1. Your skin may never be perfect, and that’s okay. 2. Life is too short not to have the underwear, the coffee, and the haircut you want. 3. Everyone (including your family, your coworkers, and your best friend) will talk about you behind your back, and you’ll talk about them too. It doesn’t mean you don’t love each other. 4. It’s okay to spend money on things that make you happy. 5. Sometimes without fault or reason, relationships deteriorate. It will happen when you’re six, it will happen when you’re sixty. That’s life.

you slept in my bed and left claw marks on my sheets, as if leaving me was the hardest thing that you would ever come to know. i woke up at four in the morning to the slivers of moonlight embracing my scarred canvas, and oceans poured from my eyes as you slept soundly through the night. you left an awful taste in my mouth that only strong whiskey could temporarily wash away, and my pillowcase still smells like your cigarette breath and messy hair, and i swear that i see your silhouette in the glow of the refrigerator light as i sit on the kitchen floor waiting for something to begin or for something to end.

You can’t love someone unless you love yourself first — bullshit. I have never loved myself. But you — Oh god, I loved you so much I forgot what hating myself felt like.

I want a Christmas kiss

Some can read your sadness from your eyes even when you’re smiling. بعض الأشخاص، يقرأ حزنك من عيونك حتى و أنت تبتسم.

Eat food from farmers markets. Drink good tea each morning. Read books that make you feel. Paint, even if you’re awful. Write, even when you have nothing to say. Sit in the fresh air outside. Go on hikes. Swim in lakes and wade in streams. Sleep as long as you need. Work hard at what you love. Work hard at what you hate. Love unconditionally and wholeheartedly.

I’m stuck between wanting:

One day you lose something, and you say: ‘Oh my God. I was happy. And I didn’t even know it.’

1) You are allowed to take up space. You are a human. 2) You are allowed to have a voice. 3) You are allowed to leave whenever you feel unsafe or uncomfortable. 4) You deserve more than someone who doesn’t know how to respect you. 5) You are allowed to put your own needs first. 6) You are allowed to love yourself.
