Let's face it people the whole of the 21st Century has just been one big humiliation and marginalization by Marvel editorial, for the entire X-Franchise after another. Let's just go down the list

First, they decide to just destroy the Mutant nation of Genosha because apparently it would have been to complicated to explore the potential of Mutants having their own nation back then or something.

Then they decide to literally kill off the entire Mutant Race in House of M leading to the stupidly miserable grimdark Decimation Era, in which Scott turns into a crazed Fanatic and we have that equally fucking stupid Schism nonsense and Hope Summers.

Then there was that complete nonsensical bullshit Avengers vs X-Men where the X-Men get there ass kicked because at that point the Avengers had become Marvel's Golden Child and Scott kills Xavier because "Muh Phoneix made me do it."

Which kickstarts that whole Original 5 X-Men era which was just complete idiotic nonsense, which led to Marvel trying to kill off the X-Men AGAIN and try to replace them with the Inhumans, because of corporate movie rights bullshit.

And when Marvel finally gets the Rights to use the X-Men in movies we get the Krakoan Age, were the X-Men all become Isolationist Fascists and just fuck all the time apparently.
