Tim Wright/Masky x afab reader : CHAPTER TWO
Where you meet a rather mysterious and handsome-looking man whilst working at a gas station's convenience store and end up becoming a regular. But there's something weird about him you can't help but want to investigate. However, that seems to get you in trouble with people who are connected to him, and now you find yourself wishing you'd never met him.
WARNING: this story is fictional and contains violent and mature themes, so read at your own discretion. Reader is 20 years old at the time; Tim/Masky is 24. 4.1k words
You were awoken by the slow drip of water from the ceiling. Your head was spinning, and your eyes were burning. Looking around, you seemed to be in a 30-square-foot basement. There were no windows to look outside, and the room seemed completely empty other than a toilet and a small table in the middle of the room with a red rug under it. No chairs, no sharp objects, no electronic devices.
''Where's my phone?'' You whispered to yourself, searching your pockets and surroundings for your phone, but it was nowhere to be found. You undeniably were in the basement of the person who kidnapped you. Duh.
You remembered that the last person you saw before your vision faded was Tim. Was he the one who brought you here? Probably. Whoever it was, you needed to find a way to get out. You got off the air mattress and approached the wall. Knocking thrice, you noticed that the sound was heavy and dull rather than hollow.
''Soundproof, of course.'' You sighed. So no matter how hard you yelled, nobody would come. You noticed stairs leading upstairs, so you figured you were underground, not inside the house itself. Or whatever building you were under. Approaching the stairs, you saw a door at the end, and you walked until you reached it. Pulling, pushing, rattling. It was locked, so no chance of getting out the door, great.
''godamnit.'' You cursed, walking back down the stairs and sitting on the air mattress. The basement looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages, and it weirdly smelled like blood and cigarettes. To your (mis)fortune, you heard the door unlock, and heavy footsteps following. You straightened your posture, waiting to see who would appear.
''Ah, you're awake.'' A familiar voice spoke. His face seemed to be covered with a dark balaclava-style mask and a sad face drawn to it. You didnt speak at first, still trying to recognise to whom that voice belonged to.
''Brought you food.'' The man said as he put a plate of chicken and rice on the empty table, along with plastic cutlery. He then slowly took his mask off, revealing,
''Brian? What the fuck is going on?'' you huffed as you pointed at your surroundings. Brian chuckled, as if he was expecting you to bombard him with questions. ''Before we get to that, eat.''
You hesitated at first; what if the food was poisoned? Nothing and nobody was to be trusted anymore, by the way it seemed. But if they wanted to kill you, they'd have done it already. Eventually, you walked towards the table as Brian observed.
''Tim should be home soon.'' He said when you finished your food. So they really were behind all this. You almost got the urge to laugh. ''Why are you doing this?'' You asked, confused.
''You were risking our lives searching about us like you did. And Toby was an idiot for spurring you on.'' He said, and you scoffed ''Risking your lives? What are you talking about?''
Brian remained silent, refusing to give out more information than necessary, which was a bummer, but also gave you an idea about who they really were.
''Well, until we're sure you can keep your mouth shut, you'll be staying here'' You glared at him, a sign that you weren't interested in talking anymore. Brian seemed to have taken the message, so he left the basement.
''Idiot,'' you whispered to yourself when he left. If only the fork and the knife weren't plastic, but there wasn't much you could do about it. They really thought everything through. You ended up waiting a while before you heard the door open again.
''Hi, sugar.'' He said as he approached you carefully, carrying some books. ''Don't call me that, not anymore.'' You replied, a bit harshly. At this point, you didn't care; he was literally keeping you locked in a basement with no contact with the outside world.
''Look, I didn't have a choice, okay? I'm doing this for you.'' He sighed, placing the stuff on the table next to your plate. ''For me? What kind of bullshit excuse is that?'' You stood up, walking up to him and slapping his cheek.
Tim didn't speak, but his silence spoke volumes. For a moment, you just stared at each other, as if it were a challenge. You weren't sure if Tim was going to choke you again or start spitting more bullshit. But if you wanted to escape, you had to be twice as smart.
''How long was i out?'' You asked, touching your neck to feel the bruising. Tim noticed, glancing down at your neck before making eye contact again. ''Maybe 15 hours.''
Fifteen hours. You had no idea where you were or how far you were from home. What about your job? What about Christina? What about college and your family? Were you never going to get out?
Tim saw the look of despair on your face and sighed. ''I brought you books to keep yourself busy. Check 'em out if you want.'' He said in a softer voice than usual, as if he pitied you.
''Was it real..?'' You suddenly whispered, eyes watery as you looked at Tim. ''I...'' he hesitated. ''It was. I really like you,[name], but...'' ''Whatever,'' you huffed, throwing your hands in the air dramatically. Your throat hurt too much to start yelling and arguing back and forth.
''Jack will mend to your, uh...injuries,'' Tim cleared his throat as he pointed at your neck. Jack? He's never mentioned anyone named Jack before. You didn't reply, and Tim took that as a sign to leave. He took the plate and cutlery and went back up.
You wondered if you would be able to escape. Both Tim and Brian had thought everything through. It would be difficult to leave. For now, you decided to take a look at the books he had brought you. A novel, a magazine, a few more mystery and romance books, and a survival guide?
''Why would he give me that?'' you huffed out a laugh. This may be helpful in the future. You read a few pages.
The 5 basic survival skills, starting with First Aid. You managed to cover that chapter, reading it as if you were going to disappear tomorrow. But before you managed to get to the second chapter, you heard the door open again.
How much time had passed? There was nothing in this basement that showed the time. Was it night or day? It didn't matter now, because your eyes widened upon seeing this creature that appeared.
''What the fuck?!'' you screamed, crawling away from the...whatever that was. It was around 5'11 feet tall (180cm), with grey skin and a weird blue mask. Black liquid seemed to be coming out of the eyes, trickling down the mask and onto the floor. (LOL im sorry for trashing on him like that its for the sake of the plot)
The creature didn't react, only set the medical supplies on the table and looked at you. ''Did Masky not tell you about me?'' It spoke. Masky? What the fuck was it talking about?
''...what?'' you blinked. Your head was starting to spin again. There was too much going on for you to process. ''I was tasked with healing your bruised area, as well as checking your vitals.'' Change of subject.
''You're Jack..?'' It nodded. Well, he. ''Sorry for that, then. It's just...'' You paused, looking at him from head to toe. He seemed to have gotten the message. ''Yes, i did expect that reaction.'' Jack nodded as he patted the space next to him. ''I need to examine you.'' He said.
Nervously, you walked towards him until you were sitting right in front of him. Next to you was the table. ''I will be checking your blood pressure, body temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate,'' Jack explained, and you nodded. You were still in disbelief, trying to make sense of his....well, everything.
He didnt seem to mind, and it was all over before you realized, you only snapped back to reality when he spoke again. ''Your vitals are fine.'' He commented, handing you an ice pack with a small towel. ''Wrap this around your neck and hold it there for 15 minutes. No sudden movements of your neck.''
''Thanks, uh..'' you almost whispered. ''Are you a doctor?'' He chuckled. ''I was.'' past tense? you frowned.
''Was?'' You raised your eyebrow. Jack just hummed and gathered his supplies. ''I will check on you tomorrow.'' Great, another question that went unanswered. ''Wait!'' you called out to Jack, and he turned around to look at you. ''I'm bored. Isn't there anyone i can talk to?''
Jack stared at you for a bit, analyzing you, trying to understand your motive behind your words. Eventually, he nodded. ''There is someone who would love your company.''
''You're Tim's friend!'' You pointed at the woman. It was the same person from that day in his truck. She was wearing the same mask she wore back then. But the only thing you were met with was silence and a pair of eyes staring at you.
''Can you not speak? Do you not understand english? Where's Tim??'' you kept asking her random questions, testing her patience. But she didnt budge at all. She stood still and watched. Fuck Jack, and fuck everyone who lived in this house.
''Can you at least tell me what your name is?'' You sighed. The woman looked like she was thinking about it for a second, and thankfully, she had had enough of your pestering.
''Kate.'' she simply said. It was a victory for you! ''How do you know Tim?'' Silence again. Who were these people even? You groaned, falling back on the air mattress. ''Kateee!'' A boyish voice sang, alongside a tic.
Toby ran down the stairs, his ticcing slightly interfering with his speech. Kate sighed but ignored him, and you just looked at both. ''You're spending-fuck!-spending time with-'' a tic ''with [name] without me?'' He chuckled as he leaned on Kate's shoulder.
