i think everyone involved in ~the discourse~ at this point is kind of vaguely aware of the campaign on tumblr a few years ago to kick ââhet-partneredââ bi people out of the community (i know thereâs still that one post about ââbi people in straight relationshipsââ at pride circulating)
what a lot of people may not know is how absolutely, incredibly nasty it got in the tags. people started making posts about how most bi women were âfaking it,â that âbihetsâ were invading the community and should kill themselves, that bi women were responsible for lesbians getting raped, that bi people deserved the abuse we got because weâre âliars and cheaters.âÂ
new blogs kept popping up every day dedicated to mocking âbi tumblrâ by adding comments about âbreedersâ or âfakersâ onto bi positivity posts or screenshotting bi peopleâs posts out of context to justify harassment. people started adding âbiphobeâ to their url or description like it was some kind of joke, mocking the idea that biphobia even existed because âsweetie itâs just misdirected homophobia :))) youâre lucky we even allow you in :)))))â
so when yâall do the exact same thing to a-spec people and then turn around and tell us itâs for our own ââprotectionâââ like⌠what kind of gall does that take? how fucking gullible do you think we are?Â
itâs very fucking apparent that youâve only stopped attacking bi people rn because itâs no longer the ~tumblr cool thing~ to do. yâall arenât being slick at all
Most of them havenât even stopped because when you push a little, many of them go straight back to their âbihetâ shit easily.
reblogging here because I still see this stuff repeated pretty often when browsing terf blogs
It! Is! Identical!
the thing about the âwhy canât we say pregnant WOMEN instead of pregnant PEOPLE, PC gone mad!â discussion going on right now is that even the âcis allyâ side is kind of not understanding why, exactly, âofficialâ stuff about pregnancy needs to use gender neutral language.
the use of gendered language, whether in law or in company guidelines, has been used as an excuse to exclude trans people from various kinds of reproductive healthcare. there have been stories of abortion providers pointing to the use of âpregnant womenâ in all clinic literature to justify not giving trans men assistance. there are issues where âwomenâs health clinicsâ will refuse to accept referrals for anyone who doesnât have âFâ on their records, which of course includes many trans women. there are in turn stories of trans women being unable to access âmaleâ prostrate cancer screening.
language in this sort of capacity needs to be as factual and neutral and carefully constructed to avoid loopholes as possible. at this stage in my life, as a non-woman capable of pregnancy, i donât really CARE anymore if you talk casually about pregnancy as something that happens to women. but i DO care if the medical system writes out some guidelines that, in only acknowledging pregnant women as a possibility, open me up to the possibility of being denied care by transphobes who can claim theyâre just following the rules.
this is a real issue for us, the gendering of health care leading to single-sex guidelines which are actively used by assholes to say âno, we only treat [gender] hereâ. itâs not a matter of nitpicking over everyday language; itâs about ensuring we are safe from loopholes that can be used to exploit us.
I know a trans guy who had his gender marker changed after top surgery, and later was refused coverage for a pelvic exam because he was marked as male. he had to fight tooth and nail and in the end they had to change his marker in the insurance system back to female just so he could get one. and the kicker is, they suddenly stopped covering his testosterone once he was no longer marked as male.
itâs for reasons like this that some people donât get their gender markers changed, but that in itself creates dangerous situations when their marker doesnât match their presented gender - Iâve heard horror stories of people getting arrested after being pulled over by a cop who thought they were lying about their identity.
So changing gender marker = no coverage for necessary healthcare, not changing gender marker = potentially dangerous situations. This system is literally endangering trans peopleâs lives. THATâS why it needs to change.
i cant get over the stipulation that you can post female boobs if itâs a political protest. hey tumblr have you considered that the point of those political protests is that womenâs bodies arenât inherently more obscene than menâs. like my body is more than just a site for politics or motherhood or art.Â
âLegally, we have to use transphobic language in order to punish women. Itâs out of our handsâ -Staff, apparently

You ever just ignore responses to your posts just to flex on the fools on this site?
Bafoons on this site: *saying the dumbest shit imaginable on my posts and trying to argue with me*
Me:
i honestly forgot about them for a while, but I just saw a post that reminded me that pro-ana and thinspo blogs still exist...which is absolutely sickening. the ideology in their posts is still the exact same kind of shit that got me trapped in a cycle of self-hate, guilt and shame in my teen years, and itâs heartbreaking to see people (especially young women and girls) falling prey to skinny culture in the same way. Iâm just lucky I had exposure to more body-positive, healthier mindsets that taught me how to actually take care of myself before my mental health was completely destroyed. A lot of these people donât have that.
fuck pro-ana, fuck thinspo. toxic weight loss ideologies like these need to die.
