( cis man | he/him | jorge lopez ) —— isn’t that EDWARD “TEDDY” TONKS? yeah that is them, outside the three broomsticks! they used to be in HUFFLEPUFF but apparently they now work as a BARTENDER at the HOG’S HEAD INN. sybill once said that they reminded her of sparks of fire seconds before it begins to burn, unrelenting urge to voice an opinion even when its not needed, an intense and irresistible desire for freedom, repeating ‘what ifs’ that are consequence of self-regret, an intuitive attraction to things opposite from his thinking, and the eye of a hurricane ready to destroy which seems about right. anyway i’ve heard they’re still a bit BRAZEN, PROTEAN, and SPONTANEOUS, they’re TWENTY now but some things never change! i wonder how being a MUGGLEBORN is affecting them after hogwarts, especially now they’re an ASSOCIATE with the ORDER OF THE PHOENIX? i guess only time will tell…

             ❛  even  if  i  was  busy  —  you  know  i’d  clear  my  schedule  to  hang  out  with  you  and  discounted  beer  in  a  muggle  bar,  are  you  kidding  ?!  i  may  not  know  much  either,  but  do  you  think  it’d  be  weird  if  i.  .  .  you  know,  took  notes  ?  ❜

           ❝      final   demand   ?      how   can   there   be   mare   than   one   final   demand   ?      ❞

she knew he would tell them, he couldn’t afford to be coy about where he was, not with what was going on, but she couldn’t describe her need to hear it. sheepish smile stretching her lips - nearly apologetic as she gave him a nod, “you haven’t slept over in a while - i’m excited” passionate that they were certainly not too old for a pillow fort. smile widening as she gave his arm a gentle squeeze, “absolutely –” firm as she gave her a positively excited nod, “perhaps next week? or maybe the week after – i miss them” the tonks gave her the same feeling she had when she was at home – complete and utter peace. 

“they know and they will be scarce –” shrugging, “seems like they have their own thing going on, haven’t been prying too much, it’s been a bit crazy” she admitted, holding out her hand for him as they created enough space from the memorial. “i’ll get us there, yeah? my mind is clear –” she promised.

     the  relief  on  her  face  is  almost  instant  and  teddy   finds  comfort  that  he  is  able  to  ease  molly  somehow .  she  had  a  tendency  to  care  more   about  him  than  he  did  himself  ,  and  the  current  tension  had  only  exacerbated  .  it  was  understandable  ,  but  still  felt  burdensome .  he  just  wanted  to  live  in  bliss  -  free  of  having  to  worry  what  each  conversation  could  become  and  it’s  a  topic  that  teddy  has  yet  to  bring  up  with  molly .  she’s  a   pureblood .     ❝  and  i  can  say  with  the  upmost  estimation  that  they  would  love  to  see  you  around  more  often  .    i  think  mum  has  some  idea  that  you’re  a  good  influence  or  something  like  that ,   ❞         

        ❝      it’s   amycus   carrow   ,      tonks   .      i   don’t   need   to   have   much   of   an   imagination   to   imagine   what   would   happen   were   the   pair   of   you   to   meet   ,      what   seems   to   have   happened   .      it’s   a   big   world   tonks   ,      people   are   always   going   to   wind   up   hurt   if   they   don’t   watch   themselves      ❞      her   voice   stayed   steady   but   for   the   quickest   of   moments   there   was   a   flicker   of   fear   that   passed   her   countenance   as   she   tried   to   reel   back   what   had   been   let   slip   .      she   knew   not   what   had   happened   ,     just   what   she   had   allowed   to   happen   and   that   had   clouded   her   —   he   had   never   said   what   had   happened   ,      had   barely   hinted   that   something   had   even   happened   and   here   she   was   making   all   sorts   of   assumptions   a   truly   innocent   party   would   be   yet   to   come   to   .      ❝      am   i   meant   to   be   there   to   blow   a   whistle   and   warn   you   every   time   you   might   stub   a   toe   ?      when   a   piece   of   parchment   might   cut   your   finger   ?      careful   tonks   ,      there’s   fire   there   .      and   that’s   hot      ❞      trying   to   meet   his   gaze   with   one   as   cold   as   stone   and   being   left   glaring   at   him   as   he   busied   himself   .

