Then, I moved to Hawkins. Everything felt weird in that town, like there was something being hidden - like a secret that no one was meant to know. It was my first day at the high school so before I went to school I dropped off my cousin, Alana, at the middle school. She was an ass, but she sure can back you up and she is a great person to lean on.

After everything, I got to school and parked my car, this blue Camero pulling up next to me. I look and I see this attractive boy and he winks at me, but I didn’t show that I was interested in him; so, I got out of my car and walked inside the school.

I heard whispers from fellow students, then noticed them pointing and starring at me - and of course the jocks were smirking and winking. But I continued to walk until I got to class, and sat at an empty desk next to a boy that looked cute when he smiled.

“Hey, I’m Steve Harrington.“ He said, sticking out his hand for me to shake.

“Hello Steve, I’m Y/N.” I smile at him and shake his hand.

“You are beautiful.” He said, smiling shyly.

“Thanks, you’re not so bad yourself.”

Steve laughs, and class begins. I introduce myself to the class before sitting back down, the attractive boy from earlier and his friends were throwing things at my head to get my attention.

“Hargrove do you want a detention date with me later on today?” Mr. Glen asked Hargrove.

“No sir.” he said with a light smirk.

“Then leave Y/N alone, Billy.” Mr. Glen sternly told him.

The bell rang to go home. I walked to my car and sat there to think about today and how crazy it was. I had lots of people come up to me, asking questions about my race and who I got it from.

But, I met Alana’s friends older siblings. I meant Will’s older brother, Jonathan, and Mikes older sister, Nancy. As I’m thinking, a knock on my passenger door window catches my attention. I turn to the noise and see Harrington. I let him in.

“What’s up Harrington?” I say while smiling.

“I wanted to see if you were interested in hanging out later today?” He asks, looking at me, unsure of what I would say.

“Yeah sure. Here, call me when you think of what we’re gonna do and the time.” I say while writing my number down.

I look at Steve, noticing him looking shocked. I let out a giggle. “Harrington, what’s with you?” I say giving him the paper.

“Nothing, I just thought you would actually say no. I didn’t think you liked me.” He says while looking away from me.

I grab his hand in mine. “Steve, I do like you. You were the first person to be friendly to me.” I say, a smile crossing my features in reaction to his.

Someone knocks on my window again, breaking the moment. I roll it down and the person sticks their head in.

“Hey Harrington, hey princess.” Billy says and winks at me with a cigarette in his mouth. “What you guys doing tonight? There’s a party at Cindy’s, you guys going?” I look to Steve, finding him to already be looking at me, before I look back to Billy, then…
