1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)

I'd say I'd recommend The Oddities of Human Nature if I had to choose one! I personally think it represents a good chunk of what I write on this blog! ( Which is pain lmao- )

8. What song(s) would make a great fic (to either write or read)?

I have a few actually! Personally, I feel like Girl's Girl by Zara Larsson, He's My Man by Luvcat, Feel Anything by Nxdia, WHERE IS MY HUSBAND! by RAYE, Dear God by Tate McRae, Mad at Disney by Salem Ilese, Witch by Rubyeye, Entertaining by Halacg, and If I Killed Someone For You by Alec Benjamin are few of many songs I believe could make for great fic ideas!

9. How do you find new fic to read?

I typically just search the x reader tag of a character I'm currently fixated on Tumblr or my fav ship relating to that character ( or characters if I like both/all people involved in the ship ) until I find something that catches my eyes.

10. How do you decide what to write?

Usually my motivation just guides me to pop open a doc of some kind and get to typing but if not that, I usually ask others ( via a poll, discord, etc. ) for what they think I should focus on and if not that then I typically give up lol- I used to spin wheels but I kinda gave up that method a while ago.

11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is?

Writing wise, I'm definitely partial to certain characters as they typically easiest for me to write for as we have relating qualities ( Ex. Riddle Rosehearts, Wanderer/Scaramouche/Kunikuzushi/Kabukimono, LukaTill, etc. ) or that I simply love them that much that I can't stop my motivation ( Ex. Lilia Vanrouge, Juuzou Suzuya, etc. ). Reading wise I'm more equal opportunity since it typically involves my fav character(s) of that fandom and as long as they're in it ( and nothing weird is tagged or warned ) I can find something enjoyable about what I read!

12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?

Parent AUs!! I got into them a few months ago thanks to a now deactivated user named devildomdrafts! ( Oh how dearly I miss their work ) I'm not the fondest of children ( in fact I often proclaim I hate them for various reasons ) but their writing genuinely gave me such a serotonin boost everytime I read something on their blog that I grew quite fond of the au ( alongside pregnancy au's ) to the point I started a parent au series of my own!

13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore?

I'd have to say friends to lovers/childhood friends to lovers. Like it's become such a plain and boring trope to me over the years whether I write it or read it 😭 Like as a main trope it's so dull like especially when there's nothing else going on like where's the actionnnn... It kinda blends with my reason on why I don't really like most shoujo anime and manga...

26. Would you rather write a fic that had no dialogue or one that was only dialogue?

Definitely a fic with no dialogue because 1) I've done it before and 2) I suck ASS at dialogue and hate how fanfics look when it's just straight speaking going on ( with the only exception being chatfics ). Like possibly unpopular opinion but I love how full a fic looks with big chunks of text like it's soooo satisfying and just rubs me the right way, ykwim?

31. What’s your ideal fic length to write?

Oughhh it really depends on the genre. If it's fluff ( or anything along those lines that's generally light and fun ), I'd say anything between 1k and 3k words - something cute and to the point. If it's angst ( or anything along those lines that's generally heavy on the heart ), I'd say anything between 5k and 20k words because I loooove the buildup to the inevitable pain.

32. What’s your ideal fic length to read?

Something between 2k and 5k words for most genres. This is a very loose estimate, though, as I tend to buckle depending on whether or not the plot is interesting or characters/pairings involved are my personal favs or not ( currently reading a juuzou x hanbee fic on ao3, for example, that's roughly 591k words over the course of the two books ( the main fic and its sequel! I'm currently halfway through the sequel so I'm a little over 300k words in 😅 )

37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it?

Paradise!! I will always slide this into one of these but gosh do I love that fic ( series )!! I really love the original characters I managed to integrate into the cast and how I did the storytelling! It scratches that itch I used to always get when reading demon slayer-related stories on Wattpad when I was younger! I recommend anyone and everyone to check it out sometime! <333

38. Did any of your fics get surprisingly popular (whatever that means to you)? Which ones? Why do you think they were so successful?

I'd have to go with The Single Father Chronicles With: Riddle Rosehearts. The fic wasn't one focused on romance and you were dead during the entirety of it, but I got so much love and supporting comments that it blew me away!! That said, I honestly have no idea why it gained as much traction as it did besides the fact that it involved Riddle suffering lmao-

40. Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person?

Oh I reread my own fics all the time! Whether it'd be because my perfectionism is getting to me and I want to re-edit a fic for the nth time or whether I'm seeking comfort when I'm feeling down that caters to my specific struggle or whether I want a very specific microtrope or dynamic displayed that I know I've written, I'm scouring my own blog for said fic and reading it once, twice, or however many times til' I'm satisfied!

41. Link a fic that made you think, “Wow, I want to write like that.”

Duuuuuude on here I'd go with my mootie lysarion's lohen fic MY FIANCÉ like bro the storytelling and how quickly yet satisfyingly they move the plot along and develop reader and their relationship with lohen and establish the already existing relationships of reader's parents and their struggles with dealing with them GOSHHHH WAS IT A BEAUTIFUL READ!!!! As for ao3, it's tied between fics New Days and Rainstorms/Sunshine and Oceans ( Tokyo Ghoul ) by fat_stranded_whale and Crestfallen Sunset ( Omori ) by OliveTreen. Their characterization goes craaaazy and I especially love how Olive depicts selectively mute Sunny in their fic like please guys check these out if you're able to cause these stories are amazing!!

