Lunar Chronicles and Naturals crossover? I love it. Since this question is pretty theoretical—and depends on whether we mean her physical glamour or her general public deception—I’m going with my gut. Also, just for fun, I'm going to add what I think they'd be in the Lunar Chronicles world.

Lia: As a deception specialist and lie detector, I feel like she'd be able to see through her so fast. I feel like if she was in the Lunar Chronicles world she would be a shell just given her backstory and her abilities. I feel like there would also be some unique parallels with her mother there too. Though, I can see the argument for lunar too bc of the manipulation which Lia would totally relish in if she was Lunar (she'd be too powerful). Either way, she absolutely would not be fooled by Levana.

Celine: We don't know too much about her but I'm going to include her and say that if the question is based on seeing through glamour, I think Celine's skillset with faces gives her an edge and she can tell Levana's beauty is performative. If we are talking about the deception, she'd probably be second to last (Sloane would be last in that ranking) because she just would perceive her as the average person would I think. I think she would also be a Lunar given her social status.

Sloane: I'm taking this one more as seeing through glamour in which case I think Sloane would pick-up on the tiniest physics glitch or optical distortion and crack it open. Plus, she's just brilliant. If it's more about Levana's deceptive nature, then she'd be last. She gives me shell partly because I see some parallels between her and Cress. I can see a whole backstory with her father being disappointed in her being a shell and Sloane developing an insecurity because of that.

Michael: Kind of similar logic to Lia since they both specialize in reading people. And I'm not sure if you meant "disguise" more literally as in her glamour or metaphorically but heavy on the latter for him. He could tell what kind of person she is pretty fast I think. If he was in TLC world, he's be a wealthy lunar. I think he would abuse his glamour to mess with people and also to cover up bruises (I'm sorry).

Cassie: Cassie profiles by stepping into the victim's shoes. Because Levana fundamentally views herself as a victim of Channary, Cassie’s thought process would mirror Levana’s, letting her profile her/see through her better than anyone. She gives total Earthling/Earthen vibes and she would hate Lunar society.

Dean: I think he's very observant and intelligent, promise. I just see him being the furthest down on this particular list. Don't have an explanation for why other than the fact the others would be better. Dean gives me Lunar but I think he would be like Jacin in that his abilities are weak and I can see him not even using them bc he finds the manipulation distasteful.

I don't fully know how to explain the suspense and that feeling when you keep waiting for something terrible to happen that I felt reading this chapter, but it was so extremely well done it had both fun banter moments and some ominous tone as well👀the way you flashed out Lia's backstory has me sweating to know more, I felt this little drop in my stomach when this guy calls her Sadie out of nowhere. and holy protective Michael that was so in sync with his character and so natural of him (pun intended) at the same time. You wrote this whole ordeal and this whole concept of the AU so naturally it actually feels like they belong inside it.

Kai hating Michael with every inch in his body was not on my agenda but that was so accurate😭I had headcanoned even in the actual story that the cats Lia is so fond of hate Michael but that was on another level🤣

And Lia having a sweet tooth.....yes yes yes yes she's so me in this department.

So....is there anyway you could give a small hint, like a quote or an emoji or even like a single word about the next chapter?👀

I'm so glad the tone hit and that you felt the characterizations (love the pun) made sense! It means so much to me, especially because I imagine Michael's relationship with Lia is a tad bit different in this context. Seeing as they're not forced into the same space, every time they come together it's an active decision on both of their parts so I don't think there's as much animosity towards one another as in the original series if that makes sense? It also, selfishly, makes it a tad bit easier to try to resolve some of their problems by the end. That being said, they're both still complicated, volatile people, and some of those underlying issues—not wanting the other to see them too deeply and clashing because they don't let people in—are definitely still there.

And yes, Lia's cat hating Michael just made complete sense to me (especially early on), and I couldn't resist sneaking in Lia's ice cream obsession.

I shall give you the chapter spell which I think explains a lot though you might not fully appreciate how perfect it is until you read it.