âBut if we let aces in the LGBT community we have to let EVERYONE in!! Like kinksters and fetishists!â
No you literally donât.
Kinks and fetishes are WAYS someone has sex; they describe sexual BEHAVIOR. Asexual is a SEXUALITY, just like LGB, and one that is marginalized for not conforming to heteronormativity - just like LGB.
If you donât want kinksters in the community all you have to do is say no sorry, LGBT+ is for marginalized SEXUALITIES and GENDER IDENTITIES, not for deviant sexual BEHAVIOR. Simple as that.
Or you could just admit you donât like aces lmao
asexuality is the literal LACK of having sexuality!! so itâs not a sexuality at all? therefore having no place in the lgbt community
iâd apologize for mixing up the extremely similar terms of sexuality and sexual identity but thats obviously not your problem so...just admit you donât like aces and go
i have such an internal struggle every time someone asks me about my name and how I got it/why my parents named me that or wtv
bc on the one hand, itâs pretty easy to explain without technically lying, and without outing myself
on the other hand there is such a great temptation to tell everyone that I named myself that because I am a huge smartass and based my choice of that name largely on the fact that it means âbehold, a son!â

Black Trans Man Arrested, Immediate Bail Support Needed.
A request for support from Deanâs friends and fam:
Earlier today, Dean, a Black Trans masculine person was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia, after a routine traffic stop. After being stopped, he was questioned repeatedly about the validity of his driverâs license. The officer believed that Dean was deceiving him, lying about his identity. Dean was taken to the detention center.
This happens often to Trans people who are unable to change the gender marker/name on their license. Because of the officerâs transphobia, he assumed Dean was lying.
Some of you maybe familiar with Dean, an Atlanta -based community organizer and activist. He is currently being detained at the Atlanta City Detention Center. He has been placed with the âfemaleâ population, where he will be kept until his community, family, and friends raise bail.
Bail is currently set at $315. We know that itâs a lot to ask. But on behalf of our friend, weâre asking that each person, who read this, donate just .99 or $1. A little can go a long way.

as funny as some of the memes are, the whole âfemale-presenting nipplesâ thing is infuriating bullshit. Itâs so obvious the staff is trying to act woke while not actually knowing anything about these topics or what these words actually mean. I can guarantee that if I posted a picture with my nipples visible it would be flagged, and even if I tried to explain that I am a male-presenting trans man, I would be ignored because I am pre-top surgery and what they are actually concerned about is breasts.
Happy Hanukkah to my Jewish followers. May the next several days bring you light and blessings.
Its so funny how aphobes use turbo virgin or virgin as an insult towards ace ppl here like ohh my god u really got me,,,,, u really hit me where it hurts by implying that me, an asexual never had sex in my life,,,,,, hooo boy how will i ever heal from this wound??Someone better get an aloe vera for this middle school level burn for me. I cant believe i was DRAGGED by being called out for never having had sex because im ASEXUAL ://Â #Shooketh #wig #clapback
Listen. Read. Educate yourselves. If you are unaware, fix that. Do not be complicit in the societal and legal oppression of transgender Americans.
Sapphic PSA
There are lesbians and bi women who are not penis-repulsed.
And there are some who are penis-repulsed.
âI would never date a trans woman,â is transphobic because it is a blanket statement on all trans women, implying they are men.
âI have penis-repulsion, which limits my sexual compatability with some women,â is a better, less transphobic thing to say cuz it also refers to incompatability w/ cis women who prefer using strap-ons and dildos, while validating womanhood regardless of genitals.
Thank you for this. I had no idea how to ever adress this without sounding like a TERF.Â
Also: not all trans women have penises! Surgery exists, and can be absolutely excellent for those who choose to have it! Whether or not a trans women has a penis is entirely up to her (albeit with considerations like the availability of doctors, her budget, and her general ability to undergo surgery).
And trans women can be penis-repulsed themselves! I would know, since Iâm a penis-repulsed trans lesbian.

If someone were to be attracted to someone else until they told them that they were trans, not because of genitals or whatever but solely because they're trans, then then they would absolutely be transphobic?? Sure you can't control who you're attracted to, but there's obviously some kind of prejudice there if it's affecting you that deeply. I don't get what's so hard to get about that damn :/
exactly. âtransâ isnât a personality trait, itâs not a physical characteristic, it tells you only one thing about a person and thatâs that they identify as something other than their gender assigned at birth. making assumptions based off that fact is transphobic.
