How can something not have will yet follow orders around and do this whole training regimen. Like I don't know how you thought starting from a very powerful sentient source of existence like your kids and then attempting to hollow them out with void would work. Are you even able to fully verify that the void doesn't have some form of consciousness or awareness? Like you probably were struggling with the sunk cost fallacy with this one solution and I imagine the whole stress of your kingdom falling to ruin made you look more for signs of your final desperate plan working, therefore blinding you to the basic flawed premise you laid out but like... Tell me in your words how you came to this conclusion? No, I'm not being mean I genuinely want know your thought process through this whole. How often do people get the chance to study and understand other sapient life, let alone someone with such a rich history in a position of power? I'm not trying to judge you to harshly, kinda pointless now since it's not like I'm judge or jury, I'm just utterly at a loss at understanding how your mind works and I have to be able to understand you if I'm going to be able to take care of you properly. It'd be like if you got a trap door spider and kept pulling it out of it out of it's hole because it kept trying to hunt the way it naturally does. Would definitely be screeching up a storm and attacking hands that they try to touch it with. Definitely has to be put in a separate tank with a regular feeding sessions so it doesn't try to escape. Unfortunately with it's hunting method, I imagine Nosk would only eat live prey. That's one way for the other bugs to feel how lucky there are to be the ones being fed by their CT, and not one of the ones being fed to something else...

The Stag would probably be the most equipped to be able to traverse CT's home, able to run on seemingly endless stamina due to his general job description, but that doesn't mean he's happy about it. He's used to tunnels, running across a room would just be far too open for comfort. Get him some hamster tunnels to explore, and some time to adjust to these weird tunnels, and you may seem him following CT around and watching what they do.

With some time they may realize it, seeing their caretaker is reacting to any visual displays or attempts at communication significantly better than anything else. Then it definitely depends on the bug in question and what they would do. There’s already a language bearer though, so it may not be as much of an obstacle than you would think. They just have to rely a lot more on gestures and drawing than trying to learn/teach any spoken language. Learning sign would certainly be something they'd start trying to learn if relevant, but it may be hard to ready those tiny hands. Especially if they don’t have five fingers like a human does.