''Off me, idiot.'' She hissed and pushed him away. Toby just grinned, the gash on his cheek making it even more disgusting for you. ''Can someone tell me where the fuck i am, and why im here?!'' You caught their attention by yelling.
Kate looked at Toby, and he looked at Kate. ''You're in a basement.'' Toby's shoulder jerked, forcing a grunt out of him. ''And you're here bec-fuck you!-because Masky is too in love with you to let you go.''
''Toby.'' Kate scolded, kicking him in the leg. But surprisingly, Toby didnt react at all. As if he couldnt feel it. He laughed. ''What? She-bitch-she deserves tuh-to know.'' ''Stop making it more difficult, Masky will deal with her.''
''Who the fuck is masky?'' you scoffed in frustration. You were getting tired of these people acting like this. You just wanted to go home. ''Stay here, do as we tell you, and maybe you'll live.'' Kate approached you, holding a knife against your bruised throat.
''O-Okay, im sorry. I won't ask.'' That made Kate take a few steps back. Toby stayed still and only moved when Kate forced him to. ''Great talk!'' He smirked before going up the stairs with her, leaving you alone once again.
''assholes.'' you muttered. You were tired; you didn't have any energy left to do anything else. Before long, sleep overtook you. You weren't sure if you were going to wake up again. Part of you didn't want to, but you also wanted to go back to your normal life.
You had no idea how long you'd been in this godamn basement. Weeks? Months? Every day was the same. Wake up, eat, read a book, sleep, repeat. The only contact you had with the outside world was Tim and his psycho friends who called him Masky for some reason. But no matter how many times you asked, you were met with the same answer. Silence.
''Good morning.'' Jack greeted as he entered the basement. He was the only sane person there, and you sometimes conversed when he had free time.
''Hey, Jack. You sighed, giving him a weak smile. You were so tired. ''EJ is fine too.'' He said as he sat on the floor, putting on his stethoscope to check your heartbeat. ''Okay, EJ. You chuckled as you let him examine you.
''Deep breath in, and out.'' He reminded you, and you followed. Once he was done checking your health, you decided to ask again. Maybe he'd understand.
''When can i get out..?'' you looked at him, and Jack paused. You noticed he tended to do that when he was caught off guard. ''I...dont know. But we're keeping you here for a reason, [name]. We want to stay hidden, protected. And you put our lives at risk by searching for answers.''
''Putting your lives at risk, how?'' you asked, looking at Jack with pure confusion. Before he could answer, you sensed something behind you. ''I think that's enough chit-chat, you two,'' Tim said. You didnt even notice him enter the basement.
''See you, [name].'' Jack said before disappearing up the stairs and out of the basement. You didn't reply. You didn't even look at Jack, because all you could think about was Tim.
''Morning, hun.'' Tim smiled and kissed your temple. You should've shoved him away, cuss him out for keeping you here, and be infuriated. But you simply couldn't, and it pissed you off.
''Tim, please. Im going crazy in here. You finally broke down in tears. It was suffocating, torturous. You wanted to see natural light, not artificial. You wanted to breathe fresh air and talk to people.
'Whoa, hey.'' He whispered, taking your hand in his. ''Its okay, baby, you've been good.'' He comforted you, giving each one of your cheeks a kiss.. ''I just want things to go back to normal.'' you sobbed, too weak to move or curse.
Tim looked at you. He seemed to be regretting his actions. Maybe. ''Need you to calm down, yeah?'' Tim spoke, his hand stroking your hair in hopes of cheering you up. And he sucked at it.
“I love you, [Name]. From the first time I saw you.” He frowned, his hand leaving your hair so you could look at him better. “This isn’t love, Tim! It’s kidnapping. Its obsession! How can you call this love?!” You yelled, tears hot against your cheeks.
Tim stayed silent. There wasn’t much he could say; he knew you were right. But he didn’t want to risk you finding out about his real job, about how messed up his life is…besides the kidnapping. He would make it right.
“I’m sorry.” That surprised you. “You should be,” you reply, wiping the tears away. “I am, honey; I really am. And you’ll be out of here soon.”
what? Now he randomly spits out shit like that.
