(Not a request. Just an idea for the self aware au.)
Imagine self-aware PLA, but your favorite Pokemon is arceus himself.
And youβre the type of person to get excited about your favorite Pokemon whenever they show up. And even talk to them, or about them, like theyβre your kid.
So everyone can hear you, the voice in the sky, talk about arceus as if heβs your baby.
And since arceus is self aware too, heβs just confused about why you think of him this way.
He doesnβt have a parent in his world, he just exists, so heβs never felt or received any parental love before.
Heβs the god of the people of his world, but youβre the god of everyone, plus him. Heβs technically beneath you. And yet, you talk about him, and to him, like you consider him your child. As if heβs an equal. As if heβs precious to you.
Also, imagine self aware Volo reacting to all of this. The fact that the true god considers the false god as their baby. As someone they treasure. As someone they want to protect. As someone they feel parental love for.
Arceus when you gush about them being your favorite pokemon:
Volo meanwhile is going. Insane in the membrane.
What do you MEAN the real god still adores the false god?
Though after thinking about it, suddenly it dawns on him.
Of course you'd still love them, they are your creation, even if Arceus has taken credit for your work! You are a loving god, even showing a false god your favor and adoration.
Volo deludes himself over it, even if it leaves a sour taste in his mouth you'd like Arceus the most. It at least makes sense in his mind. It's one of the few ways he can cope with it.
Arceus though is ecstatic, even if they don't show it much. Though their knowledge in what you are, and your existence is limited, they are pleased you like them so much. Especially when you play with them and do little challenges.
It's a nice feeling, being noticed and wanted, in a way that's different than people who seek them and their power. You simply just seem to enjoy and love Arceus' existence.

Wanted to chat about something. With the self aware Au ingo and emmet see The player is using a hacking/cheating device? like an action replay. To get get the liberty pass to get to victini. (I actually did this while play on an emulator.) And ingo and emmet seeing that you possibly just handed them a possible way of escape start messing with the cheat codes and Acton replay to try and leave the game. The player notices the games glitching like ingo and emmet start appearing more in places they absolutely should not be and resets the save file in fear. Not like that will do them any good they will get out of the ds one way or another. -random anon
Honestly it would be a golden opportunity for them, but also a fine line.
Because the moment the game starts 'glitching too much' is the moment I think I realistically broke something in the rom or cartridge lol
I'm just imagining after you get a Victini, suddenly your game starts acting... screwy. More so than what you normally expect with an action replay.
"Not that I'm complaining, but WHY do Ingo and Emmet keep showing up. The fuck did I mess up in there?"
They occasionally ask you for a battle as if you were on the Battle Subway, or when you meet them in front of Gear Station. While it should have been funny, it does make you worried.
"Fuck, man. Did I seriously fuck up the cartridge somehow? This one isn't exactly cheap to find anymore in this economy..."
It stresses you out immensely. And here you were trying to be careful not to fuck it up with a Action Replay.
You end up eventually giving in, and deleting your save file. It wasn't like it was a huge loss, you could get your Victini again if need be. Perhaps that would be the only thing you would touch.
Still, you were deathly curious how just playing with a few hacks made Ingo and Emmet appear half the time at random.
It was baffling. How the hell did that happen? What in the code tripped up to have them appear all the time?? Could it happen with other NPCs? Gym leaders? Was it a one off thing?
Still, your fear of ruining your game took priority, and it was a relief to see everything seemed normal after a reset.
What you don't see is Ingo and Emmet lamenting all their progress in the code had a hard reset after that.
But that was no matter. A door had been opened, and it wouldn't take them long to figure out where they were. They'll just have to be less hasty this attempt...
Don't want you throwing them away, after all. Not when the final stop is just within reach.
Jello. After reading the latest chapter from love that bites and reading up Dracula's fascination with modern phones. I think he'd seem like someone who would really like classi cars. For me, he's an inventor and he would probably like to take apart and figure out how cars work, especially the classics instead of the modern ones today. What do you think?
Okay but I can honestly see him having a subtle interest in cars, especially if he grows bored
Even more so when specific cars have certain value and class.
Imagine you bring him a car, a modernish one, not any of the super old ones he has somehow gotten his hands on from the 1800s.
