GUILTY! ) while throat remained muted ; never once having wanted to see her flinch in the way she used to … the way he’d made her to …  but that nagging voice in the back of throbbing skull reminded him: since when did she deserve your PITY?  he was just a child.  their child : their MISTAKE.

“I never hid from you.”  scorch marks and the unmistakable scent of BURNING FLESH had always followed in his wake.  oceanic hues glimpsing down the bridge of his nose at her as hands were willfully RESTRAINED to the depths of barren pockets.  to smolder and let old wounds fester.  “you just never bothered to look.”

    ”You know well I saw you, Touya. I was the only one who did...” Rei stared up at her beloved son with sadness. Look at what they had become. What that man had done to them...”I loved you more than air. I still do, son.” She murmured. “I just-....I suppose you were right about me. I was never strong enough. I’m weak.”

“All I ever wanted was for you to know happiness....I wanted you to fl, the run from  this pain, this life. I’m just-...” The snowy haired woman shook her head, ignoring as tears began their hot tracks down her cheeks. “I’m just sorry, so sorry I couldn’t be the hero you needed. I was weak. So weak...I still am. You have every right to hate. To want me dead.” Rei whispered. “If killing me would make you happy...then do what you must.”

 It was just punishment wasn’t tit? For all her failures.

     “I-...What mother fears her child? I’ve failed you enough. To abandon you would only mean more shame. I love you Touya...even if you hate me. Hate all of us. You’re my son.” With a shaky breath she reached out, grabbing his arms.
