Is someone trying to say "mutt" is a slur? That's bonkers. There could some racists who use it like that I guess, but that's in no way it's primary meaning. "Mutt" is just what you say, a term for a dog that is a mix of several breeds. There's a discussion to be had about how weird and yucky the "purebred" dog industry is especially given it's proximity to eugenics, but mutt isn't a slur.
