Chuck gets a hero moment on Judgement Day
Let's be honest, Charles Xavier was not behaving heroically during the first Krakoan age. Creepy, manipulative, condescending, cold-blooded, committed to realpolitik and the big picture. Nobody is perfect, and nothing prepares a teacher/headmaster for being patriarch of a young nation under constant fire. That was the point, of course, but I admire Gillen giving him a moment to shine.
So when Druig, temporary Prime Eternal, decided genocide was dandy Charles held the fort alone in a psychic siege against immortal angels. He's not battling one Eternal there - he's battling ALL of them. They've been doing this for a million years and they failed to get past Chuck's big brain and will to protect his people.
Sure, he died a few times doing it, his brain melted into cosmic sludge - but they had eggs good to go so he could get back into it. 24 hours straight, while participating in council meetings/running a country under attack at the same time.
It's nice to see him flex his superhero chops. 🫅🧠👏
