I think I’ve really come to the conclusion that Feyre can do no wrong in my eyes.
Like I love her character and the flaws that she has, and realistically, I know she does wrong.
But after everything she’s done and everything she’s been through - having to make a vow as a child to take care of her entire family, as the youngest, and keeping that vow for years while receiving almost no support and no thanks. Going out into the freezing cold all day long just to barely keep her family alive. having her own money taken from her. Having her dad do nothing. Having her sisters barely help, and never without complaint. (This is not anti nesta or elain btw) Being the sole provider for her entire family. Feeling so unappreciated but still doing it. Being taken away from her family by a beast, and thinking she’ll never see her family again. Trying to escape a safe, warm place with food and protection just so she can get back to her family because she’s scared they’ll die without her. Almost getting killed on SEVERAL occasions. Going under the mountain, as a HUMAN, to save tamlin. Spending months getting tortured and almost dying. Actually dying after being beaten by amarantha. Spending months having her trauma ignored. Waking up from nightmares and throwing up every night. Being so traumatized from what happened, but being told to just ignore it and go paint or go for a walk. Having her entire life controlled by tamlin. Having Lucien stand by and watch and just keep pushing for feyre to be patient. Being physically abused by tamlin. Literally begging tamlin to let her do something because she’s so traumatized and him saying no. Getting locked in a house by tamlin and having Lucien once again say “just be patient.” Her having a panic attack, screaming, and wrapping herself in her magic because of the ptsd she has from being trapped UTM. Finally starting to heal after going to the night court and having a purpose, falling in love with Rhys, and finding a family that actually appreciates her. Overcoming her trauma. Then having to watch as her whole family is trapped and about to be killed because tamlin and Lucien sold them out to their greatest enemy. Watching helplessly as her sisters are turned into fae. Having to trick them and pretend Rhys was mind-controlling her and go back to the spring court. STILL being physically abused by tamlin. Helping to expose tamlin as a bad high lord. Helping to take down their enemies. Barely escaping alive the spring court alive. Being attacked by Eris and his brothers. Finally making it back home. Trying to help rally all the high lords together to fight and save their world. Being slutshamed by tamlin at a high lords meeting like their world isn’t about to go to war, partially because of him. Having to protect velaris. Feeling guilty for her sisters and trying to help them with their new fae lives. Having to fight in a war where her friends are killed, her dad dies, her sisters almost die, the inner circle almost dies, her mate actually DIES to save the world. Bringing him back to life and finally getting to have some peace. Now she’s helping run a court and helping rebuild after a war. Doing so much work that the people of velaris have to force her to go home and stop helping. Feyre watching as her sister distances herself for months, rejects any help, and starts drinking herself to death and sleeping around because of how traumatized she is from the war and their dads death. Having to have an intervention for her sister and give nesta an ultimatum after MONTHS of nesta not getting better and continuing to down spiral and punishing herself. Feyre running a court, and finding out she’s pregnant. Feyre being told in the worst way possible that she, Rhys, and their baby are all going to die. Feyre almost dying AGAIN. - y’all want me to think my girl isn’t justified in anything and everything she does??
“She was a bad friend to Lucien.” I’m being so fr, I love Lucien and he was abused and mistreated by tamlin and has every right to feel the way he feels. But lucien sat by and watched as feyre withered away for monthssss. He saw how much weight she was losing. He saw how bad it was getting. He saw tamlin lock her up and he walked away. And then he even had the nerve to go looking for her and when she told him to stop looking for her and that she was upset that he stood by and watched and did nothing while tamlin controlled her and locked her up, he STILL sided with tamlin and Hybern to sell out the inner circle to get feyre back. Feyre has every right to be upset with him and have a strained relationship with him. They’re friends, I hope they can mend their friendship. but I understand they’re both in rough spots. They’re both valid in their feelings and both valid in the trauma they went through. Both were affected by amaranth and tamlin and what happened under the mountain and after in different ways. But that doesn’t erase that Lucien played a part in her trauma.
“She destroyed Tamlin’s court.” TAMLIN destroyed his court. TAMLIN. I BEG each and everyone of you that make this statement to go back and re-read the characters where feyre quite literally gives tamlin the option each and every time to make the right choice and he DOESNT. He sided with Hybern. He sided with ianthe. He abused Lucien. He abused feyre. He ruined his own court. Feyre literally warned him too!! But tamlin is so selfish and doesn’t listen to anyone but himself or ianthe that he didn’t care. And also, that’s not feyre court!! She brought down the enemy form the inside out. The spring court was aiding Hybern and feyre helped stopped that. She helped her side. She helped her court. Tamlin is the one responsible for his court. If all it took for his court to be ruined and his people to consciously make the choice to ABANDON him, then there were already problems to begin with. Feyre just helped expose that. As she should.
I’m not even gonna get into the nesta stuff because they’re both my girls and I love them. But be so fr, feyre was not a bad sister to nesta. They had a strained relationship due to their own trauma and what their parents failed to do!! Their mother abused nesta and put too much pressure on her that she had to block out her feelings and became cruel. Their father never stepped up until the very end. Their parents both put wayyyy too much pressure on feyre (as the youngest) to take care of an entire family that didn’t show her appreciation. Their parents failed both of them! But even so, feyre and nesta love each other!! They both feel guilt for what they’ve done and they both want the best for each other! But feyre was not a bad sister !!
Feyre has every right to want a peaceful life with her mate, child, sisters, and her found family that all appreciate her.
She has fought for her court. She has fought for her family. She had fought for her sisters. She has fought for the world several times !!!
She has well earned the title of high lady of the night court. She deserves that title!! Idc that she couldn’t read until a few months before, what a weird thing to say as if this isn’t a fictional romance fantasy series and not real life politics. But also, why should that have any affect on her role as a high lady? She has literally died, and almost died again, for the fae world. She has fought and lost so much to protect her court. She has helped rebuild and take care of this court for the last book and a half. She is a good high lady.
She deserves to be happy, and to paint, and to build herself another house because she’s EARNED IT 10 times over. It’s her money!! She just helped fight and WIN a war!! She’s 22 years old and has spent her entire life taking care of people. She’s helping run a court now. She’s helping rebuild a court. She’s taking care of so many people. She deserves a home for her and Rhys and nyx.
Feyre has every right to be upset with people that did her wrong!!
But even so, Feyre is one of the most forgiving people in the series!! Even to the people that hurt her, she understands them (ex. Tamlin, Lucien, and nesta). She forgives them, she moves past that. But anytime she’s not nice back, she’s suddenly the most hypocritical character ever to y’all. It’s insane.
Like there will be characters cussing her out, abusing her emotionally, physically, and mentally, locking her up, stealing from her, insulting her, ignoring her, and treating her sooo badly. But when feyre says ONE thing back or does something back, suddenly she’s the most selfish character in the series?? Be so forreal. I wish she WOULD give it back to some of these characters like y’all apparently think she does. I wish she would! I would LOVE to see it. But Feyre’s a much better person than that.
Okay Rant over. I love feyre. I love nesta. I love Lucien. I do not like tamlin.
Once again, this is a pro feyre post. If you hate feyre, it’s probably not for you.
This is NOT an anti nesta or anti Lucien post. This IS an anti tamlin post, I do not like him.
Don’t take this too seriously or personally. These are books. These are fictional characters. I love them. You love which characters you wanna love and dislike which ones you wanna.
