i  didn’t  want  to  put  terri  right  back  in  degrassi  despite  me  wanting  to  write  her  there  because  like..  she’s  been  through  so  fucking  much  i  don’t think  i  could  put  my  poor  baby  in  the  rick  returning  +  the  shooting  aspect  (  however,  maybe  i’ll  write  a  meta / verse  of  her  being  there  bc  hmm.   )  however  !  after  hearing  about  the  shooting,  terri  realizes  how  much  she  misses  her  friends  and  how  every  moment  counts.  so,  she  returns  for  her  senior  year.  it’s  definitely  hard  for  her  to  be  back  and  have  people  walk  on  egg  shells  around  her,  but  after  being  with  her  friends  again,  she  knows  she  made  the  right  decision  to   come  back  for  a  final  year<3

her cheeks were turning a shade of pink. hopefully the dim light covered it, because the dumb smile on her face was probably embarrassing enough. it felt surreal, after everything they’ve been through, after all the pining and the will we or will we not wondering around in her head. only for it to take a little bit of trauma and alone time at a party for it to finally happen. “well.. i didn’t need it to happen on a real date to think this was perfect. because it is. perfect.” or maybe she’s just overwhelmingly happy. whatever, it didn’t matter to her because feelings for spinner overruled any cheesy stereotype on where a first kiss should happen. one of her hands reach up to touch her cheek, feeling the warmth of her blush and she laughs. “red, like a tomato. but.. happy.” she nods, looking up at him. “how about you?”

her grin and terri’s inability to lie through her teeth - terri sighs in defeat. “there’s no deets, auggie. nothing is going on, really. and even if there was, it can’t.” because terri was terri - still working through the traumatic end of her first and last boyfriend, and spinner was spinner - the guy she’s liked since eighth grade, who happened to be the ex of two of her friends. yeah, they can’t happen. 

“  huh  ?  “  her  gaze  in  spinners  direction  is  finally  broken  as  auggie  speaks  up,  causing  terri  to  redirect  her  focus  on  her  instead.  feeling  the  heat  on  her  cheeks  that  were  seemingly  becoming  a  shade  of  pink,  terri  shakes  her  head  and  bows  her  head,  poking  at  her  notebook.  “  i  don’t  know  what  you’re  talking  about.  i  don’t  like  anyone.  “

“yeah... stuffs been weird here too. i mean, don’t get me wrong, my tutors are great and all but.. it’s just not the same as going to class with the rest of you guys.” she explains, fingers tapping against her dresser as her mind wondered with thoughts of what exactly she should wear. “hey, spinner?” she glances up at him. “thanks.. you know. for this.”

soft eyes glossed with lukewarm tears flicker at auggie as she moves away. god, auggie. terri’s heard minimal about auggies interaction with rick, but it was enough to leave a gut wrenching feeling in her stomach.  “thanks, auggie.” terri smiles, wiping beneath her eyes before letting out a sigh. “my eyes aren’t too red, are they? jeez, it’s a good thing i don’t really wear makeup... i’d probably look like a hot mess right now.” 

terri  makes  sure  she  eases  up  on  the  drinking,  remembers  the  last  time  she  drank  and  how  awful  it  ended.  then,  it  comes  out  of  nowhere.  they  were  just  enjoying  a  beer  together  at  the  party,  talking  alone  outside  and  away  from  the  havoc  going  on  inside.  the  feeling  of  spinner’s  lips  on  hers  has  a  feeling  aching  inside  her,  almost  as  if  a  huge  cage  of  entrapped  butterflies  had  finally  been  released.  when  he  pulls  away,  terri  blinks  a  couple  times,  almost  as  if  she  was  trying  to  wake  herself  up.  “  spinner  -  “  she  breathes.  and  then,  her  lips  turn  into  a  small,  flustered  smile.  and  maybe  it’s  the  alcohol  that  gives  her  the  confidence  boost,  or  maybe  it’s  the  desire  to  finally  be  happy  again  that  makes  her  say,  “  i’ve  been  thinking  about  you  doing  that  since  eighth  grade.  “

he  comes  out  of  nowhere,  and  terri  nearly  jumps  from  where  she’s  stood  between  hazel  and  paige. “  um,  what  ?  “   brown  brows  raise  and  after  a  brief  look  at  her  friends,  she  can’t  help  the  laugh  that  comes  out.  “  wow  -  um,  yeah..  i  think  we’ll  all  pass  on  that  one,  jt.  “  

the  feeling  of  lukewarm  tears  settles  on  soft  features  as  terri’s  head  remains  bowed.  “  god,  i’m  such  a  cry-baby.  i’m  sorry.  “  she  apologies  through  sniffles  and  a  heavy  sigh.  the  comfort  of  auggies  arm  around  her  soothes  her,  though,  and  terri  lifts  her  head  up  slight,  wiping  her  cheek  with  her  shoulder.  “  i  guess  coming  back  here  wasn’t  as  easy  as  i  thought  it  would  be.  “
