They had fallen out without the actual fall out. Till this day, she’s unsure of what happened. To their friendship that is. Everything else, Vincent made clear. He’s never lied to her in the years they’ve known one another but she wishes he had never pulled away so abruptly. ayanna isn’t exactly used to losing people she loves. Even if it happens often to her. Each one hits her like a ton of bricks. Aiden being the last one. So it’s nice to see the familiar face and hopefully this means she’ll be seeing Vinnie more often. 

keeping the embrace for a few seconds, she pulled away gingerly, removing her mask so that she could see how her features soften at his words. “You’re always so charming, Vin.” At the mention of the free time, her smile widens a bit. “The twins will love to know you’ll be around more.” And her too of course but she didn’t want that to come off too weird. At his acceptance, she leads the way to the exit and toward the gazebo. Thankfully, it’s empty and Ayanna moves to sit down, gesturing him to join her. “So…retirement so young? I’m so proud of you, Vinnie. You know that?” 

Vincent found the hardest decision he ever made was breaking things off with Ayanna, but he’d seen how quickly his mother’s care fell to Cordelia and how it changed their life forever. He couldn’t become a burden to the newly made Mother no matter how much he loved her. He told himself time and time again he’d done the right thing by pulling away allowing her to live her life free from his problems. But with the murder of Aiden, Vince couldn’t stay away from his family any longer.

When Theo brought up the type of work that she did, her eyebrow raised. “One thing you should know about me Theo is that I’m not fucking afraid of anyone. Not even fucking death himself’ Her voice was pointed, firm. “Never fucking lived that way and I won’t start now. You don’t need to worry about me.”  She knew no one would attend her funeral. She was never the type of person people were drawn to, happy to see, close with. She leaned forward into him. Regretting for even having the conversation. “And don’t ever bring my job again” She said. “We’re going to.. or I’m going to catch that mother fucker. End of story”

“You and me both. Look, I don’t let getting blood on my hands and I definitely don’t believe that it’ll make matters better but if there is any way I can help that doesn’t involve putting people in the ground, I’d love that. I mean it.” He smiled thinking about the club and the music that always seemed to lure him in even when it was his father’s wishes to stay as far away from the business as possible. “I’d love to see them. Maybe I’l pay a visit or something. I’ll check in with Ayanna too. I’m sure she’ll be happy to see more friendly faces.” 

“Always so charming.” He’d roll his eyes if it didn’t mean losing out on quality catching up. That was his desire anyway. He wanted to make sure everyone still had a pulse in this place. “You alone? You alone will take on the possible gang rivalry that wants us all dead?” He sighed and sat back in his chair, looking up at the ceiling, smiling at the music he hears in the background. He always loved Eclatant, loved that gorgeous owner that walked around like she owned the world. “How’s Aya? I haven’t seen her in forever.” 

Vincent had been silently watching Antonello, the male was quite interesting when it came to cleaning even if he was just pushing more blood around once that rag within his hand was ruined and stained with it. He hadn’t seen this much since he was a child and he’d found his mother but it never truly bothered him looking at the other as he seems to tirelessly work through the mess.

“I’m not the one that made this mess, so how can I help you? Outside of telling you the things you’re in desperate need of help?” He smirked before moving to take off his jacket and roll up his sleeves at, before moving towards the body pulling out some gloves. “I don’t think I wanna know what being wrist-deep in something else means when it comes to you. But did anyone see you and this ‘fat fuck’ together?” He questioned moving the body towards the plastic”

What Vincent said went straight to Novah’s head. She was so so proud of herself. She walked in Vincent confidently, proud of her set up. It was desolate, damp, dark, everything from a fucking nightmare. “Excuse the mess” She said as she stepped over a pile of blood. “Watch your step”

 She lead Vincent into the back of the warehouse, the man she held hostage in a chair that was knocked sideways on the floor. She had done that herself before Vincent came. “He said he would talk to us. No significant other or children to know that he’s missing, so he figured out how long all of this could take, but thankfully he cracked.”  The chains anchored to the wall rattled. She patted his face with a smile. “Look I brought company” She said excitedly. “I  assume you’ll be as forthcoming as earlier. I just cleaned off my meat cleaver, it would be a shame to bring it back out today>”

She walked over to the chair. “Wake up” She said firmly to the man as she sat the chair upright. 

Vincent had been very impressed with Novah, his sister had chosen correctly when they moved her up when they took control. The women more than just experience but she could handly orders very well and keep things discrete. “I’ve seen much worse my time spent with the FBI” He explained moving to step over the pile of blood.

“I came to say hello.” He chewed the inside of his cheek as he stood up and straightened his jacket. He misses LA every single day but right now, he had bigger things to take care of. “I didn’t say I had a deal, Vincent. Had you paid attention, you might have known that. But, the reason I’m here is because people are dead. Hoping that shit comes to a stop soon and doesn’t get any worse, ya feel?”