“What…?” You shake your head; he can’t be serious. One thing is confessing out of the blue, but this is..
“We’re gonna need to leave, okay? In a few hours.” That was it. Your way out. Your eyes widened at the sudden surprise.
“Why? What’s going on?” You asked, finally getting yourself together and gathering your thoughts. You noticed a pocket knife in his jeans.
“Let’s just say it’s not safe for us here anymore.” He patted your head, and got up. No, you needed him now more than ever.
“Wait!” You held his hand, looking up at him with wide eyes as you got up yourself. He hummed. “What is it?” You tightened your grip on his hand.
“I love you too.” You whispered, your lips parting. Tim looked like he didn't know what emotion to convey first. Confusion, surprise, relief? He ended up staring at your hands.
''You...You're serious..?'' He hesitated for a bit, whispering as he squeezed your hand. You exhaled and smiled. ''Yes, i...i cant help but love you.'' You whispered back as you moved closer to him, to the point where your noses touched.
Tim's hand found your waist, touching you as if you were a delicate vase, leaning in closer and closer until your lips touched. His lips were chapped and he smelled and tasted like cigarettes and cheap alcohol, with a hint of shampoo. It was a weird combination.
The kiss lasted for a bit, almost turning into a full on make out session with tongues fighting against each other's mouths, and hands exploring. Your hands wandered down, down, down...
''Okay,'' Tim laughed, pulling away. His hands stayed put on your waist, and you smiled. ''Enough for now, you're distracting me.'' you chuckled.
''Sorry,'' you mouthed before taking a step back. ''Don't be,'' he shook his head. ''I really do like you, [name].'' he said, and you sighed. You didnt reply, but you both knew the answer. He eventually broke eye contact and left.
You fell to your knees. ''I really just did that.'' you whispered as you took out the pocket knife from the pocket of your jeans. You had successfully stolen a knife, and you were weirdly proud of it. This was your chance of finally escaping.
The door opened again, and footsteps echoed in the basement as you looked up from your feet. Was it night? day? Were they going to take you far away? No, you shouldn't think about that. You needed to escape.
''Truck's ready. Im guh-gonna have to tie your hands.'' Toby's voice rang in your ears as he approached you, rope in his hands. You didn't speak, but you gave him your hands. You had no choice anyway.
''Suh-So obedient.'' He mocked, laughing at your humiliated face. It was stupid, all of it. And you were sure these guys were serial killers, even if they refused to admit it.
Behind Toby stood Kate, her arms crossed and expression unreadable as always. You had barely noticed her given how quiet she always was. ''Where are we going?''
''It's a surprise.'' Toby's neck jerked to the right, emitting a grunt from him. Asshole. Kate huffed and finally spoke up. ''Quit talkin' to her, Tim's waitin' '' You raised your eyebrow.
''Party pooper.'' Toby rolled his eyes, tying your hands together and then grabbing you by the forearm. For the first time, you saw the house you had been trapped in for so long. It looked like a mansion, with multiple doors leading to multiple rooms and a huge hallway that led to the entrance of the house. How did they even manage to live here??
The house seemed to be hidden away in a forest, an oddly familiar forest. You looked around, but your memories were blurry. It irritated you. ''There they are.'' Kate pointed at Tim and Brian in the distance, smoking.
''Get in the truck.'' She simply said before going back inside the house. Was she not coming along? You glanced at Toby, but he also seemed like he would be staying behind.
''i thought we were moving?'' You asked Tim and Brian when you approached them, pointing back at the house where the others seemed to be. Brian crushed his cigarette with his foot. ''Yes, we.'' he replied.
''Where are we going?'' You asked again, although this time you expected no answer. ''Gonna get some stuff back from town and move to Atlanta.'' oh? That was a hell of a lot of information for someone so secretive.
You nodded, looking at both Brian and Tim before getting in the back of the truck. Once you were all settled, Brian started the car. He was the one driving now, huh.
You remembered the pocket knife you had stolen from Tim earlier and tried to reach your back pocket with your fingers. ''Ugh.'' you groaned. Your wrists hurt a lot, and the bumping of the car didnt help your case.
''You good, hun?'' Tim asked, looking at you in the front mirror. ''Y-Yeah, sorry,'' you laughed awkwardly. Brian smirked, ''Careful, don't hurt yourself.'' Brian said, making Tim laugh along with him. Not funny.
