Elizabeth Bennet | ÂŤPride & PrejudiceÂť (2005)
The Storm | Rebecca & WillÂ
tfwwilliamâ:
This was where he lived â this disintegrated castle stranded in the middle of forested wilderness had become his home. In truth, it was the grandest estate heâd ever inhabited, both in the sense that it was a fortified castle seated upon acres roving as far as the eye could see, and in the sense that it was a crumbling ruin. How had he ever thought he might make things work with Rebecca Turner?
Now, that once-cherished hope felt nothing short of a fancy as she stood, stiff and dreading, gazing up through the holes in the ceiling of one of the more intact rooms, through which water was churning like a waterfall. Will, nearby, angled his head upward to gaze at the angry heavens, all dark bellied and thunderous wrath. No, he certainly did not want her to venture, dragonback, into the skies, just now. This was not a moment for pushing her away.
âBecca,â he said softly even through the thick gravel native to his voice.  âCome sit where thereâs a fire. Itâs warm; thereâs food and drink and booksâŚand an open porch to watch the storm,â he added with a smirk. This, after all, was the most positive light be could shine on the missing wall. He paused.  âEven if you and your drake, both, were entirely game â Iâd donât think youâd get far.  Your family wonât be expecting you with the skies as they are, and thereâs no one who requires your help, just now. May as well rest, hm?â
Seeing Will situated here, while the dangerous storm swirled about them, recalled memories of sleepless stormy nights when sheâd stay awake until the rain had stopped and then climb on the back of her dragon and fly to the encampment, just to make sure that Will was alright. The storms were dangerous could be enough, but it was worse to know that he was taking shelter in a half dilapidated structure. He would laugh at her when she told him why she had come (it would take more than a storm to kill me, heâd said), but it was clear to them both that he was happy that she had come. He would take her in his arms then, and she would barely notice the cold.
Despite everything, she worried about him, still, but no unnecessary trips were ever made here, anymore.
Sometimes it was hard to believe that he was the same man that she had loved: he kept that softer side of him closer to the vest now. He had a smile that would reach his eyes and light them up and he had a laugh that was one of the best sounds in the world: both of those things seemed to be locked away (at least when she was around - when once it seemed that there was a time when they could hardly keep from smiling when they were around each other).
Becca followed his instructions and moved closer in, taking a seat in one of the old (but comfortable chairs) that was near the roaring fire. âThe best view in all of Aclea,â She said teasingly. âHave you seen Roland today?â She asked, after a moment. âI hope he isnât caught up in this.â
It was concentration in her eyes, now, he was sure. Â Gods knew heâd seen that look before, a keen look, and incisive. Â Always, that determination had entranced him, a kind of veil she seemed to pull up against the world. Â Once, heâd sought to step behind that mantel with her, cut off from the intrusions of the outer world. Â Now, he stood firmly where he was, determined never again to know that warmth.
Lightning split the sky, a flash to shatter the skies above, and Will was reminded strangely of the myths his mother had once told: Apollon in his wroth. Â Yet, there was not war in that blaze, now, only some strange want and he nearly laughed to think how easily mortals assigned their own troubles to the gods above. Â It was not Apollonâs want that he felt, of course.
Eyes flicking away from Rebecca, he exhaled slowly, unleashing the held in breath and hoping that the cold did not smoke on his lips, unveiling the held-in tension.
âHere,â he said, more softly than heâd meant, and he wrapped a coverlet of furs around her shoulders. Â He smiled, taking a seat by hers. Â She already knew better than most that this strange ruin held many comforts of home â sheâd ensured it, herself.
Chuckling, he arched a brow towards her. Â âNot even our ill-begotten King may boast such views as these.â
At her question, he grimaced, a spike of concern rushing through him.  âTruth be told, last I saw him, he was off to the Dragonhold to stand in for his double.  Hopefully, the storm has grounded Horation and prevented anyâŚmeetings.â  Horatio did ever prove a resourceful ally, at least, in ensuring that Rolandâs antics were not discovered â more effective, he somtimes suspected, than Roland, himself, for Allerdale might have been a bastard, but he was careful and precise where Roland was, by Willâs count, reckless (a trait which had always brought no end of concern for his friend).
