Title: The True First Crash
A little few notes before we start 😣:
1. This is for shits and giggles, I can’t promise you that the characters would be exactly like the og lmfaooooo it’s mostly my POV of how they seemed like to me while reading. Also I’m kinda shitty on writing mysteries and puzzles so this would probably seems more like a romcom 😣
2. I don’t know how to write in third person POV so this was in first person POV, specifically for this ch it was from Mattias’s one 🫣
3. This isn’t really important but I was listening to “Maggots for Brains” by Olivia Rodrigo while writing it so if anyone wants to listen to it while reading!
Evelyn Blake was far from a great person, but nevertheless she was my sister (sort of?) and I would do anything for her.
Getting rid of her enemies.
Teaching her how to fight.
Embezzlement, Espionage, etc, you name it.
I would do it all for her.
Which is why it’s such a shame that my mind is conjuring ninety nine ways of torturing her for getting me into this mess.
And by this mess, I mean, stalking two seventeen years old girls who were like the north and south pole. Where one was ice in all forms, the other was a total hazard to herself and the rest of the world.
Savannah Grayson barely left her home—there isn’t any reason for her to do so, because she’s the kind of person that people go to instead.
Juliet Grayson, on the other hand, could physically not stay in her place for approximately seven seconds, and yes, I counted it, because apparently that was my new hobby now. Stalking the teenage sister of my sister’s ex-boyfriend.
Or was he her ex-situationship? I really don’t know much about whatever my sister and the heir apparent of the Hawthornes, Grayson Hawthorne, had between them. But my sister hated him now—badly, which already placed him in my shit-list. I didn’t ask her much about the details, because really, it wasn’t my business to interfere with any of her relationships or decisions—I knew she hated that, which is why I stayed silent on the matter until now.
The sound of crashing jolted me back to my reality—the alley I was hiding in. I leaned closer to take a look, where I found Juliet Grayson, the 5’3 hazard with zero survival instinct, kneeling down on the curb with blood dripping from her knees as she wrapped something small between her hands. Her jeans were tattered in many areas and covered in dirt, and her white shirt was stained with blood and grey spots.
“Are you insane, Gigi?!” The old man who was driving the truck bellowed as he got out of his now-destroyed vehicle. Apparently, he knew this little hurricane. I shouldn’t be surprised—everyone seemed to know her in one way or another.
But Juliet didn’t even take a moment to shake or get lost in her adrenaline and the fact that she was just about to die. No, that girl just looked back at the old man and laughed. “Sorry, sorry, Mike!” She raised the little creature from her arms, showing him what seemed to be a little Bengal kitten who had some scratches, but luckily not in a fatal position.
And I felt the air leave my lungs for a moment there. She…jumped in front of a truck just to save a kitten? It was ridiculous—really. It showed that she hadn’t given much thought to her own life before acting recklessly just to prove a point. But still…it was admirable, the way her recklessness took over her mind and made her courageous.
Maybe if you were like this when you were younger, you would have managed to stop your father. A stupid voice whispered in my head, but I chose to ignore it instead of wallowing about the past
“You were about to turn poor Katara into ground meat!” She held the kitten closer to her chest, scratching behind its ears. I watched in amusement as she nuzzled closer to her touch, feeling safe around this infuriating hurricane.
“You? Raising a kitten? Lord have mercy, since when did you even have one?” the old man muttered under his breath, and I had this sudden urge to slam his head against the wall solely because his tone with her irritated me.
“Since now!” Juliet—Gigi—answered enthusiastically as she placed the little kitten on one hand and reached for her phone with the other.
He looked at her incredulously. “Since now?”
“Since now! I’m naming her Katara, don’t you think she looks like a Katara?”
“Who’s even that?”
She gasped, as if the man had just uttered something blasphemous. “How do you not know Katara from Avatar?”
The old man simply shook his head before turning around and reaching to his phone to call someone—possibly for a tow truck because his was barely moving after hitting the pole.
Gigi simply turned around, bringing the kitten closer to her face before gently tickling its stomach. “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you from now on,” she grinned genuinely this time, and I just realized how pretty she looked with a real smile.
Wait, pretty? No, nope. I can’t be having these thoughts about my target.
I shook my head, running a hand through the blonde strands in frustration. Nevertheless…I shrugged off my black leather jacket and threw it in front of her usual way home, knowing she’ll use it to either cover herself or the kitten from the cold.
