i think my problem with drv3 video essays is their lack of whimsy. i feel like so much of v3 can be solved with whimsy. i understand that it deserves serious critique but at some point you have to suspend your disbelief for the game about teenagers killing each other ykwim. but on the other hand the problem is also that they never care THAT much, so it just leaves me wishing that actual fandom people made drv3 video essays because otherwise these youtubers just don't have the needed insight into the game to properly critique the characters

i also think that sometimes the answer is just "yea that's the point". i have thoughts about tsumugi but her being a shitty villain is the point. the game being too similar to thh and sdr2 is the point. the motives/plot being batshit insane/washed out is the point. it's been going on for 53 seasons, bro, theyre gonna run out of ideas eventually. it's the point it's the point. yea v3 has its drawbacks but you have to trust the studio at least a little that they know what theyre doing.
