god i can't believe ohba and obata introduced the literal characters of all time and were like oh btw they were raised to be the next L which resulted in irreparable psychological issues that only each other could ever possibly understand but these issues have also simultaneously driven them apart so they have to suffer alone and then they never gave us any resolution to that at all. one of them died and one of them lives with immeasurable grief and the soul-crushing burden of a mirage he'll always chase but never really live up to because he only has half of himself intact and we're just supposed to live with that. what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck
