SOCIAL MEDIUM CANON

You know what’s fun about the internet. FAN-FUCKING-FICTION.

Yeah, I dropped the f-bomb in there. I’m just that kind of girl.

No, but really. One of the incredibly exciting things about the internet is that you have a voice. I mean you, the person reading this right now. Yeah, YOU. You can create and make and add to a world and then show it to other people who also love the thing you love so much.

So, much like the shows that have gone before us we’re opening our little show, Social Medium, and letting you guys add to the canon.

With budget and time constraints like ours, we could only do so much on the show, we can only show a fraction of this awesome world we’ve created. And due to the style of the show, we don’t get to film a lot of the quite personal moments between the characters (Just ask Brian about a scene we were forced to cut between Beatrix and Fallon cause I just couldn’t justify the camera being there). We don’t get to visit the Silver Peaks that’s in my head. This crazy little neighborhood that’s more like a small town, where everyone knows each other, with Sunday farmer’s markets, quirky lot footed newspaper men, book merchants and their hairless cat, Mephistopheles… I love it all so much. I love all these characters already and we can’t even show it to you yet because if very real indie web series limitations.

From the very beginning this show has been a massive collaboration. As a show runner I have the great honor of hearing all these amazing ideas that flood in. From the shows crazy talented writers, to cast, directors, production designers, producers all the way down to the PAs who are only with us for a day, they’ve all given me the gift of their ideas. And I get to wave my wand and say “Yes, that’s in. That’s now a part of the show.”
