This is a side blog I have dedicated to stuff I hyperfixate over! I post a lot of shit posts, but I also enjoy writing stuff on here, occasionally posting art, and reblogging things I like related to my interests.
That being said, this is primarily a writing/idea discussion blog.

Self-Aware AU: Imagine being a modder trying to improve the game, either for personal, or just developmental reasons. Pokémon Legends is a fun game, but it could be way better. The environment is a bit bland to explore, the Pokémon kinda just walk around and feel soulless. The lack of cultural differences between all the clans, you don’t get side quests to help them either.
You’re mostly limited to Jubilife, and once it’s all done there’s nothing left to do. No random challenging battles, or anything trying to implement some battle tower dojo after people start getting comfortable with Pokémon. There aren’t many outside moments where you can bond with your Pokémon like in previous games. Finding Legendaries and mythicals doesn't feel that all cool after the first play through. For what the game is considering the time-frame and previous entries. It’s a jump-ahead and special in its own right. To make a game or even ambitious add-ons would take forever. Or just be super unrealistic. But let’s just say the player was really good at programming, writing, modeling, animating, or just had a ton of help along the way. How trippy would it be for everyone just to see it all develop and finish.
World lore is updated and altered, both in the environment and ruins. There are murals, ruined temples all with a touch of added detail. Puzzles too that are made to be more complex. The environment feels more natural now to traverse.
Adaman and Irida start to argue with each other about more things. Even their own clan starts to feel more lively, having their own optional quests to do. Since when did they ever have their own festivals, games, and spooky tales? To watch the player go to them over and over again, testing out different scripts and animations.
Volo can travel the region along with other members of the merchants guild, and he actually has some chemistry between them. He knows a lot more about them, and when it comes to the script. He just roles with it. At first, it would be unnerving to be forced to be the villain, but with each reset, re-play. It seems like the real “God” is trying to tell a story through him. Maybe he’s more sinister or manipulative, either by script or his improv touch up.
He sees the work they’ve done. Pokémon suddenly grow more lively, have fights with each other, and interact with trees and items. Alpha Pokémon are leading packs, and just have a more established hierarchy. Looking back the world feels like a shell.
NPCS have more presence around the clans and Jubilife city. You can cook with Beni to feed your Pokémon fun treats. It’s only on rare occasions disasters Beni performs feats of acrobatics to stop plates from falling on the floor. He’ll kick you out of you cook terribly.
Kamado has more of an appearances in the corpse and for the player. He trains them how to dodge and gives them some advice on handling the wild. It’s a smoother transition to his choice to banish the protagonist, even if it is still bad. It just packs more of a punch since you thought you gained his trust day to day.

Pokémon can be interacted with in the ranch, and can be made to breed, or just play with toys. The balloon popping game can now be done with them instead if it is just being a race. You can now ride your Pokémon, but you still need to quell the others first beforehand. Special events happen in the wild, seasons apparently can now change.
Post game is probably the most significant because nearly all the quests are locked behind there. You get to have the clans sort out and respect their differences. You get to help build buildings and even establish some makeshift fashion show with Azeru and the other lady. So much more customization and opportunities to cosplay as characters. The photo shoot is chaos with all the stuff that can be added.
There’s a battle tower or dojo made for people in response to the time-distortions. People are navigating how to fight, the more you battle, the harder it gets as they learn more. The spare Pokémon the protagonist catches are given and battle with by the other villagers. They grow overtime as people experiment with them. But it’s still not that hard.
Probably, the best thing about the post-game story is that Emmet gets into Hisui and has his own plotline to find Ingo. By the time everything is in alpha instead of beta. I’m pretty sure despite all the repetitions the whole world just adopted the customs at this point.
There’s a whole new section of time distortions, where they get to battle trainers on a glitchy subway. The distortions are happening underground now. It’s essentially post-game battles where pre-made teams are used, instead of the Pokémon trained by the Jubilife villagers. It’s made to be grueling just as Emmet (accidentally) intended. The next line is arriving in Hisui of all places. You can catch Unovan Pokémon as well as trade for other regional variants.
Seeing that all be built from the ground up, from the glitches to crashes, placeholder models. Talk about a mind-fuck. At first it was rough to be injected with memories or scenes, only to have it removed or replaced. But as everything finalized, things just got easier for them. It did help a lot when the dialogue just wrote itself sometimes. Did they program that?
The line between script and self-awareness blurred. But hey, Pokémon Legends Arceus + is out!
(I’d like to imagine them all just making fun of eachother through the years of development. Pointing out glitches or scrapped scripts. Emmets neck casually snapping in the middle of a sentence, when it was supposed to be his coat fluttering in the wild. Adaman is late to performance, but his dialogue box is still playing out. The amount of times Kamado has banished the protagonist. Volo fell through the floor during his final encounter. Irida moonwalking, or Melli being blasted off like a team rocket due to collision bugs. Every NPC has their own signature bug)
Ohhh I love this
You would consider it all a major passion project, of course. The game may in and of itself be very big gameplay wise, but it is still a lot of code. Meaning a lot more code you have to edit, write, and execute if you wish to mod it.
It takes YEARS, but you carefully and lovingly mod bits and bobs.
You start with maybe a few animation changes here and there for the pokemon, then add on to their behaviors.
Then, you decide to add a bit more to the land. It was a bit bland, in your opinion, even if it was arguably still a game that was a step forward.
A few new tree models here... more grass here... different textures of rocks there....
Eventually, you decide to re-haul all of Jubilife and the other villages. Sure, the village on it's own was cute, but it should have been more.
And quickly, everyone takes notice.
Before, your blorbos could argue nothing really changed. Just "was that tree always here?" or "I don't remember the rocks looking like this, but..."
It's hard to deny it though when you mess with the village textures first. Adding more and more, until you decide to mess with some animations.
Now pokemon walk around with folks, and you even set up some code so some villagers will walk around more, now. Maybe even add a few NPCs down the line to make it feel more 'alive'.
That is when they all start to notice. (It doesn't help the perception of you possibly being a God or Creator of some sort.)
Then, you dip your toes into making quests. You start small, of course. A few fetch quests here and there. Then you add quests that place NPCs in different locations.
It takes forever to do, but you are proud of your work. Even if getting to where you are now took years, and plenty of crashes, errors, and glitches along the way. Your favorite being one that launched Volo at super speed across the Obsidian Fieldlands when he bumped into an object and the physics bugged out.
(Volo may have thought he was going to die. Oops.)
Many are awed, even if it is a slow process. And it seems all you desire, is for there to simply be more for everyone. More to do. More to have. More to experience.
IRL, your mods are both quality of life, and well known for content, helping keep the game alive in certain circles. Its quite popular!
Though you are glad people enjoy it, you admittedly did it for yourself. A passion project, if you will. You saw this game's potential, and the love that could have been put into it, if the devs had just been given more time.
It takes time. Yet everyone inside your little game have notice how much care you are putting in to make everyone's lives richer, more fulfilling. Even if it means you stop time or reset it on occasion, it's like you are trying to make everything right. If they didn't already, almost everyone grows to adore you for it.

