Well that’s it! If you’ve been following @thesocialmedium you know that we released our Season Finale this week and we are officially done. All the accounts are going to go dark for a bit, everyone one the team deserves a break. And I personally would like to crumple up into a ball and sleep for a month.
So I’d like to take moment before that happens and thank everyone. EVERYONE. So many amazingly talented people worked on this projects. Stuff you might not have even thought of like my amazing Producer, Jessica Maroney, who made sure there was food every day and made sure that I actually ate some of it (I’m a work-a-colic).
I stared to write a list of each and every person to thank them specifically and it blew me away just how many people were involved on this. We could not have made it happen with all of you. Top to bottom, my team are some of the most talented people and wonderful to work with to boot. I really hope we get to do it again.
And that brings up the Season Two issue. We’ve already started getting lots of messages from you awesome fans about what’s next and I’m going to be totally honest with you.... I don’t know. I have some thoughts, plans and of course we’ll be hitting the web festivals but I have no definitive answer for you. I want to make a Season Two happen and we are going to do everything in our power to make that happen but I can’t promise anything at this point. We will not be crowdfunding Season Two. I feel that you as a community have already given us so much and that it’s time for this baby bird to get pushed out of the nest.
That being said, THANK YOU! Thank you for backing us. Thank for supporting us monetarily and by watching. It means SO much to us.... to me... without your support we would not have come this far. I am so proud of everything we’ve made happen and I know that at the heart of it we have our fans and supporters to thank.
And one more thing before I go. Making this series gave me an amazing chance to talk about things I think are important. I know that on the outside we’ve made a silly little web show, heavily influence by Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Scooby Doo. But underneath the writers and I were trying to poke at the questions about human existence that I find interesting. Collaborating with Brian and all the writers has been immensely rewarding. Why am I telling you all of this. Cause you probably have stories of your own, things you think are important, point of view you’d like to share but haven’t. And I just wanted to tell you in this last sentence...
Make it, and if it fails, make it again but better... don’t be afraid to take the risk, just make it.