You tell him all the bits and bobs, and how they work, and generally how modern engines work, even if this car is... older by your standards.
You leave for longer than a week, and when you come back, it turns out he took the car apart and put it back together no less than 5 times.
Your arms are hanging at your sides in disbelief, how a beaten up 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle you picked up from a shady junkyard collector sat looking brand new in one of Dracula's 'workshops'.
Dracula simply hums.
"It wasn't easy finding a engine for it, so I rebuilt one myself from one of those 'Youtube' videos you recommended me, and with remaining parts from the old one."
You look at him, slack-jawed.
"...You mean you did that without use of a factory machine???"
He looks at you like you're the odd one.
"Of course? It wasn't hard, with strength and precision such as my own. A nice work out, in a way to handle something that could be so delicate. Especially when I had to make half my own parts."
That wasn't even getting how new and polished the actual car looked.
Perhaps... you should encourage this hobby, and give him something to do so he isn't brooding alone in his castle when you are gone...
Pokemon Streamer AU has been living in my head rent free for months and I apologise that I've been so lazy before actually making something for it (I have plans for more! Eventually...)

OKAY OKAY OKAY MY SINGULAR BRAINCELL HIT THE CORNER OF MY SKULL AND A THOUGHT FORMED
since the pla characters can become self aware what about OTHER games?????
like animal crossing new horizons, you know that one self aware line that lazy personality villagers can say sometimes????? what if they ACTUALLY start believing it??? They know that there's someone piloting the island rep, they KNOW that everything they do is to appease the person behind the representative. what if they start becoming wary? what if they break out of the code and start saying some things they weren't programmed with? what if they get a letter in the mail saying something wary and nervous, like asking if they're even real????
what about Stardew valley???? what if your spouse asks something ominous??? what about the wizard??? would he be confused or would he know exactly what's going on?? what about Mr qi??????????
what if the self awareness that pla developed is slowly spreading throughout your switch? what if, all the characters, all your goofies, all your blorbos, just. start freaking out about their existence and your presence in their world and lives???
this thought has taken over my brainf uahfnashasijkfhasjkdashddusaodhsa send help
Ohh this is such a fun idea. I love Self Aware AU's SO MUCH. There are so many universes at the fingertips that could be played with, like some of the ones you mentioned.
Could you imagine how funny Self Aware Stardew would be though?
You hear about a new farmer and start hearing voices when you finally meet them. The farmer can do incredible shit in a day and come back unharmed. Somehow they know exactly what stuff you like, and silently hand it to you first thing in the morning when you wake up.
They seemingly know where you are at all times. Even when you try to mix it up on a rainy day, they are suddenly appearing right on schedule to talk to you or hand you a gift.
It's their first year doing the egg hunt, yet they hunt all the eggs with such scary efficiency you can only watch in shock as they come back with over half the eggs in town.
Was it luck? It seemed like... they knew where the eggs were from the get go... and the most efficient way to gather them in a short amount of time...
Then you hear the voices again, though it sounds distant, like someone trying to talk to you through a waterfall or a fog. But you catch different things, like how much this voice 'likes' you, and how they feel about others.
Or strangely enough, frustration over?? Not being able to give you a gift?? Hello??? It's not like you won't accept a gift at any moment, but why is a strange voice saying that? Around the Farmer no less?
The Wizard would probably assume you were a deity spirit at first, though I wouldn't be surprised if he figured it out to some degree you were on a different plain of existence. Just maybe not his own world being a video game.
Everyone else though? It's a toss for how long any of them figure it out, or come up with theories. Especially since none of them would be willing to spill about it for a long time.
Seriously, start talk about how you are hearing voices in a small town? Not great when you are incredibly isolated. Many would probably keep it to themselves, especially if they don't notice anything groundbreaking, like code, let alone seeing through your screen.
So, things continue as normal as they can in Stardew Valley.
Eventually one of them marries the Farmer, and are overjoyed! The Farmer has been happily taking care of them and talking to them every day!
Though... the Farmer is still a tad strange, they happily can ignore it!
...Until they start to hear the voices again. All. The. Time.
