Through her childhood to teen years, she usually didn't keep track of a troll's caste and just attacked when she could to keep herself safe, but as they got older, they learned to be more cautious and usually only kill lower caste trolls now. Even though she has no care for her caste, she does know that it gives her a different kind of authority over other trolls that she abuses. Her blood caste is also why she is inhumanely strong. Backstory: Devend's lusus was killed by renegade raiders who also burned down her hive when she was just a toddler, so she had to fend for herself for her entire life with no guides. This led to them living in a landfill for most of their life, using trash to make shelter and tools.

She's had to fight off a lot of trolls in her life due to living in the landfill, as other homeless trolls would try to take her territory or others would try to exterminate her for "trespassing". This upbringing led to them being a very violent troll and being hostile to any troll, regardless if they were a threat.

Eventually, she couldn't continue taking her rage out on random civilians as she became so rampant in her destruction that she became a wanted criminal after killing multiple seadwellers. This led them to go into hiding underground, where they came across a shelter built for underground wrestling. But this wasn't normal wrestling, it was battles to the death that weren't authorized by loyals.

The battles were gruesome, much worse than what would commonly be seen on the surface. It weren't just battles that happened here, it was also a trafficking ring. Trolls would trade off different trolls for money, tools, or just to get rid of them, usually the trolls being traded off were lower castes. Sometimes the trafficked trolls would be used in the battles, forced to fight each other to the death, but they usually would become a slave to whoever they were sold off to.

Devend became very invested in the small society that formed around the ring and ended up joining in. She stayed within the society through her teen years all the way to adulthood, winning multiple battles and even being titled "Horn Stopper". As sickening as it was, she made friends and family within this community. She's seen many of the trolls she's bonded with die, but also many of them win. She's also seen some of them be bought off without getting to say goodbye.

The only reason Devend was able to avoid being trafficked was because she was too strong to be held down, she'd find a way to save herself and that usually resulted in murdering the trolls that'd try to kidnap her. However, she is susceptible to manipulation and that led to her almost getting caught in the mess multiple times.

Eventually, the ring ends up being permanently shut down once too much word of it gets out and drones infiltrate the base, executing trolls and shooting off bombs to destroy the place. Devend was lucky to make it out alive, but now she has to readjust to Alternian society (not that it's much different from the ring).

While the purpleblood society certainly helped push them towards discovering clown culture, they want nothing to do with juggalos or following the pressures of Alternian society. While they genuinely enjoy being a mime, it's possible part of this comes from rebellion against society.