          “excuse me,” walden snapped. “isn’t that what magic for?” he asked, looking at the stain with a disgusted look on his face. if they couldn’t be bothered to get rid of it, then maybe he shouldn’t be eating here. “what is bleach?” 

           amycus  can’t  help  but  grin  at  the  mudblood’s  tone,  one  that  probably  makes  him  think  he’s  all  high  and  mighty.  ❛  oh,  i  do.  ❜  he  answers  plainly  with  a  simple  nod.  ❛  are  you  sure  yours  do  ?  i  didn’t  hurt  you  too  badly,  did  i  ?  ❜  

             ❛  a  for  effort  ?  to  be  frank,  i’m  surprised  my  lack  of  an  argument  was  able  to  convince  you  as  such  —  but  here,  i’ll  buy  you  the  next  round  to  make  up  for  it.  sound  fair  enough  ?  ❜  

“incoming!” she shouted, but to be truthful, mina would have been just as satisfied if teddy hadn’t been forewarned. she’d flung one of their serving trays on the counter and jumped on it at a run – just because she knew the counter was sanitized didn’t make it any less grimy– sliding down the length of the bar to reach him. her tray slowed to a stop, but her mouth didn’t, and immediately she was full of spirit.  “we’re outta here in ten minutes, and neither of us works tomorrow…. so what are we doing tonight, tedward??? something fun??? something wild??? something scary??? do you want to go help me vandalize the burke house? we could try and go catch a movie, maybe? something might still be open.”

     even  at  mina’s  warning ,  teddy  is  caught  off  guard .  he  watches  her ,  eyes  twinkling  with  the  very  same  bright  smile  that’s  extended  across  his  lips .  it  was  the  end  of  a  several  day  stretch ,  and  all  he  really  craved  was  some  kind  of  relief.  anything  to  not  go  back  home  ,  so  he’d  relent  to  her  ideas  of  fun .  ❝  everything’s  probably  close  for  the  day   near  here  ,❞  teddy  points  out ,  making  fact  that  most  wizards  he  knew  would  not  be  caught  lurking  in  the  streets  at  this  time  .  ❝  the  muggle  city  might  be  a  bit  different ,  though . there’s  always  a  disco  club  open  - ❞         

“thank you –” grateful smile at her lips as she took his hand easily, her own gaze searching for her parents before she gave them a quick nod – weaving through the crowd carefully, careful to not let go. 

“our options are limited –” she admitted, she knew everyone was at the memorial - as they should be. noticing a bench in front of the sweet shop, emme found herself collapsing on the seat easily, letting go of him to grip the wood. “sorry for dragging you here –” she mumbled, she had done what she thought they both needed, but now she couldn’t help but wonder if he had tagged along for sympathy – he was stronger than her, she was sure of it. 

        teddy  offers  emmeline  a  shrug ,  already  having  told  himself  that  he’d  follow  her  just  about  any where .  anything  was  better  than  the  banquet  hall .  ❝   it’s  not  your  fault, ❞   teddy  corrects  the  witch ,  choosing  to  stay  standing  so  he  is  forced  to  look  away  from  where  they  had  come  from .  he’d  even  wager  that  she  needed  the  change  of  scenery  herself .  

           amycus  was  running  errands,  not  for  himself  this  time,  but  for  his  mother  who  had  grown  a  little  ill.  with  his  items  in  a  bag,  he  sharply  turned  on  his  heel,  ignoring  those  around  him  enough  to  have  run  into  someone,  shoulder  checking  them  on  accident…  technically.  ❛  watch  it.  ❜  

it had been one of the longest day’s in arden’s life. perhaps that was a bit dramatic, bit her parents had been full force today. they had a meeting with the dark lord, arden having gone to it, the looks that she had gotten from members were enough to send a chill down her spine, being touched on the arm by him and feeling a phantom burn of a mark that wasn’t there yet and knowing that despite what she wanted for herself this was the future that she would eventually succumb to. there had been many conversations, looks that lingered for far too long over the girl, her parents putting way more expectations on her than necessary, promising things that arden didn’t want to do but when it came to them she had become putty, mouldable with their words and actions. what they said would go, and she was braced with a task, one that she had been preparing for a very long time. she had to show her worthiness, her strength and power, it didn’t help that her parents had threatened her, saying that if she didn’t eventually go through with what they wanted then she was no longer welcomed into their home. she doesn’t know how she ends up here, her moves are zombie like, she’s numb from the night, stepping in. she knows that teddy is saying something but it goes one ear out the other. “i need a drink.” she says, not an option, no room for questions. she’s so far away from him, her moves are calculated as she steps closer, her hand in her long coat clutching her wand. “now.”

She’s glad to have someone else with her, still feeling out of place alone in London. “My da’s in London today for his work. Thought I’d come with him and spend some time in Diagon Alley. I’m meant to be meeting him soon.” She smiled and nodded. “They have, thank you. And yourself?”