âIn any case, Iâm certain the manâs in for surprises whenever he should happen to return home. Â Tell me, what was the last mishap he conjured for you lot there?â
âHe does that more frequently than I would like,â Rebecca admitted when he told her where Roland was. She knew that she and William agreed upon this: that much, at least, had not changed. But Roland was a reckless sort and he ended up pushing the limits further than, perhaps, he should because he knew that it was also in Horatioâs interest not to be discovered. However, all it would take would be for someone to see them together and they would both be done for.Â
When faced with this point, he would only laugh and respond with: You forget, Iâd be taking Allerdale down with me!Â
(He often ignored Rebeccaâs retort that Allerdale would only end up being replaced with someone who was impossible to impersonate and they would have lost a valuable member (and friend!) in the process).Â
âBut I suppose thereâs not much that can be done about that. Heâs equally as stubborn as Eleanor and Isabella. I think, perhaps, he may have been a bad influence,â She smiled, softly -- the irritation in her voice stemmed from affection (but also frustration that those she loved could not be kept from harm, every moment of every day). She did not feel the need to confess that she, too, could be just as stubborn as any of them.Â
Drawing the furs closer about her shoulders, her gaze drifted to the view of the storm. âHeâs desperate,â Rebecca spoke now of Allerdale. âHe does not like that the Fae Finders have been called in attempts to discover us. Iâm sure heâs fearful that they will discover him, too, and so his efforts have been doubled. I donât think he has any idea where we are, but you need to be especially careful. I think it is only a matter of time before they find this place and you cannot be here when they do.âÂ

Winterâs Tale || Rebecca + Eleanor
Eleanor made an attempt to tug lose the braids on her head but they were quite secure.Â
âI know it is a tradition but why,â Eleanor groaned to her eldest sister. It was a conversation that theyâd had multiple times in the weeks leading up to Yuletide.Â
âThe last thing I want to do is be escorted around by some man I donât know. I donât even want to be escorted about by any man I do know,â she continued, continuing to poke at the braids. Her sister had done an impressive job.
Eleanor was much happier when she could wear her hair down. It was always a bit wild and untamed and often got in her way, but that didnât matter. It made her feel restrained and something about this braided hairstyle was amplifying that feeling.Â
âIf I am paired with Robert Persimmons, I will throw myself off the roof,â Eleanor announced before pulling a King cake (which she had stolen from the kitchen earlier) from her pocket and taking a bite from it. âOr Horatio. Or Mallerton,â she continued, growing more and more irritated with both her hairstyle and the impending festivities.
Another bite of the king cake.
âOr I might simply throw myself off the roof because of these braids! Why must we give into Mariaâs ridiculous demands about hairstyles?â she finally exclaimed. Â
âIf you are paired with any of those gentlemen, I give you leave to do so,â She was only half-teasing as she said this, âI feel even Maria would, at the least, take pause before wishing one of them to become her son-in-law, which certainly means they would be insufferable as a Yuletide partner.â Maria had, at one time, had thought favorably enough of all of them to wish a marriage between them and any of the girls, but after living with Robert Persimmons for months upon end, even she was beyond wishing a match with him, or anyone who had a hand in placing him there.Â
âI do not believe the gods will be that cruel. Weâve all suffered enough at their hands, already. And if you do not believe that, know that the odds are also in your favor.â At least they were not to draw one of those specific three, but Rebecca knew that the odds that the gentleman in question would be a partner Eleanor favored were slim to none. Aclea was in desperate want of tolerable young men.Â
âHere, let me,â Rebecca didnât wait for a response to begin assisting Eleanor with her hair. It was a mess: sheâd made it worse when she attempted to fix it, and Rebecca set to work completely undoing her braids: it seemed she would have to begin at the start. âWe do it because all of us seem firmly to refuse any opportunity we have at marriage and I suppose we ought to do something to make our step-mother happy. Braiding oneâs hair once a year is a much smaller, less permanent thing to do.â
There was much frustration to be found around Maria: her endless worries about the girls and their futures seemed to be all she thought of and it was easy to forget why she was in their lives in the first place. Their father loved her dearly and she had made him happy again, something that should not be forgotten. And while Rebecca was not about to marry anyone, just now, she was not above doing something small to show Maria that they did care for some of her opinions.Â
âI think you underestimate Mariaâs dislike for me,â Eleanor replied to her sister. âI am certain if any of those gentlemen were to wish to marry me and get me out of her home, she would be most glad. Thankfully Persimmons is too easily distracted to actually propose marriage or else I assume she would be begging father to force me into that union. Hence,â Eleanor stood then on the edge of her sisterâs bed, teetering precariously, arms outstretched, âThe roof may be the only option,â she concluded before jumping off, landing on the ground with a thump before sitting on the edge of the bed so that Rebecca might fix the disaster she had created upon her own head.Â
Eleanor did not find herself drawn to much of the religious ideals of Aclea. The idea that gods and goddesses were what would seal her fate and for that reason she must feel beholden to them was an idea the youngest sister of the Turner household utterly detested. Sheâd made this point known many times but, mostly due to her fatherâs influence, had begun to hold her tongue on the subject and partake in the events for the sake of her family.Â
Eleanor let out a sigh of relief as Rebecca released her hair from its tight confines. âI wish she and Papa would simply have a baby so she might focus all her attention upon it and not us,â Eleanor grumbled. âWeâve done perfectly well without a mother for years and certainly donât need one now.â
âIf you could pick anyone out of the stupid cup of manly escorts, who would you chose?â Eleanor inquired, glancing up at her sister who, thankfully, was restyling her hair much less tightly than it had been.Â
âI think that is a bit unfair. Even Maria must know how often is she likely to encounter them as a future son-in-law. I do not think she is so desperate to see you married yet. You forget, you have four unmarried older sisters who should marry first.âÂ
Rebecca was the eldest and, therefore, was quite often Mariaâs main focus. Time, as she was often reminded, was running out for her. She often wondered how old she must be before Maria gave up on her entirely. Something told her it would be long after society had already marked her an old maid.Â
She settled next to her sister after her dramatic jump from the bed. âHmm, just remember I only give you leave to throw yourself from the roof if it is one of those three gentlemen in question. Anyone else, and I shall be very angry with you for any injuries you may sustain.â
Rebecca had to laugh when Eleanor suggested that Maria and her father have a baby. She often wondered if, perhaps, father wanted another child (a son this time, perhaps?) and she did believe that it may make Maria happy, too, but she wondered how much Eleanor would like no longer being the baby of the family and while it would certainly distract Maria (which she was sure would be to Eleanorâs benefit), it would likely distract father as well. âPerhaps they will. And if itâs a girl, we can all bombard poor Maria with engagement prospects for her daughter as frequently as she has done for us.â She teased.
Rebecca had had her fair share of Yuletide escorts (some good, some bad -- one was especially awful) but she had never had been lucky enough to select whoever was her first choice that particular year. Â
âOh, Roland, of course,â She replied, without a second thought. He was a safe choice (and an honest one), although perhaps not what her sister had been after (she suspected that she had hoped for something a little more exciting. âOr perhaps William Abbott,â She found herself saying aloud, before she considered how her sister might read that response, âBut only so he isnât as likely to ruin another young ladies Yuletide. He isnât always someone Iâd call especially festive.â
Although he could be. And he was, often, when they had been happy. But those days seemed so far away now.Â
âWhat about you? If you could choose your own partner, who might it be?âÂ

ooc | Rebecca & Owen
~that awkward moment when your ex wants to extract revenge on you and your entire family and you donât know it~
Did you have any thoughts about their relationship, btw? Iâm guessing that it was over before THAT time with papa turner haha? I can see them honestly ending things tbh because of Will (#whoops) or maybe that Becca thought that Owen might be a little too extreme since heâs out for revenge instead of justice or maybe just a combination of those things ++ maybe some other stuff idk???
owen: hi, sexy bex, miss me? *under his breath* burn baby burnnnnÂ
alskdjflksdjkff jk jk i do think he feels lowkey baD about like dragging rebecca into this buT if alistair gonna take owenâs mom from owen, heâs gonna take alistairâs children from alistair ig alksdjfkldj bc he may or may not have been totally inspired by emily thorne/count of monte cristo but shhhh you didnât hear that from me alkjdflkjsdf
annnnnyywayyyy, im totally up for whatever, re: their previous attachment, even a one-sided thing, if that works best for what youâd pictured for her! Â but yeah it defff wouldâve happened before papa turner left owen and his fam to fight for themselves and owenâs mama diEddd and owen started blaming alistair for it alsdkfjksldf but i def love the ideas you mentioneddd!! but yeah sdlkjfklsdf omg thatâd be such bad timing if she leaves him for will and then her dad leaves him in order to help her and his mom dies alskjdafkljdsfkj IM A TERRIBLE PERSON but im laughing so hard rn likE?????? omg??????
ANYWAYYYYY i also deffff feel like his increasing extremism was almost def a problem in their relationship and, if it wasnât yet, it was ~going to be and that wrting was probs, at the v least, already on the wall bc he was always like *anakin skywalker voice* âthatâs not good enough!â at meetings and alkdsjfkljsd i mean, spoiler alert for upcoming characters, but after he left/his mom died, etc, he literally ended up teaming up w a person who strings up/burns at the stake/murders public-execution-style innocent mages just bc theyâre mages which is literally what she as a fae is fighting against happening to fae so al;ksdjflkjsdf heâs got some issuesssss
also potentially in the âsome other stuffâ category, the fact that heâŚjust left likeeee they mightâve been on the outs and he just left tho tbh heâs more the type to burn his bridges (*wink, wink* im playing a pyromancer this is noT the last flame pun youâre gonna here) first bc heâs a messy bitch who lives for the drama lksjdflkjsdajkf
but basically!!!!! im down for whateverrrrr!!!!!!
rebecca: I think itâs time I stopped dating men from the rebellionÂ
Okay, so Iâve thought about it a little more, and I do think that it was definitely a mutual thing. I also think that her feelings for Will would have been a reason that she left him, however I donât think that she would have straight up left him for Will??? Like, I think she would realize that she cared for someone else more and that would have been a huge part of it, but she wouldnât have exactly went from one to another, yâknow? I definitely think she would have given herself time and honestly probably wasnât even sure if Will returned the feelings either, but she diD know that she had fallen out of love with Owen and that was enough.Â
I also think that his more extreme ideals definitely played a part in it. I think she understood where he came from, but also thought that he would eventually come around and realize that his measures made him just as bad as them â and that they shouldnât be out for revenge, but I feel like her trying to reason with him would only make things worse, not better, and while she would always try to resolve things, I do think that there was probably still some tension surrounding that subject.Â
Iâm not sure if Will and Becca became a thing before or after Owen left, but I do think that he could also probably tell that there was at least ~something~ between them and I donât think that it helped that Rebecca would probably also always side against him and with Will whenever those arguments arose about what to do.Â
As far as how they actually ended up breaking up, officially, Iâm definitely open to him just kind of leaving or if it was more defined (whatever you think???)Â
Iâm guessing Becca thought he died??? (IDK if they know he was/is a pirate now??) but either way I donât think she will be very receptive to him trying to get back with her. I think part of her will always care for him, of course (they didnât get together for nothinâ!) but there were also lots of very good reasons why things ended ⌠not mention her own personal and romantic life are already a little complicated right now aslkfjsalfjÂ
kladjsfklajs dakjfs ddaf honestly tho hahaha she deservs better <3333
(i think i mightâveâŚmisphrased some stuff bc i didnât meant to imply that he would leave her in like a mutual thing, (i mean, im sure thereâs defa circumstance in which he would do that donât get me wrongâŚbut) i meant that he would notice more and more her longing looks at will and irritated ones at himself and just likeâŚstand her up a couple times, start to ignore her, and then maybe even show up at some event he knew she was gonna be at w ~someone else before ~she could break up w ~him bc lakjsdlfkjkdjsf thatâs the way you do that ;DDD  as terrible as this ~is tho i think in his way??? its weirdly meant as much to be compassionate as to be spiteful, so she doesnât have to feel bad about ending things??? but also so he can feel he still has power in the relationship and didnât just wait around to get rejected????? idk???? Heâs weird aklsdjfkljdsfk idk what to tell you laksjdfkljdsf)
