I have a problem: I start worldbuilding and then I can’t stop.

I wanted to give Lucien a scent that has a kind of love/hate quality, and that even the people who love it feel like “I really shouldn’t like this”, plus the scientific nature, I thought that chlorine was perfect for him. (Second runner up was gasoline/petrol fumes.)

As posted yesterday I decided to write out my own fan fic of MLQC our favorite men crossed paths one night with you (MC) this is the lead up to the main event. I havnt really proof read as I just couldn’t wait to get writing, hope you enjoy!!

Loveland Charity Event

Part one: “HE??”

There you were standing; glowing in your beautiful lavender evening gown you had chosen for this event, the dress wasn’t cheap either you had paid a pretty price for such a thing the store clerk recommended. It was an open back dress with lace sleeves, something you yourself wouldn’t necessarily have chosen but you had to admit you felt like a princess in it. To add to your look the hairdresser allowed your hair to rest gently to the side just over your left shoulder; pinned with a silver hair comb of crystal rhinestone pearl flower, setting aside your long curls. This exposed the right side of your face and neck, you added simple dangly diamond earrings to close the open space of your side. That evening you had chosen simple make up, light cover up and contour of the cheeks and mainly eye makeup… and truly did you ever look like royalty. Perhaps that’s why you’re here… stuck between a cross roads… that being Lucien, Victor, Gavin and Kiro… Each standing there glaring at one another… No one spoke a word but if looks could kill….. This charitable event would be a warzone. Four gorgeous horseman standing there waiting to sweep the princess off her feet and off into the night.

Mid-august, you were sitting at your desk reading over the report for the 14th time contemplating whether it was good enough to submit to Victor tomorrow morning. You’d worked tediously the past couple nights writing this report for a proposal on a new show, something to really boost the ratings (and your confidence as a producer).  You didn’t know why, but you couldn’t help but feel as though something was missing… Sighing heavily and rubbing the dark circles that were your eyes wondering if this was living up to all the expectations people had for you, just then Anna tapped you on the shoulder.

“Anna you can’t just sneak up on people!”  You explained startled.  Anna laughs,” it’s not my fault you’re zoned out staring off in space with such an expression on your face. To my defence, I did try to text you and couldn’t find you during clock off so here I am.”

Pulling your phone out to check and indeed, several missed texts and calls… Lord is I really that out of it today…  “Anyways, here look at this!” Anna pulls up an email on her phone to show. An invite to the Charity event happening next week here in Loveland, which was held once every 3 years to help the third world countries during horrendous tragedies. Usually such events were exclusive and only upper class citizens/business partners were invited however this event was inviting not just them but middle class citizens and businesses.  You’d checked the emails and indeed you too had received this and to your surprise you had caught a glimpse of the same email being forwarded from none other but…. Lucien!?!?!

“I’ve got the email but looks like Lucien also forwarded to me…” You trail off as you open the email and read aloud what was typed. “MC, our department has been cordially invited to the charity event and I’m here wondering if you do not have a date why not go together?  Call me when you’ve got a mome-…”

Anna burst out, “look at you! This email was only just sent out an hour ago and you’ve already gotten yourself a date! Well done!” Giving you a slight shoulder nudge not noticing how ruby red your face had gotten while Anna spoke boldly. You thought to yourself ‘I have no time for this I have so much work still to do’… Just then your phone begins to ring in hand.

Lucien…. What timing… Answering the call, “hey I was just about to call you” hoping your voice didn’t match the embarrassment of your red face. There was a slight chuckle on the other end then heard, “Why hello; I guess great minds think alike, did you get my email?”

Anna winks and mouths *I’m going on ahead* before turning and leaving you to talk. “Yes, I literally just read it when you called…” Your voice which you thought sounded quite normal…was not. “Well what do you think? Wouldn’t you agree? It would be much more fun to go with someone familiar; I heard it’s going to be the grandest event they’ve ever held?” ‘Really?’ You thought to yourself before noticing you had already answered his question with a simple. ”Sure, sounds like fun!” Eyes widen in disbelief you really must be out of it today… “Okay I’ll call you tomorrow to discuss the details” and then he just hung up. No goodbye; he was a mystery to you, one you never really quite could figure out… Today has been a day indeed, you reside as you pack your things to go home.

NEXT DAY at LFG (6 days till the event)

You make your way to Victor’s office for your report hand in, greeting Goldman at the door, “Victor in?” He looks at you and quickly replies, “Yup! In you go” opening and then closing the door after ushering you in… How strange.  You look over and see the CEO staring intensely at a file … He looked upset; something you didn’t quite see often from the calm and sarcastic boss of yours, yikes! Sheepishly you announce yourself, “umm good morning sir here with the proposal report” your voice seems to break his concentration, with a raised eyebrow and even bigger frown he says, “Sir?”

You’d called him sir previously when you were to run into each other or at interviews. Matter of professionalism but Victor never really liked it… Not from you anyways. “Sorry sir- I – I mean Victor, we had an appointment?” slowly raising the file to half block your eye sight. He replies, “Just give me a moment I’m nearly done” before returning to the file he had in his hand. You take a seat on the chair just a couple feet from where you were standing, and bling bling your phone begins to go off! OH NO, you hurriedly go to silence the phone not to disturb Victor and you accidently answer the call!! AHH with no choice left now but to talk in almost a whisper, “hello?”  “MC, it’s me. I’ll be off in an hour why don’t we meet at the Café near your studio and discuss next week’s arrangements?” Lucien’s’ voice seemed to have filled the silent room. “Uh sure I’m busy at the moment but I’ll be there.” Ending the call, praying Victor wasn’t angry. Slowly raising your eyes after putting your phone away you noticed Victor didn’t seem all that bothered, Phew!! Until, “next time turn your phone off before coming in here… idiot.” He places the file down meeting your eyes and waving you forward. You stride over as casually as possible and hand over the report… Victor grabs it and immediately starts looking it over, “Looks alright few minor adjustments needed, will you be attending the charity event next week?”  You’re puzzled as you knew there was going to be something in the report he’d pick out… wait what? Whys he asking about the event? “Uh yea I think so.” You ask with a slight look of confusion on your face. “Right, I’ll pick you up at 6 then.” He adds dismissing you to leave. You stand your ground staring at him dumb-founded before adding, “I’m sorry but I’ll be attending with a friend of mine, he had asked me yesterday and I’ve committed.”

‘He? Who’s He?’ Victor looked at you void of any emotion on his face but in his mind was like fireworks of sadness, anger and… jealousy?? All revolved around one word…. HE!