See, theres something odd i've noticed here. if you cast Petrify Columbo like you said, he'd be stone. Since to petrify is to turn to stone. and since the spell is only designed to affect Columbo, the dog would be immune. Yet i can't help but observe that Columbo and the dog appear metallic. It seems to me that your Petrify Columbo spell did in fact fail, as you thought it would, and somebody else simultaneously hit them with a Turn to Bronze, a more generic spell that would hit the dog too. Not only were you correct in your estimation of your abilities, but you are also being framed by the real culprit.
I'm just imagining like, sure, some of them would definitely be jealous here. But just imagine the flock of mother hens you don't even realize you have.
Some are horribly jealous. You have a partner? Or perhaps it was a fling? Or are you simply a surrogate? Out of all the times they wish they could talk to you, now is definitely up there.
Some argue perhaps you are just creating life in your own world? If you are a god, like some believe, you don't necessarily need a partner...
At least a good half though are keeping a steady eye on you, fretting over you when you don't even realize it.
Are you eating enough for you and the child? Are you getting enough rest? Surely you have someone helping you with the house work and meals?
If not, don't be surprised if your switch suddenly freezes. You let out a sad noise, fearing it crashed. Which, of course, it did.
In Volo's defense, he didn't mean to do that.
Thankfully, your game seems fine. You don't know what you'd do without your switch to help distract you on the days you have no energy...
If you happen to have a rough pregnancy, or someone who refuses to help (a partner/housemate/family) during said pregnancy, it gets rough on one of your bad days.
You happen to be on the phone venting while playing, and mention something that is barely a blip in your life during all of this, but you grow surprised when the whole house's electricity flickers, starting from your docked switch.
Everyone overheard what you had said, and their collective anger/bafflement unintentionally caused a power surge. Oops.
ADHD affects how I experience time, not how I experience attachment. I love you. I miss you. I just don't realize how long it’s been since I last said that, let alone messaged.
I understand that most normal functioning brains need regular engagement to maintain a bond. Absence doesn’t diminish my affection. My silence isn’t neglect or disinterest. It’s time blindness and object impermanence. The contact gap is purely neurological, not emotional. Thank you for being patient with my inconsistency and holding a seat in your heart for me.

I’m very late to the Castlevania fandom, but it was your art that piqued my curiosity to explore it, now I’m hooked. All that is to say, I am glad to see your creations. They make me so happy to see, especially your stuff with Dracula. I adore your interpretation of him and his design. Do not be afraid to talk to me! I am a very non-judgy person and have learned a lot from my time on the internet. Truth be told, I am very shy myself and also have Asperger’s, so talking is not my strong suit either.
It always makes me happy to see other people interested in my ideas. It’s where my motivation comes from. And to see that my art got you into Castlevania? That amazing! I’m so thankful! While my motivation, ideas, and health are at a low point right now, I really do hope to continue drawing this fandom for a while. Playstation is getting rid of making physical games with discs going forward?? Like what the fuck is the point of owning a Playstation. At that point why spend $600 - $800 bucks on a ps5 (and probably more on a PS6 when that drops) if I can't have physical copies for games I own.
Like at that point, you may as well just buy the Steam Machine or a Mini PC with a usb disc drive. It would probably be the same amount as whatever the PS6 is gonna be, anyway.