42. Have you ever received a comment that particularly stood out to you for whatever reason?

Yes!! It was actually a mutual of mines ( nursedflowers ) that left it on my fic My Late Husband Is Seriously Haunting Me! I've always favored her comments as she's always extremely passionate with her words and I specifically remember her asking if I ever considered becoming a movie director and it genuine altered my way of thinking about my future! I started thinking about it more and more and realized that writing/making/directing films is where I wanna be in the future and I'll always cherish that comment for helping me figure out my true calling ( and how it saved me from the mathematic hell double majoring in business administration and entrepreneurship would've given me lol- )

46. Do you prefer writing on your phone or on a computer (or something else)? Do you think where you write affects the way you write?

I prefer computer! I mainly write on google docs ( in the process of switching over to Ellipsus as we speak ) and I feel like it heavily affects my flow and overall motivation. You see, I get frustrated hella easily and am usually in a very sensitive and delicate headspace when I write and writing on my phone deters me because it feels really cramped and all the notifications I get tend to distract me. My computer isn't linked to any social media websites so unless I actively have the webpage of one up, I get zero distractions + it handles having multiple operating tabs like spotify and pinterest open better than my phone does! ...Also I hate typing up stories on my phone like it's actually terrible and makes me wanna rip my hair out-

48. What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it?

burning up (yeah, all I see is red) by reokeiki (reonicake) on ao3! It's a short drabble about the hubbys Akira and Noi with Noi being cheeky and teasing his husband ( post timeskip ofc ) so if that's your kinda thing, I'd def recommend it! <3

choosing one was honestly so hard because my style seems to vary in some way or another. but if i had to really choose one, I think found serendipity because I absolutely love writing smaus (but I can't do a sole smau work) I like to think of my writing as something silly & soft too!

9. How do you find new fic to read?

to be honest, it's just from my tumblr for you page😭 I tend to scroll on tumblr long enough to find random fics that catch my interest and I'll either send it to myself to bookmark for reading later (or read it now if I have time/feel like it)

10. How do you decide what to write?

I write whatever comes to my mind usually. from random ideas I get from my head from irl interactions to the media I consume (ie. songs, kdramas, anime etc.) it can get to the point I have too many ideas and drafts and zero actual completed fics done.

12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?

probably fake dating. I used to hate it because I always felt like there's this typical storyline they will follow (ie. they make a contract with list of things to never cross with the last line being something like "we will never fall in love" but they always end up breaking all of that anyway) but after reading this time it's real by ann liang and selfish romance by gyogyo park, I've learnt to love this trope more.

13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don't anymore?

lowkey enemies to lovers. I love it when it's done right but nowadays there's so many knockoffs of this trope that makes it feel not done right. like I want enemies to lovers where they're actual enemies at the start and the feeling is mutual (not like one is secretly pining over them from the very start)

16. What's an AU you would love to read (or have read and loved)?

I absolutely love celebrity au. I feel like a large majority of the au I consume tends to lean towards celebrity au. if you do know of any good ones (whether you've written or read them) do tag me in them heh😝

26. Would you rather write a fic that had no dialogue or one that was only dialogue?

probably one with only dialogue. I cannot get rid of dialogue in my fics and I can go on with a whole paragraph with back and forth dialogue. my only possible concern would be if that makes it not engaging enough or if my dialogue ends up leading my readers nowhere.

32. What's your ideal fic length to read?

I would say something along the lines of 1k to 3k words. fics shorter than that sometimes makes me feel like "huh? it ended, i wish there was more" and fics longer than that sometimes makes me feel "omg there's more!! I don't know if I can finish all this in one sitting!" I always like to read fics in one sitting because I fear if I take breaks in between, I will forget where I stopped off (but I sometimes don't have the concentration span to finish fics in one sitting either)

38. Did any of your fics get surprisingly popular (whatever that means to you)? Which ones? Why do you think they were so successful?

does drabbles count LOL cos if drabbles count I'll have to say the drabble on long distance bf shoyo that I did. I genuinely did that mainly for my own indulgence but the crowd seemed to like it so... reading back on it, it was actually really cute.

40. Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person?

one-and-done. which means I actually don't proofread my fics after I am done (but sometimes when I feel like it, I would reread my fics and go like "omg there's a mistake" and change it silently)

41. Link a fic that made you think, "Wow, I want to write like that."

recently (or not so recently), discovered teach me how to love (an atsumu x reader smau series) written by one of my mutuals (shoutout: yenonnoff) and it's a celebrity au (are we even surprised) but trope aside, I love the way she written it (the details, story pacing and plot). makes me feel like im watching a kdrama in words😝

45. What's something you've improved on since you started writing fic?

descriptions. I used to be really terrible when it came to narrating and describing, making my fics unusually short and lacking in character/world building. It's still something I am learning & improving on (I hope to be able to perform "show not tell" better in my fics)

46. Do you prefer writing on your phone or on a computer (or something else)? Do you think where you write affects the way you write?

definitely prefer writing on a computer (using ellipsus) and having my earbuds in (with a youtube playlist in the bg). I can't handle noisy environments when writing either and I somehow have to stick to this routine right now to lock in more efficiently LOL

48. What's the last fic you read? Do you recommend it?

out of my league by soryoru (it's a short smau on boyfriend yuji texts that I stumbled on my fyp LMAO) for a really quick read, it's kinda cute and I pretty much enjoyed reading it so why not. (I just didn't reblog it because I am not very in the jjk fandom...😭 not even done w s2...🥀)