but!!!! that being said!!! im totally down for this! Â i think it makes a ton of sense that owen would actually be a stepping stone in realizing she had feels for will, but also her playing it cool and being patient and respectful of everyoneâs feelings <3333333 angel <333333
i def think they wouldâve been arguing more and more and more towards the end!!!! esp as he got more and more radical and she was objecting and aklsdjfkljdsf yeahhhhh it probs wasnât ~great ngl but tbh it probs only got worse when they broke up bc i do think he was tryna hold on to some ~better self~ while he was w her and after that he was just sorta like âforget this i donât need to hold myself back for some better angel what i need is changEâ etc
tbh???? i can also see, in the heat of argument esp if she was defending will to him or smth â bc i know he was jelly af whenever heâd walk in and see will and rebecca chatting or whatever â him accusing her of having feels for will or being w will secretly or whatever and tbh he probs didnât mean it but once it was said it was said and yeah :/
tbh im not sure when will and rebecca got together, either, but i def think he was nursing a thing for her for a while and just like âsheâs too good for me itll never happen but that wonât stop me from loving her from afarâ kinda thing so honestly any time she was game he was probs 1) star struck and 2) totally game hahaha
but anyway back to owen alkdjsfkjdsf i do think everyone thinks heâs dead and heâs probs not surprised to find that out esp since the fae finders wouldâve returned like âyeah we sunk that shipâ and yeahhh!! Â
but yeah i think he knows he kinda imploded that relationship but!!!i think heâs coming back a âreformedâ man who isnât here to get back w her but just here to try to reclaim his friendships after everything heâs lost and be a better man and start over fresh w a clean slate and do good etc etc etc ;DDD and heâs hoping he can from there maneuver things ;DDDDDD but yeah heâs coming back to ask for forgiveness ;DDDDD
Okay gotcha!! That makes sense.Â
Hahaha ngl I kinda like the idea of their official break-up going down b/c he went to some party with another girl and like I think they were probably both ready for the relationship to be over tbh, but I also I feel like the ~fizzle out~ method probably didnât also give the relationship a whole lot of closure either lmao. I also think that Becca would have also been really hurt by that, too??? Like sheâs not in love w/ him anymore but yeah him feeling like he still had power in the relationship would have worked in that moment.Â
But yeah! I agree w/ everything else that you said and I do think that Rebecca would probably be receptive to an Owen who is ~back from the dead~ and ~reformed~ I feel like sheâs not a fan of how things were between them when he left even if she was often angry with him and it just felt so much worse, too, when she found out that he was dead. (Because of this, I think she also has a softer version of him in her memories, too? Like since she thought he was dead, somehow he wasnât as bad at his worst she she remembers him, if that makes sense? And I think sheâd be more prone to believe that heâs changed if sheâs already gone through that moarning period for him, yaâknow?)Â Â
OOC | Ambrose & Rebecca
so tbh ambrose is the embodiment of that âis this a peasant joke im too rich to understand?â meme so like adlsjfkjdsf idk why heâd be talking to rebecca but!! if he ever does!! im so sorry in advance alsdjfkljsdfj but anyway im thinking maybe since sheâs an admiralâs daughter, for alistairâs official retirement, there was a lil event at valenmouth which maybe resulted in them meeting or smth idek!! alsdkfjklsdf just putting that out there for whatever its worth alsdfjsdjf
hahaha tbh I feel like Rebecca avoids this man like the actual plague (especially since she literally liVES with Robert Persimmons ... thereâs barely enough room for 1 ridiculous man in her life, let alone 2!). I also think she was like @ Isabella, please do not be serious about Aloysius, b/c that means Ambrose will be family!!!! Honestly, I feel like when Aloysius and Isabella were ~together~ was probably when Rebecca tried to give him the time of day but now that they donât really have that connection anymore, I feel like she just tries to push Robert on him if heâs ever around!

