It would be nice just in case!!
(I uh also do have a request for another Kate x reader and ik you just finished the last one but I really liked it and think you’re very good at writing her!!!)
I was thinking something like Kate and reader who are just as equally obsessed and in love with each other. Kate works for slender and reader doesn’t but just does whatever she has to do to be with Kate?? I was thinking kinda like how I forgot the two but in the Walter files or something like Joe and Love for you but not toxic??? (IM SORRY I HAD A HUGE BRAIN FART AND SPAT THIS OUT😓)
-🤫 thank you tho again!!!

The forest was dense, dark shadows and suffocating silence, a place where the air tasted like ancient decay and wet soil. For most, it was a death sentence. For you, it was simply the commute.
You stepped over a root, your flashlight cutting a weak, trembling path through the tree line. You didn’t belong here, not in the way she did. You were flesh, blood, and fragile mortality, while Kate… Kate was something else entirely. She was a creature of the static, a servant to the Tall Man, bound by a duty she can’t escape, a duty that demanded everything.
But she had chosen to keep you, devote her entire life to you. And in return, you had chosen to follow her every step.
You reached the clearing, the familiar hum of static prickling against your skin like needles and rattled in your ears. She was waiting, she knew you were following her. Kate stood near the edge of the treeline, her mask reflecting the moonlight, her posture rigid until she really saw you. The moment your eyes locked, the tension in her shoulders vanished.
"You shouldn't be here," she said, her voice muffled by the mask, yet laced with that familiar, desperate hunger. "He’s close tonight. The static… it’s thick. It isn’t safe for you."
"I don't care," you replied, lightly sprinting towards her, closing the distance between the both of you. You reached out, your fingers trembling as you traced the edge of her mask. "I told you. I’m not going anywhere. I wanna be here, with you." You stutter, quickly wiping the sweat off your forehead from the humidity of the dense forest.
She let out a shaky, jagged breath, dropping her guard completely. She leaned into your touch, her forehead resting against yours. The obsession was a two way street, a consuming fire that burned between you. You were obsessed with the way she moved, the way she protected you, the way she looked at you as if you were the only girl in a world, especially in hers of madness. She was obsessed with your warmth, your heartbeat, the way you looked at her as if she was still human, it’s the very thing she’s supposed to be hunting, yet found herself worshipping instead.
"You’re so reckless," she whispered, her hands coming up to grip your waist, pulling you flush against her. Her touch was cold, but it sent a jolt of electricity through your veins. "If he knows you’re here—"
"Then he knows." you interrupted, tilting your head to press a kiss to the side of her mask. "I’d rather be in danger with you than safe without you."
Kate let out a sound that was half-sob, half-laugh. She pulled back just enough to lift the bottom of her mask, revealing the pale skin of her jaw and the intensity in her eyes. She kissed you then, a desperate, bruising collision of lips that tasted of iron and her faint cherry chapstick you forced her to wear, her tongue slipped in without a thought, and the sensation of your tongues twirling together made you dizzy. It was a kiss that spoke of everything you couldn't say, the fear, the devotion, and the terrifying realization that you were both completely ruined for anyone else.
She pulled away slowly, wiping the spit dripping down your mouth with her thumb, her eyes searching yours, checking for any sign of hesitation. She found none. You were just as far gone as she was.
She kept your face between her hands before speaking, "Stay close," she commanded, her voice dropping to a low, protective growl. She took your hand, her grip iron-tight, refusing to let go. "If the static gets too loud, you close your eyes. You don't look. You just listen to me."
"I'm yours," you promised, squeezing her hand back.
she led you deeper into the woods, into the heart of the nightmare she called home, you didn't feel fear. You felt a strange, twisted sense of peace. You were an outsider in her world, a civilian in a war of shadows, but as long as her hand was in yours, you were exactly where you wanted to be.
You were both obsessed, both devoted, and in the silence of the woods, you were the only two things that mattered.
A/N - I swear I feel like my oneshots suck and I have no solid plan when writing them 😭 I really hope this is good? I’m not sure if I’m like half assing without even realizing it but we ball. I swear my big Kate fic will be better then these I promise 😞.
