For some strange reason, there are still people who headcanon that Frisk is mute and uses sign language to communicate or that they are blind and Chara has to guide them even though the game makes it clear that Frisk is neither of those.

Simply because Frisk’s sprite is too simple to show their eyes doesn’t mean that they are permanently closed or that they are blind.

Several characters mentions Frisk’s eyes, not only that but they mention the look in their eyes. Meaning that they are indeed looking at things.

Secondly, Frisk is said to be looking at things or to have looked at things a bunch of times in the narration.

Oh, and of course, Frisk can read.

Needless to say Frisk is far from being blind, and they are definitly not mute either.

"frisk looks at things." narrator chara theory. also, blind doesn't always fucking mean 'all i see is darkness'? "frisk can read." BRAILLE EXISTS. blind people read braille. "frisk says thing." maybe they're signing. maybe they're texting. maybe they're selectively mute and feel comfortable enough around toriel to talk to her on the phone. there are a lot of ways you can "get around" your disability, for lack of a better word.

the concept of trying to "prove" a character isn't disabled is already gross enough, like... people are allowed to headcanon disablities. but... these tags? oh my god, can you not?

this goes along with the beginning of the first sentence– maybe consider that the 'strange' reason people headcanon frisk as these things... is because they're disabled and want more disabled representation? or maybe they just fucking want to because they can and there's literally no harm in it.

"they already have it hard enough as it is," can you tone down your ableism? thanks. being disabled isn't a curse. it isn't something terrible. is it hard to be disabled? yes. it is. but it's not some terrible, awful thing. it's not going to ruin your life.

this post is just bad an ableist for a multitude of reasons– people are allowed to headcanon frisk as disabled. they're not trying to "make it harder for them," they're just seeing what the game gives us and deciding that they believe it lines up with muteness and/or blindness, so they decide to headcanon it. you don't even need obvious signs to headcanon a character as disabled. sometimes you just do it because you can.

of course, sometimes it can be harmful– for example, if someone (more specifically– a prosocial) were to headcanon some random serial killer character with aspd, then it would be harmful; when it perpetuates bigoted rhetoric [ in this case: "all people with aspd (or, as prosocials call us, 'psychopaths/sociopaths) are evil, emotionless killers" ] then you should say that it shouldn't be done. but for frisk? really?