The End of Spring | Rebecca & Lucy
Despite the fact there was an open book in front of her, Lucy had been lost in thought and nearly jumped when she heard her sisterâs voice.
âHe has been quite the upheaval in our lives,â Lucy said with a sigh, moving over so that Rebecca might join her on the blanket.
âI saw him following Eleanor as she left to walk into the town today. She found an old broom in the garden and I think meant to take a swing at him. â
Though all the family was tired of what seemed to be an endless time with their lodger, no one had become as openly annoyed with it as their youngest sister. Luckily Robert seemed utterly blind to her true emotions.
âI suppose that will have him even more convinced she is in love with him⌠I do wonder what goes on inside Robert Persimmonâs head.â
Lucy closed the book in front of her, staring at the cover for a moment before turning to her sister.
âWould it be a terrible scandal if I were to accompany a man to the library at Valenmouth?â Lucy asked, the words sounded odd as she spoke them, however Rebecca was the closest thing she had to a mother. She would tell her if this proposed outing with Aulus was a terrible idea.
Rebecca laughed, âIâm surprised this would only be the first time. Surely Mr. Persimmons has done more than enough to warrant it.â Really, Eleanor should be congratulated: he had focused more attention on her than any of the other girls and she had yet to have her dragon make him believe that he would be eaten if he spoke to her again. Things could have been much worse for him than he realized. âIâm sure sheâd have to do better than that though, to deter his affections: surely he would make up some excuse as to how this act of aggression certainly must have stemmed from all of her frustrations on not yet being offered, officially, the position of being his wife. We poor females are never in control of such overpowering emotions that we often result in such behaviors.â
She laughed again and took a seat next to her sister. She hadnât expected the next thing for Lucy to ask her would be about visiting the Valenmouth library ⌠with a man.Â
She arched an eyebrow and couldnât help but give her sister an amused smile that stemmed from both astonishment and curiosity. Had it been their younger sister asking such a question, Rebecca would not have been quite so surprised (or entertained!) by the prospect and would have put an end to the idea right then and there. But Lucy was different: it was hard to think of a single time Becca had had to scold her about anything since she had passed the age of six.Â
It was her trust in Lucyâs ability to always try to do what was right that made her consider it, at all. âNo more scandalous than your sisters gambling away with officers,â She said, teasingly. âI suppose it would very much depend on the gentleman in question.â She added, after a moment.Â
Although she could certainly venture a guess as to who he might be.
âI hope he gains the sense to never actually propose to Eleanor. She might actually act upon her threats to have her dragon eat him!â Lucy said with a light laugh.Â
âI do wonder how much longer he will impose upon us⌠it seems as if he has been here a lifetime. One would think the Admiral would realize by now that he will discover no wrongdoings happening in our home.â
The Turners were much too intelligent of a family to ever let that happen.
