he notices everyone looking at him, but Team Prime takes this as a challenge. They start a prank war on each other and each bot gets points for getting Ratchet to laugh.
Bonus points if Ultra Magnus somehow gets roped into it in season three. The stakes are highest in that season, Ratchet is working overtime, and thereās a lot less levity/time for rest.
The prank war is at a standstill not only because of the more pressing matters, but because nobody can seem to get Ratchet to laugh at anything. Poor old man doesnāt find anything funny because heās stretching himself incredibly thin for āthe sake of the teamā :(
Ultra Magnus finds his footing in the team eventually. He finds the scoreboard for the prank war (Optimus is winning, but Wheeljack and Smokescreen are tied for runner up somehow. They do a bunch of dumb slapstick stuff, probably.)
In his attempt to āteam bondā, Ultra Magnus pulls a very harmless prank that is rather poorly executed. Think water (solvent) bucket positioned over a door except the door is slightly too open so someone could just walk through without triggering it. He set it up properly the first time, but made it easier to walk through just in case someone had to run through the door to get to a fight or something. Safety first and all that.
Ultra Magnus forgets about it and eventually pushes the door further open himself, drenching himself in solvent and landing him a bucket on his helm.
Ratchet was aware of the prank war, just not that the challenge was to make him laugh. He watched Magnus set the trap up and was too engrossed in his work to really be worried about it.
That said, when Ultra Magnus falls into his own trap, it startles a bark of laughter out of the Medic. He quickly clears his intake and schools his expression, but obviously that did not go unnoticed.
It felt nice, to see that stress fade from Ratchetās faceplates. Even if just for a split second. I mean, Ultra Magnus didnāt get to see a lot of Ratchetās silly side because of how the third season is. LET HIM BE SILLYYYYYY
The rest of the team ropes him into their red-string-and-cork-board-theory discussions on the best way to make Ratchet laugh. Yes, Optimus is in on it. He thinks itās hilarious but the only sign of that is his small, gentle smile. However, thereās a mischievous sparkle in his optics that hints at a playfulness OP doesnāt often allow himself to display.
Optimus also has a bunch of jokes in his metaphorical pocket that reaaaally get Ratchet. Theyāve known each other for millions and millions of years, thereās no way they donāt have inside jokes.
Optimus keeps slipping them into casual conversation, as well. Heāll be talking to Bumblebee or something like:
āCybertron will be whole again, my friend. Renewal is like a Vosian spire, as they say.ā
Itās like. An immature phallic joke or something. Ratchet has to pull this face to keep himself from laughing:
I feel like I shouldāve watched Cyberverse before Transformers Animated and RiD15. Purely because it made me like Slipstream and Windblade way more, and I probably would have at least tried appreciating and understanding their characters more compared to how I originally did. I donāt know why, but while originally watching TFA and RiD15, I didnāt really care much for either of them, but Iām now in the middle of watching Cyberverse, and Iāve ended up appreciating them much more.
I KNOW I would have enjoyed at least Slipstreamās character more in TFA if I had watched Cyberverse first. Not sure about Windblade though, so Iāll have to rewatch RiD15.