You ignored them both, focusing more on cutting the rope and getting away from them. The ride felt like it was going on for hours, and you desperately tried to free yourself.
snap, you heard when the rope finally set your hands free. Your eyes widened for a bit, and Brian took notice of that. ''Something wrong?'' He raised his eyebrow, nodding to Tim to take charge as he drove.
''N-Nothing, just a little hungry.'' you came up with a lame excuse, and he seemed to...believe it. ''I see. We'll make a stop soon.'' He smiled at you, and you smiled back. You needed to leave now before they noticed.
You looked outside the window. ''WELCOME'' read the sign. That was it, your chance to escape. ''Uh, do you mind opening the window a bit? Smells like cigarettes.'' You frowned at Tim, and he exhaled before nudging Brian's shoulder.
''Thanks.'' you smiled as the window next to you opened. You waited and waited until you saw a familiar neighborhood. Your neighborhood. Now or never, you thought to yourself as you looked at the two men. They seemed distracted.
You didnt waste a second. You jumped out the car window, startling both guys as you started to run. ''FUCK!'' Tim yelled as he looked at Brian.
You ran as fast as you could towards your apartment, the people around looking weirdly at you. What was weird to you was that neither were chasing after you. They just stared at you from the truck as if they were possessed. Whatever, you could deal with that later.
''Gotta call the police,'' you whispered, hyperventilating as you forced your apartment door open. It hurt; everything hurt, but you had to keep moving.
Your apartment was messy; everything was destroyed. Wallpaper, furniture, decorations- everything. Your eyes widened at the sight. What the fuck happened? You carefully walked around; there was blood splattered on the floor.
''the fuck..?'' you let out a choked breath, followed by a gasp when the TV suddenly opened. ''The body of Christina Sinclair was found in what was revealed to be the apartment of her co-worker [Name] [L/N], who also seems to be missing. The fingerprints on the murder weapon indeed revealed to be hers--'' your eyes burned, your throat closed up as the news reporter went on. The date of the news seemed to be two days after Tim took you. Was this a replay?
''What..? No, Christina can't be dead.'' You muttered, your vision now blurring as hot tears rolled down your cheeks. You managed to escape them just for the outside world to be even worse than the basement you were locked in. You were accused of Christina's murder, and now the police were involved.
Was it their doing? Did some random person just happen to kill Christina as she was visiting you? Is she even dead? You didn't know what was real anymore; you were exhausted. Weak, hungry. But you couldn't do anything; your heart hurt too much.
You crawled and crawled, hands getting dirty as you reached your kitchen. You noticed a note written in blood, Im sorry. You wanted to scream.
''Christina...'' you sobbed. At this point, you wondered if it wouldve been better to stay with Tim. He hadnt hurt you, he...
''he loves me?'' you grunted. ''What the fuck am i saying..'' your feet managed to carry you to the bathroom. It seemed fairly normal compared to the rest of the apartment. You tried to wash your hands, but there was no water.
''Great, just what i needed.'' you sighed. Before you were able to walk back to the living room, you heard a yell.
''This is the police! Whoever broke down this door, show yourself.'' You cringed at that.
You forced yourself to move back to the bathroom and closed the door. ''I'm fucked.'' you sighed as you looked around. You had no idea what to do; you'd only seen this stuff in movies. You heard footsteps. Two people? Maybe three? You weren't sure, but you refused to move.
The footsteps were getting closer and closer, and you could feel your heartbeat getting louder and louder in your ears. You wanted this to end; it's not like you asked for it.
''Open the door.'' One policeman banged on the bathroom door, and you whimpered in fear. You didn't want to go to jail. ''We'll give you three seconds to open the door yourself.'' The man said again.
You took out your pocket knife.
The counting then stopped, but so did their voices. The only thing you were met with was silence, and you didn't dare speak. Maybe it was a trap, and they were trying to lure you out.
''Its okay, sugar. Its just me.'' An incredibly familiar voice spoke instead.
Tim?? what the fuck is going on?
This is so rusheddd ahhh but I kind of liked how it turned out :33 I really appreciate everyone who supports my work and i will start on chapter 3 soon! Muah muah! 🧡