Lucy stared in silence at her sister, taking in each small movement of her face as she contemplated Lucyâs question. The younger immediately regretted her decisionâ she shouldnât have brought it up at all. She never should have even entertained the thought of going anywhere with Aulus Acheson at all!
âEleanor has the uncanny ability to not scandalize anyone any longer. I think the entire town has become immune to her⌠improprieties when it comes to her activities.â
But Lucy? She was a different story.
âThe foreign prince, Aulus Acheson,â Lucy said quietly as if her elder sister hadnât already known exactly who she was speaking of. Everyone had seen Aulus speaking with Lucy whenever they were present. Eleanor had loudly proclaimed sheâd run headlong into him lurking by the gate just two days previous.Â
âI shouldnât have even entertained the idea,â she continued quickly. âBut now I am afraid I shall offend him if I do not go. Perhaps it is not considered inappropriate for unmarried men and women to travel together unchaperoned in Arkhadel?âÂ
âYes, itâs been so long that even such a fool such as Mr. Persimmons should have already found something - if there was something to find.â Rebeccaâs eyes twinkled - they both knew, very well, that being active members of the resistance was, in fact, something that they certainly did not want the Admiral to discover. But she said nothing more for, just now, the walls had ears.Â
âIn fact I can only discern that Captain Mallerton wishes to punish us. I do not think Mr. Persimmons would still be our guest had Cecily agreed to be his wife. Iâve half a mind to confront him about it. Itâs gone on for far too long.â There had been short reprives now and again when Roland was able to get him relocated when he pretended to be the Admiral, but it generally only lasted for a fortnight at most before he was thrust upon them again.Â
Rebecca laughed, âOh, I agree. It is one of the reasons I still let her go.â If she was being honest, even Rebecca knew that she would not truly be able to stop Eleanor from doing whatever she pleased, but she wasnât about to admit to that to anyone.Â
She grew silent for a moment as she considered her sisterâs situation. Rebecca was not at all surprised to hear that it was Aulus Archeson who had presented the invitation (in fact, she would have been shocked had it been another gentleman). âPerhaps in Arkhadel it isnât improper, but the fact remains that here at home, it is.âÂ
She trusted Lucy completely, but she did not think Aulus the sort of man who could be counted upon to protect a ladyâs honor. Although Rebecca was not well acquainted with him, she had caught glimpses of a more sinister side that she feared he was trying to hide away. The thought of him being alone with her sister, was likely a very bad idea, indeed.Â
âIf you go, you should have Maria accompany you. I'm certain he would agree to it - how can he not once itâs explained to him?â And if he doesnât, Rebecca thought, Lucy was better off causing him offense -- even if he was a prince.Â
Read it. I donât mind.
NOCTURNAL FEAST OF NOROS
Rebecca was deemed old enough to stay up past midnight when she was seven years old
This was met with protests from her sister, Isabella, who thought she and Cecily were both old enough, as well
Rebecca agreed with her parents that her sisters were not ready (she hadnât been at six, after all, and she also wished to go, herself, first before her sisters so she would know what to expect and could prepare them for it)Â
She promised to tell them everything she saw and she was confident that next year, the three of them would be able to go together
Rebeccaâs father did agree that Roland could come with them: he was to be in disguise, after all
Rebecca went as Ethylene - who has often been credited as the first woman dragon rider
She was having a grand time with Roland <33
Rebecca was only four years old when her mother died and she had felt responsible for her younger sisters ever since that moment and tbh she definitely enjoyed just being able to be a kid
That lasted for about 20 minutes before she noticed two little children dressed as a dragon and a ghost who were dancing wildly around the fire
She knew immediately that it was Isabella and Cecily while part of her was determined to send them back home to bed immediately, she decided to let them have a bit of fun
(And also because she, herself, didnât want to miss anything)
She pointed them out to Roland (who was very surprised more action wasnât being taken on Rebeccaâs part and commended her for it :D)
Rebecca did make him promise that between the two of them, they would keep them in their sights and then send them home later before it had gotten too late
The trouble was that, before long, she and Roland both lost themselves in the festivities and did not realize until much later that they did not know what had happened to the girls
Rebecca went straight up to their bedroom when they arrived home and, seeing that both girls were missing, alerted her fatherÂ
They searched all night and Rebecca was on the verge of confessing that she had thought she saw them both, earlier, and said nothing when they were discovered, hours later, asleep in the tree outside their bedroom
To this day, Roland is the only one who knows that Rebecca saw the two of them that night

Falling Leaves | Aulus & Rebecca
Autumn had arrived. Â With it, cool weather washed all across Aclea in vibrant golds and warm earthy tones as the trees adopted a hybrid green and gold, leaves merrily streaming towards the ground. Â This season was, to Aulus, brilliant and beautiful, but to Sekhad it was a sharp decline as the world turned once again towards winterâs inevitable death. Â Sekhad, let it be known, was no longer an optimist.
