Confession: I have a friend who likes to text me at like 4am when he’s had nightmares or he can’t sleep or he just needs a friend. He thinks I’m always awake at 4am but really I go to bed around 12am and I change his text-tone to the loudest one I have just so it wakes me up when he needs me.

I think that since its been a year since I made this post its time for an update. In the past year I’ve watched this post grow and grow, people I work with have told me about it as “this post I saw the other day” and they have no idea it’s my post. The person I wrote this about has even reblogged it. He is no longer texting me at 4am. Not because we no longer speak but because the nightmares have stopped. He and I both are in a much better place. Most often the only times he’s waking me up at 4am is when he’s pulling me closer to him while we sleep. He’s more than a friend now and I’m forever thankful to have him. Everyone messaged me saying he was lucky to have me but I think I was just as lucky to have him and I would do it all over.

why do you support arsenal? do you have family in london or something? have the past fifteen generations of your family lived in north london? were you born and raised in n7? can u see the emirates stadium when u look out of your window? do you physically live in the stadium? no? then sorry you cannot possibly in any way shape or form be an arsenal fan, that’s just inconceivable.

did you know we had a stadium before the emirates? were you there when arsene wenger wasnt arsenal manager? do you remember when we were actually mocked for winning 1-0 and not just singing the song as a self-mockery? have you actually experienced the struggle this team has been through, and i dont just mean having to fight for top four every single year, i mean when we were last in the second division of english football over 100 years ago? no, then sorry i can’t talk to you, you don’t know proper struggle, i’d rather talk to miserable 130+ year olds who remember when we were founded back in 1886 and suffered through the move from woolwich to highbury 27 years later…

it’s halftime at the seaside the cherries are growing they won’t stop growing thousands of ripe cherries are falling from the trees there are too many cherries. the cannons are firing blanks. hector was left for dead but francis is the one who died. how many penalties are we trying to give them? we lost count. we can’t figure out why the cannons are silent, what did we leave behind when the clock struck midnight and a new year quietly unfurled? gunpowder? ammunition? our balls? somewhere in the stands jack wilshere covers his face, is he smiling or crying? both and neither there’s a cherry branch growing out of his shoulder blade but he dresses in ambiguous red. he coughs and a single cherry falls into his palm. what are we meant to do with all these cherries? we have no idea someone please tell us if you know
