Trilogy wolverine got me in a chokehold. But especially the first xmen. (Ignoring the bad writing,misogyny,and br*n s*nger completely tho)
Miss hughverine in his peak. Which was just x1 and x2. X3 only was good because of Kelsey grammar beast. That's it. Wolverine wasn't that good. If they didn't screw the pooch with wolverine origins (which we all know why they did) and the movie one off au logan wasn't so boring (man)angst(tm). And the wolverine wasn't legitimately guy gets weebified once and thinks he can be samurai and knows nothing about japan or the culture and projecting that entirely upon hugh Jackmans performance as wolverine. It really shows bad in that movie it was very very forced,very bad plot. All Wolverines solo comics are great but his solo movies? Suck assssss.
But x1 and x2? Peak. Perfect. Encapsulated him very well. Even for the gross jogan shit. Which i ignore and nuke it with my mind and imagine myself there like everyone else does. Wolverine feels like well wolverine. Classic ol wolvie.
Xmen 1 was better because it has the least amount of that. Plus it felt genuine when it came to rogue. It was sweet. And protective big bro vibes. And i love that from wolverine. But only when it actually fucking means something and isn't used as a crutch for the character or writing plot.
But yeah movieverse wolverine is good if you can look past the flaws and enjoy yourself.