Not everyone is attracted to trans people
Fucking deal with it
Not being attracted to someone isnât oppression
Im bi and gave dated trans people
Not being attracted to trans people isnât transphobic
Not being attracted anyone for anything isnât bigoted
Nobody owes anyone attraction or sex or a date
Some people are attracted to trans people and some arenât
Get over it
Pal, I donât know what kind of âlogicâ you base your reasoning on, but if someone says âI would never date a trans personâ with no other reason than âbecause theyâre transâ, itâs transphobic. Disliking the mere concept of âtransgenderâ is the most literal definition of transphobia there is.
And even if you have actually dated trans people before, it doesnât mean you canât be transphobic. Itâs like saying âIâm not racist, I have black friendsâ, lmao. Iâll be convinced youâre not transphobic when you stop saying transphobic stuff.
So not dating someone youâre not attracted to is bigoted???
Yes, this is exactly what Iâve said, your reading comprehension is the absolute best. 10/10 would write for you again.
So you have to date people that youâre not attracted to????
No!
You donât get to decide who other people date or fuck
You not getting a date or not getting laid isnât oppression or bigotry
Nobody owes anyone a date or sex
Nobody has to be attracted to anyone or date anyone or have sex with anyone
Is it homophobic for a straight man to not be attracted to men?? No! Because heâs just not attracted to gay men.
Is it fatphobic for me to not be attracted to fat people? No! Im just not attracted to fat people.
You donât even know what bigotry is if youâre saying itâs transphobic to not be attracted to trans people.
Go outside and learn how the real world is dipshit.
You tell us to get over it, but youâre the only here one getting pissed over nothing. Maybe try to chill a bit, listen to some calm music, smoke some weed, I donât know, whatever helps you cool down.
Actually, Iâm wondering, are you a troll? I hope for your sake that youâre a troll. If youâre sincerely that incapable of reading properly, navigating âthe real worldâ (because we all know the internet isnât real, the moment we log on we all become nothing but emotionless digital data, our conversations having no impact on us or âthe real worldâ whatsoever) must be much harder for you than it is for me.
So you didnât read anything i said did you?
Fine
Just block me if youâre just going to completely ignore what i say
Says the person who hasnât been able to address the one point I made, lmao.
Then explain what your point is because i clearly donât have the intellectual capacity to know what it is
Iâm going to try and be as clear as I can.
FINE: âThis trans man is short. Iâm not attracted to short guys. So I donât want to date this trans man.â
BAD: âIâm not attracted to short guys, so I donât date trans men.â
Understand? The second one is implying that all trans men are short, which is verifiably untrue. Itâs the stereotype that makes it transphobic, NOT the attraction. Itâs also not a trait exclusive to trans men - Iâve met lots of cis men who were short - so the lack of attraction doesnât have anything to do with being trans anyways.
And âshortâ is just an example. Itâs the same for pre-HRT vs post-HRT trans folks, pre- or post-surgery, etc. Trans people are different in so many ways that it is impossible to judge all of them on just one characteristic.
It is the generalizing that makes it transphobic, not the attraction. The generalizing, not the attraction.
since a lot of terfs donât seem to get it, Iâve made a handy-dandy guide on what is and isnât transphobic:
what is NOT transphobic: not wanting to be with a specific trans person because they have shared with you their transitional/surgical status and you are not attracted to/are repulsed by their specific type of gentitalia
why: you should not feel obligated to have sex with someone whose parts youâre not attracted to, regardless of relationship status or how much you love them. As long as you inform the trans person in a respectful way that you donât think the relationship will work, you are not being transphobic.
what IS transphobic: not wanting to date ANY trans people EVER because youâre not attracted to a certain type of genitalia
why: no two trans people are alike, and assuming that you know what a trans person has down there without them telling you is transphobic because youâre stereotyping a large group of people.
what is ALSO transphobic: âstop forcing us to have sex with men!â
why: trans women are women. Fuck off.
me in this post: itâs okay if youâre not attracted to a trans person, youâre not obligated to date someone youâre not attracted to. but saying you donât date trans people solely for the fact theyâre trans implies that you assume all trans people share the same traits, which is wrong, stereotyping, and transphobic.
a bunch of people who have 0 reading comprehension skills: UHHHH ITS NOT TRANSPHOBIC TO NOT BE ATTRACTED TO PEOPLE WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME, PERSONALLY, THAT I HAVE TO FUCK YOU
