So remoras don’t have any negative effects on the fish they stick to except the aerodynamics of swimming a tiny bit but that depends on what creature it’s attached to. They feed off of any parasites the creature they’re attached to might have and they can stay attached for about 3 months! Now from what I personally think of Ogilvie is that boy is bad at socializing but he knows his doctor shit and knows how to physically help people and he does attach to authority figures for approval and to make his time working under them easier which is exactly what remora do, maybe it’s more mental in him as human as opposed to instincts and need to survive by remora. Remora need to move to breathe just like sharks and can’t survive in still water because it needs water to flow over his gills to get oxygen. It can swim on its own but they don’t really do that unless moving from one creature to the other. Something something Ogilvie needing approval from people in his life to feel fulfilled. He is so remora to me.

There’s a lot of Ogilvie ships mainly him and Park the shark which I like in this like alternate universe where they’re all merpeople. You’re never going to guess what creature I think Park is guys.

It’s a shark. Now I was debating on what species of shark he would be and I think he’s a bull shark. It lives in warmer oceans just like the remora. They’re aggressive which I think fits by what we know of Park from the 10 seconds of screen time he had, a very dominant and assertive person. Remora do attach to bull sharks and I think they’re both very cool.

Big fan of Ogilvie and Park on and off relationship which can be seen literally in remora behaviour with the attaching and stuff plus I can image Park swimming through the oceans minding his own business while there’s a slightly infuriatingly chatty remora attached to his side. Maybe because of his aggressive bull shark nature he sometimes gets sick of him and tries to get him off, could be by threatening him or maybe he could like purposefully bump into rocks but I don’t know if sharks can do that so that’s just for the plot in my mind. Either way the remora sometimes disappears for a while but he always seems to come back to him because apparently he’s ridden with a lot of good tasting parasites. A bad excuse that has him baring his teeth but he gets lonely sometimes as most fish tend to stay clear of him due to his aggressive nature and his species are vulnerable to extinction because humans hunt them to keep them away from human populated areas because of that as well.
