Hot take/unpopular opinion, but Your Idol from Kpop Demon Hunters is definitely not about Rumi with how manipulative the lyrics are. Like, even as a demon, Jinu would be capable enough by the end of the movie to write an honest love song, and not a song about stealing someone's soul, living in their mind, nobody coming to save them and keeping the person down on their knees and obsessed.
Like, after knowing Rumi well enough, Jinu wouldn't be thick in the head to write those lyrics with such a manipulative undertone.
The song is about an unhealthy, obsessional love, which kinda undermines the true connection Rumi and Jinu were building.
Sure, Jinu can feel indebted to Rumi for saving him, but if he wrote the lyrics in perspective of him singing it to her, or her singing it to him, it's unhealthy either way to see each other like that.
Gwi-Ma is literally in the background as the tempo rises and y'all are saying it's about Rumi/for Rumi?
It's a warning to the fans, the victims!