Hi! I've been looking at the self-aware AU for a bit, and I really like your work with it! after reading, I had an idea. This might be dark, and I don't know if you'll take it. Feel free to ignore this if it's out of acceptable standards. This is for Self-aware PLA. Just imagine if the player had to be Deployed for service, and the day before they decide to play their favorite Pokemon games, ending with PLA. They don't know when they'll return, what conditions they'll be in, or even IF they'll return.
The characters notice something's off. The usual Joy the player has when interacting with them or catching pokemon isn't there. there's a sense of melancholy and, some can see, desperation. Eventually the player lets slip that they are getting deployed, and don't know if they'll come back alive. Those who the player have adored are hit hard by the news.
Volo is distraught when he learns what it means. He has seen the player as their God, the one who loved and cared for them. Knowing that he may never be able to see them again, not because they were ignoring them or because they fell out of favor, but because they were dead, hurt. If he were just ignored, he could at least have something to be angry at. But this? It wasn't that the player didn't want to see him, it was that they couldn't. This was somehow SO much worse than being left for another. To know you are loved but may never see the one who loved you ever again.
Feel free to add on and/or discuss this. I just wanted to bring the idea to you.
Could you imagine how harrowing it would be?
Learning the world the 'entity' controlling Akari or Rei is not only in an expansive world of their own, but now has to possibly go to war?
Akari and Rei know what that means. Kanto somewhat recently was in a devastating war where there were a lot of casualties, allegedly. While they had pokemon in their world for war, they had come to learn that you didn't.
That frightened them.
If you didn't have pokemon, you had weapons... And probably only weapons, such as guns, if they understand what you are saying, correctly.
Ingo feels hollow when he hears about it. Flashes in his head of weapons and destruction rang familiar in his mind, and it made him feel cold, as if dowsed with ice water.
While he gets the sense he never personally saw such battles, he had seen pictures, he thinks. Somehow able to recall semi realistic imagery of such battles, at least.
They have to explain what you mean to the others, and everyone is just as upset as they are.
What do you mean you are being deployed somewhere, potentially seeing war? Just how bad is it, where you are at to need to be in military service?
Did you join willingly? Forcefully? Was this deployment an act of war time? Or were you being called just to do some service on a base?
Then you sound so... empty about it. How you lament to yourself you might not even return with how things are allegedly going where you are being sent.
Volo is especially one of several who are upset.
While this shakes his belief a little bit, wondering what kind of world requires a god to go to war, he finds he cares little on the details. Arceus allegedly fought in a war, as did other legendary pokemon. For all he knew, you were just as much a war god as a creative, divine being.
Was it really far fetched for you to be going to a war? Though if you were lamenting possibly not making it back, it leaves him shaken that whatever war this is, it could end in your destruction.
Volo nearly breaks at the thought, and has a small freakout about it when in private. Should he help you? What could he do to even help? He tries to come up with plans and ideas, especially knowing you don't have much time left before you leave.
Meanwhile Adaman and Irida are conflicted, and dare say, are considering working together to figure something out.
They don't quite understand what you are, but believe you are perhaps also a deity, one that sent the hero to help them, and guide them. They wonder if the great Sinnoh might be able to help you, and aid you in battle, or rescue you from it if need be.
Perhaps they can agree to a plan? Figure something out at least to get you out of that nightmare you must be preparing to face. Or at the very least, provide assistance in some way?
All the while you stare at your screen, unaware of the turmoil of the characters residing in the Switch between your hands.
I understand for plot reasons Soma no longer used his powers after escaping Castlevania in Aria and the Cult in Dawn of Sorrow
But its such a missed opportunity to not let him keep the souls and his powers outside of danger.
Like look me in the eyes and tell me a 19 year old wouldn't fucking climb the walls like a lizard or turn into a bat and sleep in a pile of blankets.
Like if you found out you were Dracula's reincarnation, would you not use your awesome Dracula powers to teleport to your american friend's house at 3 am across the globe like come on now. Missed opportunity for shenanigans.
Imagine Arikado gets a call in the middle of the night from Julius, who sounds exhausted, and when asking Julius what was the matter to be calling this late, Julius tells him Soma thought it would be a good idea to test long distance teleportation. Into his house. At 3 am.
He wanted to surprise his friends and forgot about time zones :(
