In October I got to collaborate with Mimi Chao. She has a rad style, paints digitally and in real life, and is the owner of Mimochai—an independent storybook studio and shop. - Mimi sent me a few portrait pieces of influential women, which I worked on top of in my expressive abstract doodle style. - One thing I love about collaborations is seeing what moves other people. I’ve never dug into history, human rights issues, sustainability, or social justice issues. So it was enlightening and eye-opening to work with Mimi, who was inspired and moved by these women. Who are they? 1. Angela Davis. A leader of the civil rights movement—since early days. She was named in Time’s 100 women of the year. 2. The US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. A pioneer for women’s rights, and an icon to many men and women. She passed away recently. 3. Gisele Bundchen. A super model, who uses her influence to champion sustainability and environmentalism. - Find more of Mimi’s lovely work here—@mimizchao and @mimochai - These pieces are available as art prints. Find them via the link in bio. - Have questions for Mimi or me?