Aulus, however, was reveling in the beauty of the day, the coolness of the weather, and the sharpness of the earthy wind. Â Nose and cheeks pink with the wind, he smiled to himself, gaze roving over the tall trees that dotted the Turnersâ lovely landscape. Â Over his time in Aclea, heâd come to love the countryside walks â as well as their penchant for taking him by Miss Lucyâs house. Â She, he found, was a most prized companion â though his unwilling counterpart found often an occasion to somehow annoy or insult her as often as not, it seemed, which caused Aulus no end of frustration.
Still, for now, it was just the two of them and Sekhad had strayed into some thoughtfulness while deprived of other company to entertain him, allowing Aulus a brief glimpse of peace, that now all-too elusive emotion.
Spotting another figure walking along the path, however, he felt Sekhad jolt to life with a sigh. Â âBehave yourself,â growled Aulus under his breath and, merrily, the daimon laughed.
âOh, youâd like that, wouldnât you?â
Apprehension girdled Aulus, but there was nothing for it, now. Â Heâd find out the daimonâs intentions sooner or later, one way or the other.
âMiss Turner!â called Sekhad, merrily. Â âIâd ask you what brings you this way, were your destination not relatively easy to guess. Â Have you had a pleasant walk? Â An acquaintance of mine was just remarking upon a kind of fondness for the season but, I confess, I cannot get anything out of it. Â What do you think of the cool weather? Â You must confess all.â
âYour Highness,â Her tone was polite and courteous as she bowed her head and curtsied, but there was little warmth to it. Â
Rebecca had no love for this foreign prince, nor the liberties he attempted to take with her sister. Lucy had confessed that someone had asked her to visit a library with them (unescorted) and Rebecca could only assume that she meant Aulus. A man who had no regard for a ladyâs reputation (whether he meant to take advantage of the situation or not), was not one who could be trusted.Â
She did not especially care to enter into any sort of conversation with him, at all, nor was she likely to tell him where she was headed (even if she had not been on her way to the resistanceâs encampment), but his own direction suggested that, perhaps, he might be on his way to her own home and if he intended to visit her sister, she meant to distract him from it.Â
âNo where in particular,â She replied, âIâm of the same mind as your acquaintance, it would seem, there is hardly a lovelier time of year for a walk.â She paused, âWhere are you headed, Your Highness? Surely you have not walked all this way, for the sake of it?â Â

ooc | Rebecca & Owen
I think she understood where he came from, but also thought that he would eventually come around and realize that his measures made him just as bad as them -- and that they shouldnât be out for revenge, but I feel like her trying to reason with him would only make things worse, not better, and while she would always try to resolve things, I do think that there was probably still some tension surrounding that subject.Â
I think part of her will always care for him, of course (they didnât get together for nothinâ!) but there were also lots of very good reasons why things ended ... not mention her own personal and romantic life are already a little complicated right now aslkfjsalfjÂ
