• don’t give your child a gift and then take it away because “you paid for it.”
• DO NOT ridicule your child for their sexual preference.
• DO NOT ridicule your child for their gender identity.
• don’t tell them they can make a decision for themselves and then get mad when they choose the “wrong decision”.
• let them freely practice and experiment with any religion, not just yours.
• DO NOT NOT NOT THREATEN TO SEND THEM AWAY TO AN ORPHANAGE/FOSTER HOME IF THEY MISBEHAVE
• don’t tell you child they have to ask for ANY food before they get it (because from experience i can say it ruins your life when you visit other people’s houses)
• PLEASE DON’T TELL YOUR CHILD THEY LOOK BAD IF THEY CANT FIX IT IN FIVE MINUTES (weight, clothing they like to wear, ect. is a big no no and can cause huge self-hatred issues)
• please dont get mad at your child when they open up to you and it has something to do with you and then wonder why they spend half their time in their room like a hermit and never open up to you.
• dont treat them like shit and wonder why they dont respect you.
• dont bribe them to do what you want by offering them a “treat” if they do what you want OR EVEN WORSE THREATEN TO TAKE THEIR PERSONAL BELONGINGS AWAY IF THEY DONT DO WHAT YOU WANT ALL THE TIME.
• dont deny that you are in a bad mood and then blame them for every problem that caused your mood
• dont deny that you have made a mistake and messed up.
• dont deny their mental instabilities/disorders.
• get the medication they need.
• get the therapy they need.
DON’T FUCKING EMOTIONALLY ABUSE YOUR KIDS BECAUSE EMOTIONAL ABUSE IS ABUSE TOO.
I CAN LITERALLY TELL YOU FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE THAT ALL OF THESE THINGS FUCK UP A KID’S LIFE AND RUIN THEIR PERSONALITIES.
DON’T BE A DICK. ACT LIKE AN ADULT.
