something about hearing “i grew up as a fan” from any prospect never gets old. that’s how you fell in love with hockey? that’s who you cheered for?? and now you’re here on the draft floor after they called your name, and the media swarm you; they’ve plucked you from the crowd for an interview, and the lights are so bright, and they’re throwing up baby photos of you in old jerseys. that’s your team. you chose them — or maybe you inherited them from your family — either way you wore their colours for years and years. and then they chose you. they chose YOU!!! anyway this post is about Michael Hage getting drafted by the Canadiens and dropping this banger:

edit: my answers are under the cut if anyone is interested in reading that. just a warning, i wrote a lot more than i intended lol.
i grew up in a family who loves every sport (even the boring ones like golf) so naturally hockey was always around for me but i wasn't superrr invested in it. football ⚽was always (and still is) my #1 favorite sport and i played when i was younger up until i was 13 because i got injured. anyways after my injury, i stopped watching football as much because i guess it depressed me to watch the sport knowing i couldn't play well anymore. so i turned to hockey. i started watching casually at first and about 2 years ago? (i think?) i got fully invested in it and then decided in december to make a sideblog and join hockeyblr and here we are.
as for the teams i root for- im first and foremost an islanders fan because i was born and raised on long island (and i'm still here and never leaving). loyal to my team no matter what, even if they make me want to pull my hair out on a daily basis. i became a canucks fan because one of my fav shows is himym and robin is a canucks fan so that made me look up the team and i got emotionally attached to certain players (quinny and brock, my lovess). there are other teams im intrigued by but mostly because certain players i like play there, like the kraken (ebs and daccord), and bruins (swaymark)
sometimes i watch hawks games but purely for my fav girl beau (and havent kept up with them at all since beau's been on ir because i truly hate the hawks)
for pwhl, i root for ny obvs because in a ny girlie. and abbey levy and alex carpenter have enchanted me.
I grew up in a hockey town but hated it cause I was an artsy girl and going to school with hockey boys was the worst (I did used to sing the anthems at games tho as a teen). My parents are from Montreal but I grew up in Toronto and I guess I cheered for the Leafs? Again, I didn’t really watch it. In high school I got on the Avs bandwagon cause I had a crush on a guy and wanted to talk to him about it and that was the year they won the cup. As an adult I’d like vaguely cheer for Toronto until they got out, then Montreal. After the 2010 Olympics I got super into it and followed a bunch of guys (rip Jamie Benn) and would watch home openers and playoff games. Kinda also followed the Sens and the Hawks. That’s kinda when I became a Habs fan officially. Followed the Habs from like 2014-16 until they traded PK. Got back in during the pandemic and got sucked in to hockeyblr. Conveniently the Habs went to the finals that year.
I honestly picked the Habs because of my family connection. Neither of my parents really watch hockey, but both my grandpa and my zaidie were die hard Habs fans. I never knew my zaidie and my grandpa died when I was 7. I feel the Habs connection through them. I can’t explain it, it just feels right.
I also follow the Canes, the Avs, and the Sabres.
PWHL I follow Montreal, but I gotta also cheer for my girls Sarah Nurse and Nat Spoons in Toronto. It feels weird but they my ogs.
