Their first on screen conversation and she already knows him so well to predict his shenanigans without even seeing him!
The way he teases her constantly and she plays it straight, they're so effortlessly funny!

John and Rose interacting in general as they try to figure out the game together is one of the highlights of Act 1!
This is an exchange that is repeated by other pairs of characters that admittedly are not romantically involved (i.e Kanaya and Karkat, Dirk and Jane) but the point is that we can see how Rose was very reserved at the beginning of the chat, giving only one word answers, and yet John manages to thaw her out and make her feel more hopeful and relaxed enough to joke again just by being his dorky kind self❤️
This whole exchange omg he's genuinely worried about her but he also knows how to talk to her to lighten the mood and even though she's slowly going grimdark here she still stops to engage with his silliness, her old natural self poking out just to smile and laugh with him!💜💙
I know it's a given since they're friends but AWWW THEY MISSED EACH OTHER!! She's so different from Jade and Dave, he missed her brand of pedantic humor!
And she missed his silliness, and how she could be the straight man to bounce off of his goofy antics!
It always kills me that we never find out what she wanted to tell him, she knows there's a very likely chance she's going to die and out of the two Prospit siblings it's John that's on her mind! (While Jade is on Dave's, hehe bit of free DaveJade propaganda there too).

I literally didn't even realize the FIFA World Cup was going on until a few days ago, and now the first major thing I heard about it so far was that the US detained or outright denied entry to a bunch of teams THEY invited (mostly Middle Eastern teams, no surprise🙄🙄🙄). Why the actual hell were they allowed to host the event this year when they hate foreigners?? If something like this had happened in Qatar in 2022 (which was the most fun I had with the World Cup besides 2010 in South Africa) you can bet they wouldn't have shut up about it!

This month kind of... really sucked tbh, so I wasn't much in the mood to consume a lot of media despite having so much free time to do so.
Movies:
The Aristocats - My sister's been wanting to revisit this movie for ages since it was a childhood favorite of hers, so we watched it together. Cute movie.
101 Dalmatians - Yeah we got in the mood for another old Disney classic after Aristocats, and none of us had really seen this one all the way through before. And honestly, I really really liked it! More than the Aristocats even. The aesthetic was much more my style and the characters were so classy and loveable. I miss when Disney actually made pieces of ART instead of soulless cash grabs.
TV Shows: Yyyeaah nothing actually.
Anime: This anime season is so stacked and there were so many I wanted to watch but so far the only one I've actually been following is Dorohedoro season 2 (because it's peak).
Books:
Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins - Really enjoyed it! First book in awhile that was actually effortless and fun to read, I definitely want to check out the rest of the series.
Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson - Thought that Sanderson would be a safe bet for another easy read, but I really couldn't get into the writing style he went with for this one. Returned it to the library barely a few chapters in.
Sonic Archie comics Rebooted - Finished. It wasn't as good as the pre-booted era of course but it was still sad that it got canceled like that.
Sonic IDW comics - Lots of fun, caught up too soon though >_<
Games:
Saira - Free indie game from Steam, it was pretty fun once I got the hang of it, though I didn't complete it because I got stuck at a really tricky part. Reminds me of a classic browser game like on Miniclip or Y8 games.
Silksong - Yeah I caved and went back to try to complete Steel Soul mode again. I lost count of how many times I failed and tried again😫. Farthest I got so far was up to the Widow fight.
Noooo I caught up to the IDW comics! What am I going to do to fill the void in my life without more Sonic content?😭
Okay seriously, what the heck did Lanolin do that she had to apologize for? Tangle saying she was still ticked off at her had me SO confused, like bro YOU were the one who hid everything from her, what right do you have to be mad at her? What did she even do other than her job??
Ohhhh I absolutely loved Scrapnik Island oh my gosh I wish there was a game and a short film and an entire 50-issue long comic with these vibes and that gorgeous art aaaaaaa

Until anything in canon directly contradicts it, I'm going to headcanon that Nate is from an alternate universe/possible future where Cole and Vania got together🖤🤍
Man, I gotta say, out of all the comic original Sonic characters written under Ian Flynn so far, Whisper might be the first one I actively dislike. I thought Tangle would be the one to annoy me more but even though she's such a Disney cartoon protagonist I do like her. But Whisper actually just... sucks as a character, man. She doesn't fit in the Sonic world design-wise, her whole personality is that she's traumatized, and she always has such extreme reactions it all just feels manufactured. My sister told me she's apparently the second most popular original character after Surge (who's been great so far), and that kinda doesn't surprise me; she's a very "modern" kind of character I can see the current generation of fans eating up.
None of this would have annoyed me as much if it wasn't that out of all the original characters Ian Flynn created, it had to be these two that have come closest to being official canon characters. Again Tangle is fine, but I'm really not convinced of her and Whisper being this close dynamic duo and Whisper is just so boring and irritating on her own. Before them we had Bunnie and Antoine and the other Freedom Fighters! Monkey Khan and Julie-Su, Fiona and Scourge... And heck if we wanna talk characters created entirely by Flynn, I honestly found those deer sisters from Rebooted, Cassia and Clove, way more interesting and would've loved to see more of them. Or Razor and Coral, they were adorable. Or Shard, he was really cool! And all the Eggman followers that were introduced like Maw and the ox guy and that crazy fangirl gerbil. There were so many enjoyable Archie characters and Flynn was usually so good at introducing new ones and instantly making them likable... Why of all characters did it have to be Whisper that Sega finally accepted into canon instead?
Listening to the Chaotix Case Files in my car while I was driving my sister somewhere:

Okay I legit NEVER dream about fictional characters, like ever, last time was when I was 9 years old or something, but last night I dreamed of Espio the chameleon of all people. I was helping him kick some people out of his secret base which was in my backyard? I think? Also we took a bunch of selfies with the other Sonic characters but I kept getting cut out and it hurt my feelings. That part was much closer to the dreams I usually have lol
Reading the IDW comics now and even though Mighty and Ray are gone (😭) the Chaotix still instantly make me smile and giggle whenever they show up, I love them so much.
Also the metal virus arc has taught me that Espio will literally die of loneliness if he ever lost Charmy and Vector permanently.

Archie Sonic:Rebooted Comics reaction part 1!
Oh boy...
Been procrastinating on giving my reactions to the Sonic Rebooted comic because honestly aside from just being inherently depressing because of how it happened, the story just hasn't been that interesting. I know it's basically like setting up a whole new comic where the characters all have altered backstories to the classic era that need to be established, and a lot of new characters have to be introduced to repopulate the world since like 90% of the cast were all erased out of existence, and I would be all for that... but the fact that this "new" iteration doesn't last longer than like 50 issues, it's hard to get invested in any of it. At this point I just want to finish it so I can start the IDW comics already.
Anyway I'm gonna make an attempt to catch up to what I've read so far, just for posterity's sake.
